LOUIS HOME This is what happened to Louis. Louis went missing on Saturday 20 April. On Sunday morning, after a night long search, his worried owner reported Louis missing to the local dog warden – London Borough Hammersmith and Fulham. A restless week of grief and searching followed. On Friday afternoon, 26 April, he got a call from the LBHF dog warden. Louis was in Kent. That was where he had been taken by the dog warden who picked him up on Saturday night, 20 April., just streets from where he had gone missing. Today, a whole week later, Louis was returned to his owner, by the dog warden, in a very poor condition.

Why did it take six days to let the owner know where his dog had been taken? Is the suffering of dog and owner in any way justified. Of course he is glad to have Louis back, but he was already in the care of the LBHF Dog Warden when he reported the dog missing last Sunday morning. Surely there must be a better system than this. Do Dog Wardens not check Dog Lost? – Louis was on here all week. Or is this some sort of scam to fill kennels in Kent.

Perhaps it would be possible to somehow link all entries on to Dog Lost onto the dog wardens national database – I believe they have one, but no evidence. If this was my dog and he had been missing all week I would be sueing the Borough for kidnap. And causing unnecessary suffering to an animal - and its owner.
