Wow!!!!!! We got a call tonight at 11.45 a family in Great Bromley has her, amazing news. She was hanging around their garden, they tried to invite her in but she wouldn't come in so they left the gate open and put out 2 pizzas, she eventually came in. When we got there she had made herself at home in front of the Aga and was having a rest, she looks well, a bit stiff and her right paw is a little sore but all in all she is so happy to see us and get home to her bed after her epic journey. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the amazing people who have dedicated their time and effort in the search, at 2am we are a very happy family!!!!!!

Remember my email - do the scenting near the food site! She will always remember your smell and hopefully, stay there!
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
EmFinch, you are half way there - or even 85% there! Keep leaving food and water being there and put something down like an old blanket of yours for her to bed down on. Pop it is a secure place, a bit hidden so its safe. She will come back because of the food if she doesn't get it anywhere else. And even if she does, this will be her food source in Dedham. I suspect she's had a good meal, bedded down someone she liked for the night and has now gone off to search for home. Remember the triangle - home, Dedham and where? It may be a funny shaped triangle, but this is what she'll do until she's home or you get her. Do not despair - you are almost there! Can you get a rota of people to watch the food site? Or a camera? When she is seen, do not approach, let her come to you or them. Also, you need to be aware, that you too may have to tread slowly as she may not instantly know its you, so slowly but surely. She's been running wild, in survival mode, so she has to be sure who you are before she approaches. You really can do this! Nearly there! x
EmFinch
Thanks to everyone who's been helping around Dedham last night and today, it was her, she was being fed by 2 couples who saw her in a field right beside the A12, she was there for 4hrs but they were unable to catch her, she's so timid and wary of strangers. Amazingly it was Emma's sister who saw her as she was passing whilst travelling home and alerted us, we shot over but were too late, she ran away before we got there, food was left out in the place where she was fed as we hoped she would come back, I stayed in my truck overnight beside the food but no luck. Searched and put posters up in Dedham, Stratford St Mary, Stoke by Nayland, Bromley, Bentley, Sutton, Mistley and Manningtree ans spoke with lots of walkers and dog walkers alike, nothing! Feeling very disheartened, so near but so far!
Philippa
Fingers crossed here that Xena will be home safely soon.

Hi, have just been speaking to Caroline. Positive sighting in Dedham this evening. Caroline and owners are there as we speak. She has run off across fields. Is it possible to send out alerts to that area? Thanks
Angel Sasha (Bella's Angels)
EmFinch. There was a red brown staffy found wandering in Templars close around that time. My friend sent me details at the time so maybe it was that one that was seen x
EmFinch
We have put posters up in Witham, Rivenhall, Silver End, kelvedon, Bradwell Village, Coggeshall and Coggeshall Hamlet and today searched again in Witham and put posters up in Wickham Bishops, Great Braxted, Little Braxted and Tiptree whilst also searching these areas. There was a sighting on The Avenue in Witham on Thursday 7.30am which has now been confirmed as not being Xena and a possible in Templars Close in Witham, Saturday 8.35am though I'm not convinced as to the validity of this one, so no confirmed sighting since Tuesday 5pm in Kelvedon?? Many thanks to all the volunteers who are helping, you are all very, very kind people, just hoping for a sighting so we have something to go on!

What fab people you are, as always. Caroline, it is possible she has doubled back - they do do that. Well done sweet Tiga and super Jenny. At least we know these sightings were her. Is there a triangle forming? Witham at one point, Kelvedon two, and......? at 3rd point? Take a guess where it may be and poster there too. It could be either side where a triangle could form. Poster Witham again too. Come on Xena, come home girl. Caroline and Philppa, can owners make sure they leave gate open and an old blanket and maybe food and drink at home, in case she turns up in the night? x
Buzz and Amber

Brill! Thanks Philippa x
Philippa
Hi Angel Sasha - I have swapped the pictures over so the poster should show the sharper picture now..
Angel Sasha (Bella's Angels)
hiya, i was hoping to get out and do some postering this afternoon in witham and perhaps towards Maldon. The poster pic is poor though. Can we get an updated, clearer picture please or at least use the extra image as the poster image in the short term? Thanks x
CarolineU
There's a reported sighting of a "big brownish dog" running in and out of gardens in The Avenue, Witham. Quite a way from the Coggeshall side of Kelvedon where she was scented, but where she went missing from.
Tiga
Tiga tracked for 6 hours last night until he got cramp and we had to call it a night but he did confirm the sightings and they all linked up.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Fantastic. Now you really need to get to her as quick as poss as you know whos are around there. Keep up the scenting towards home - asap - by owner. Bumping again. x
CarolineU
Sighting in Kelvedon last night. Many thanks for the for the advice Kimmybear!
Philippa
Thanks Kimmybear - I listed Xena for a friend of a friend but I have forwarded the email advice to them both. Unfortunately I am in Hants so very limited in the help I can give other than to send get home safely wishes. I will make sure that those on the spot know about your advice. Many thanks

Have posted the link everywhere on Facebook, all the Rhodesian Ridgeback sites, RR UK Lost and Found etc. Good luck in finding her.
DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
Philippa, do everything in the email I sent you and do the scenting from where she was seen to lead her back home. Ensure you lead her safely though and not across any big roads. Otherwise leave a scent trail to a safe place and leave an old blanket or something there too, along with a poster. And, leave some food and water with it. When she calms down, she may even return by herself. Anyone who is looking for this girl, please be careful not to chase - let her come to you. Keep some smelly food on you, sit or kneel so you are not a threat, and throw food until she comes to you. Do NOT chase. Poster, poster, poster! Let's get this baby home. x

Hi, I live in Witham and my dogs went missing last year, I put up posters and someone rang me and they were reunited with me. They were found on the Rivenhall golf course/range and the grounds man took them in, he did not know what to do until he saw my posters, What Iam trying to get at is give the Golf place a call and put up a poster near the golf range. I hope you find Xena soon, I know how heart breaking it is. I will keep my eyes open and try and get a post near the golf place for you if that helps?Last edited: 2013-04-24 06:15:51 by Angus

Sorry - looks like it has worked. I just needed to do a ctrl f5 update page.THx
Philippa
I now have a better photo but can't seem to get it update. Can anyone tell me the process? Thanks
Angel Sasha (Bella's Angels)
I believe that Xena was spotted on Sunday running in road between Rickstones Academy and Rivenhall. Unfortunately due to illness I was unable to get out and search.

The dog belongs to a friend of one of our Angels who will be out today putting some posters up. I have shared on my FB wall but need to share on Things for Sale in Witham selling page and Things for sale in Witham & silver end selling page. I will try as on both these sites but limited in what I can do on iPhone.

I live in Witham so if owner gets any sightings I will be happy to offer the help of Bella's Angels for searching etc. I will go out this evening when I'm home from London and have a drive around. X
