So glad Jake is home safe-that is some walk from Moss Side to Sale. Have you anything you can give him from his old home as a comforter while he adjusts to his new home? It might help him. Such a relief for you all that he's back safe and sound.Hope all his new adventures are with you-there's never a dull moment with a Border Collie! Welcome home Jake.

I am very happy to say that Jake is now safely back home...woo hoo!!!

This is the message I have just received from his family:

Hi Jackalee,
Just wanted to let you know that we have got Jake back safe and sound, he had gone to his previous owner in Sale who was away over the weekend Jake stayed close to the flat where his owner lived and when he came back he reported it to the dogs home and they gave him our number. We then had another phone call to say he had been seen as we had put the posters up everywhere, please may i say a BIG THANK YOU TO ALL YOUR MEMBERS AND OF COURSE YOU for all your help, if there is anything we can do please let us know, once again THANK YOU xxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx

Welcome Home Jake, big hugs from all at DogLost xxx

Go out v.late at night especially all around Asda-ask in asda too- staff& shoppers might have seen him esp. in the small hrs.(staff are friendly & helpful in there)& plaster all around with posters. With luck he'll stick around there because there's food, fingers crossed he's home safe and sound v soon Shared with people who are working/living round there. I'll keep an eye out for Jake-I have Border Collies too.

Thanks Jayne :)

That is great nessa, that was just after he got out. I'll pass the info on to the owners as it will confirm that he did go in that direction.

I saw Jake on the grass area near Hulme Asda after 6pm Friday when I was driving into Manchester (I'm a collie lover so always spot them) but thought he was with someone as there were a few people around and he was sticking to the grass :(
Will share it and keep everything crossed this lovely lad gets home soon.
Carol
Wonder if he is heading back to dogs home xx

Thanks for checking Becky, much appreciated :)

Now added a 'similar photo' Val sent me via Facebook. Jake has black dots on the white side of his muzzle and his tail is white. The family don't have any photos as they had just got him from a local dogs home. Jake escaped after a gate was left open.
