Thank you everyone for the truly amazing support and interest you have all shown in this little fella. Sue you have been an absolute brick and so kind to all the family. We cannot believe what an organisation you have behind you and the extent of the generosity you all show. Without Doglost, the loss of Wellie would have remained an absolute mystery and we should always have wondered about the outcome. He was happy with his pals until the very last before his final adventure, and we have him home where his ashes can now be buried next to the chums he made in his long and cheerful life. That's good for all of us. What a team, what a network and what an experience, one we shall never forget. Sue, you are a marvel! We will stay in touch.

Thank you Mollychops....I know how hard this must have been for you...as always you handled this proffessionaly with compassion....When HQ received the call I immediately informed Mollychops who said she would call the sighter back and establish the exact whereabouts before alerting the owners....Tx for giving them closure...you are indeed a star....

So sad to see this news. Wellington was well loved by his family and didn't suffer from being lost and frightened for weeks, but must have died soon after going missing. RIP old boy. x

Dear Wellies body was seen by a canooist on an island near the village of Foy, not far down stream from where he went missing. She went home and had a look on here and realised the body may well be Wellingtons, and she contacted us. It was really kind of her to do this, as Wellies owners may never have had closure. This morning with the help of a marvellous river ghillie called Clive, Wellies owners now have him back . Sleep in peace little man,Its a terribly sad outcome but at least the owners now know what happened.

Wellie went missing on the banks of the Wye on a fishing trip. He isn't from the area. Owners are back searching and postering. Its unlikely he went in the river. Its quite low at the moment with no current and plenty of sandy patches further down he would have got out... Not sure about the chip. He may be chipped to owners son. But they have had him with them for a very long time, so they will contact him, to find out
