So sorry to hear about this. Of all places to go missing from! I hope he's found soon. Can I just say something though in probable defence of who may have taken this dog? I agree with those who are saying that it's not safe to leave a dog tied up outside anywhere anymore and I have said as much myself on occasions but it could be that whoever took Jack may have taken him in all innocence and with good intention. Seeing a dog tied up outside a shop is more usual and an open opportunity to any dog thief if the dog is friendly. Seeing a dog tied up outside a church is more unusual and, particularly if the dog does not have a tag, could easily look as if the dog had been abandoned. If that is the case and they have taken him to a shelter then they should be able to get him back to you with the chip but it is worth trying the local shelters anyway as we have seen some in the past that haven't scanned the animals by the time the owner has turned up looking for it.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So sorry to hear about the thieve of Jack. It is such an horrendous experience, but don't give up, just get pictures and posters up everywhere, publicity from any means possible and register with as many sites as possible on-line. Registering with Doglost will be the best thing you've done, but without the photo we are at a lose for an accurate identification of Jack. Good luck with your search and hope Jack is home soon.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Angelita and Ceebee, sounds like a good idea we need to spread the word. I agree that doglost name needs to be kept off any posters etc as it could do more harm than good. XX Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hope Jack comes home soon. I've spoken to Jayne in the past about the poster thing, thought of a flyer or postcard size that could be left on cars, shop windows, vets, groomers, etc, or a smaller tag type thing that could be tied to the dogs lead- we don't necessarily have to include Doglost details on it, in case of reprisals etc, as owners may not like it- but could just be a polite reminder-what do you think?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just emailed a poster idea to Jayne and would be happy to pass it on to anyone else if she is happy with it. In the meantime, good luck with finding Jack. Those who took him must be the lowest of the low to take him from outside a church. I hope he is reunited soon xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I know what you mean Doglover, just the other day I sat in my car waiting for the owner to return whilst there dog was tied up outside!!! I think we should start a national campaign, warning people not to tie there dogs up outside!!! Maybe everyone could do a few notices and give them out to supermarkets, eventually word will get around, i know some of the shops near us have a sign up. Hope Jack is home soon. I do hope Jack comes home soon. I'm not far from you in Dudley and will certainly look out for him and put posters around as soon as a picture is available. All the best.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Word has got to get through to the general public not to leave their pets tied up outside anywhere, this is the 21st century it is just not safe anymore which is such a shame. Sorry Jack's owners if that is harsh and i am so sorry that you have had to learn the hard way, now that this has happened maybe you can now stop other people going through what you are now. Come home soon Jack stay safe darling. XXLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
