- I went to Enfield Council to see their stray dog photos but the photos aren't open to the public. Their stray dog service is run by Waltham Forest and Enfield said they would ask them if they had had Maila. Unclaimed dogs are then sent to All Dogs Matter so I have asked them too

- Prank calls - let me tell you about those. There are some sick "people" out there who are not like us, they have no feelings like us. All they get is some sick fun. We have had owners go through this when their dog is back home - so we know its all a farce! Now, the other type of call you might get is where they want money for the return of your dog Do they really have her or not? Well, you have to deal with it best you can and do let the police know and us, but your dog comes first. NEVER part with money unless your dog is in front of you, if she isn't then they REALLY do NOT have her! Get your dog back safe and remember your own safety too. Sadly, there are horrible sociopaths out there. As CS said, they are in the minority, but it does upset badly. Ignore them and carry on. CS you are doing a fantastic job here, thank you. You could use the prank calls in your favour Sopra, as newspapers don't always run stories on missing dogs, but if you throw in the horrible calls, that will make a story. What this does is get publicity for Maila and hopefully, help get her home! Please try it! x
- 2013-07-09 22:43 cs
- I see that www.enfieldindependent.co.uk accepts pictures and news etc by email - maybe the owners could write Maila's story and include this lovely photo of her - let me know if you would like help before I go on holiday on Monday and I will text you my email address so we can write a good piece?
- 2013-07-07 23:16 sopra1987
- Thank you,its 7weeks and 1day when Maila is missing,we got to much pranks calls but its not so sad like dont know were is my sweaty Maila ...
- 2013-07-07 07:56 cs
- I'm so sorry you have to put up with that kind of thing on top of all you are going through. Its a shame there are some people out there like that - all the people I speak to on the streets and in the parks are really nice and want to help, they wish you good luck and they all say they will looking out for her - one man even said a prayer in the street for Maila to be found soon
- 2013-07-07 00:44 sopra1987
- Thank you cs for your help realy...last night we get call from real prank how realy make us angry, whay they doing like that, at 2 am they was calling and telling very not nice think...still have same hope, but ...
- 2013-07-06 16:03 cs
- Everyone was out in the park this morning. I met 4 people who had already called the owners with sightings in and around Pymmes Park and 1 other whose friend had done so - these are definitely not prank calls, there really does seem to have been at least one and possibly two black and white jack russells around there. I met Caroline who works in a group that looks after the park and the wildlife in it as well as pet dogs and cats. She knows all about Maila's posters and what her markings are and is well aware of the need to keep a look-out for her. She confirmed what someone else I had just met told me which is there was black and white jack russell found in the park which was traced back to a woman in Edmonton Green. But that was before the fair. She said that the fairground people had a dog of their own, which might have been the JR the ice cream man saw at the fair, although he did tell me it looked as if it wasn't theirs. Someone told me there is a male b/w JR called Scooby who goes to the park so it is possible the sightings after the time of the fair were of him, but maybe not. I think that Caroline and the park group would know if there was a lost dog in the park - she rescued a poor dog tied to a bench there last week - and I gave a poster to a council van in the park too (who also knew of the posters) so in a way we can relax a bit about Pymmes Park and focus elsewhere. The posters are holding up quite well but it would be good to poster in other areas now
- 2013-07-05 19:57 cs
- I am coming out tomorrow morning and will focus on Pymmes Park and around there. Someone must have seen the mystery dog
- 2013-07-03 21:22 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Keep those posters going up and try postering further out at any parks you can find in any borough. AS has been said, even Enfield is helping, so keep going. You are doing well. Please everyone keep looking around Pymmes Park. x
- 2013-07-02 08:01 cs
- That's very good that Maila is known in Enfield and also that it might still be her in or around Pymmes Park
- 2013-07-01 23:27 sopra1987
- No this dog was in Enfield..
- 2013-07-01 19:03 cs
- Where was this dog seen - was it the mystery Pymmes Park Jack Russell?
- 2013-07-01 11:01 sopra1987
- We get call from lady on saturday, she said she found jack russell, but later she call us and let us know that is male and is not Maila.we put some post around our area and Pymmes park...still have some hope...she missing like 6weeks and 2days :(
- 2013-06-30 12:54 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- We've got another JR "Lucky" missing from Edmonton. Please keep eyes out for both and as has been said, do check with DWs - more than once. Also, DWs of neighbouring boroughs as they do travel to rescues/kennels. x
- 2013-06-30 12:51 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- Okay, I'm going to bump because of these sightings. We need to know who this furry one is and whether it is Maila? You are doing great out there! Keep us posted here. Don't let this put you off checking other avenues as well, just in case. Thanks Abb for posting, as always. x Last edited: 2013-06-30 12:51:40 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

- I made mistake i fink, because she lost from 18.05.2013
- 2013-06-28 15:51 Battersea
- Report also made at BDCH ref 00046969.
Is the date correct we have the date as lost 18th June? - 2013-06-28 12:30 sopra1987
- I will try to go in this area tomorow, maybe rain destroed the post i have a look.and try to find out about the dog wich they saw.
- 2013-06-28 11:43 cs
- That's amazing, I did think you were going to say it was Pymmes Park. There is definitely something going on: either Maila is in the area or its another dog which looks like her, there have now been so many reported sightings in that area. If its not her we still need to know that there is this other dog. We need to keep going there and asking people, maybe there are friends and family who could go there this weekend
- 2013-06-27 19:57 sopra1987
- She saw near Pymmes park.
- 2013-06-27 19:15 cs
- That possible sighting sounds interesting - did the lady say where it was that she saw the dog that looks like Maila?
- 2013-06-27 17:16 sopra1987
- I put again in gumtree, today i got call, the lady said that she so one lady walking with a dog like Maila and she ask did she have the Maila because thevdog looks like in post, but she just said no and run away, and that lady said that she gona look around for that lady and if something she gona call me.Maila vet is in Pets at home , we call them, on weekend we gona go to speak with them.thank you again everyone for help x
- 2013-06-27 15:17 cs
- The fair was no longer there by the time I heard from the ice cream van man. I have emailed round the vets again and made enquiries of some online postings although I don't know which vet Maila was with, no doubt the owners will be checking in with their own vet regularly. I don't know if Maila is still advertised on Gumtree and Exchange & Mart, she didn't come up there when I looked this time. There are a number of found Jack Russells on www.animalwardens.co.uk but owners would need to call as there are no photos or details. I am sorry not to come out this weekend - I think we probably need to check on posters on Fore Street and nearer home as many will have been pulled down again by now and to keep the word out. I keep feeling that when people see us with posters on the street and ask about Maila, someone will give us a lead of some kind ...
- 2013-06-26 12:34 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- We never say never on DogLost - we hear the most amazing stories of dogs getting home weeks, months even years later. But, we so hope Maila is back much quicker than that. Speak to the fairground people - are they travelling through? Make sure you advise there is a reward but don't say how much - just say "a lot" - as this will plant the seed should they know anything. You may well get prank calls but some may hold clues, depending on whether they are just evil (so ignore) or fishing for reward. Never, ever pay money unless your dog is in front of you. If they really have your dog, she will be there. Okay? Good. Most genuine people do not claim rewards but it helps get information from those in the know. Onwards and upwards. Let's make this baby too hot to handle. x

- 2013-06-23 20:04 cs
- Postered around Tatem Park and Bruce Castle Park and a bit to the north of Church Street - I am away next weekend so can't come over but fingers crossed postering in the new areas brings some good response

- cs thank you so much for your help..still have some hope she came back..
- 2013-06-22 17:16 cs
- The very nice man who runs the ice cream van in Pymmes Park said he saw a dog which looked like Maila (200% sure - but who knows?) on Monday in the park near the fairground area. He has a poster now in his van and will keep a look-out, says he is there all the time. I checked on posters in the area, renewing where necessary and moving into other residential areas near that park. Glad to see many of the posters remained in place.
- 2013-06-21 11:20 cs

- 2013-06-16 18:54 cs
- I have just seen on DogLost another dog lost in Edmonton - a staffie - was reunited (picked up by dog warden) so it does happen
- 2013-06-16 14:45 cs
- It must be so hard for you with all these false alarms. It does mean though that all these other people know she is lost and want to help try to find her which is so good because you can't do it on your own
- 2013-06-16 10:49 sopra1987
- i was trying, but dont know how to put , i will try again.one lady call us that she so Maila in Montagu road, but its not maila, and one lady call that ahe so a dog in pymmes park, but is not Maila too :(
- 2013-06-16 10:45 cs
- I can't get out to put posters up this weekend unfortunately, hopefully next weekend. I think we have to carry on with posters, maybe a bit further away now
- 2013-06-14 14:17 cs
- Maybe the owners could put an advert in the Enfield Advertiser or Enfield Independent or other local paper or even better try to get an article published as a news item
- 2013-06-14 11:25 sopra1987
- still no news about Maila, miss her so much :(
- 2013-06-12 12:29 sopra1987
- sue thank you it wood be great.yes we wont give up its to important to find Maila, my childrens asking every day when Maila gona came back home.thank you again for your help everyone and for dont give up.x
- 2013-06-12 10:11 cs
- We won't give up. Its best to keep calling the dog wardens again regularly including the dog wardens of the next areas to you - Barnet 07825 098 947, Haringey 020 8489 5546, Waltham Forest 0208 496 3000 as well as Battersea Dogs Home - we can't rely on them to call if they have her they are so busy, even though they should of course
- 2013-06-12 09:49 B30
- Sopra1987 I will get Maila a small advert with her photo in the Countryman's Weekly magazine but it will be a couple of weeks before it's published.
- 2013-06-12 09:36 sopra1987
- today is 25days like my baby Maila is missing :( and no signed about real her :( just today the lady call me from Hertford road, she was in vets and she heart that they found the dog, so she call me to let me know, i call them but its not Maila :( we miss her so much :(
- 2013-06-09 18:05 cs
- I had a good look and postered around Angel Corner and elsewhere including Lee Valley golf course and caravan park. Hopefully with the fair on in Pymmes Park lots of people will see the posters. I will contact all the vets I gave posters to so they know Maila is still lost and that they should keep their posters up. I would suggest calling all the dog wardens and shelters and Battersea Dogs Home again because you just can't trust people to check thoroughly and get things right. Personally I would also definitely go and look at the Civic Centre photographs of dogs held, for that same reason.
- 2013-06-08 21:18 sopra1987
- we put about 50-100 posters in montagu road and around our home in our area.today one girl call us she said she saw Maila near angel corner but we was looking around but its nothing :( still missing Maila :(
- 2013-06-08 11:42 cs
- I put up about 30 posters particularly around Jubilee Park and Pymmes Park area. People are very interested and quite a few know about her already from the posters so we have to keep going. Will be back tomorrow
- 2013-06-08 11:07 sopra1987
- today is 3weeks like Maila is missing :( we miss her so much :(
- 2013-06-06 12:37 sopra1987
- i live here 3years but i didn saw any similar dog like Maila, i hope Maila gona came back soon home :(
- 2013-06-06 07:43 cs
- I did meet a man near Maila's home who said he owns a male Jack Russell very similar to Maila and he keeps getting stopped by people saying he had the lost dog - so people do know about her and that she is missing which is a very good thing. We need to keep postering in new areas and by stations and other public places, I will come over at the weekend
- 2013-06-05 23:19 sopra1987
- today was two calls from people who fink so Maila in Pymmes park, but it was jack russell but male and not Maila.when they call us i was so happy, because i was finking that i'm going to see my cute baby girl Maila, but .... :(((( Maila sweety came home we miss you so much :(((
- 2013-06-05 17:29 cs

- 2013-06-04 08:48 sopra1987
- again thank you for all the help ..
- 2013-06-04 08:47 sopra1987
- no news about Maila :( i still hope she is ok and she going to came back home soon... we miss her so much :(
cs Enfield civic centre have Maila foto, when we called them to tell that she missing. - 2013-06-03 14:41 cs
- Enfield's dog warden webpage http://www.enfield.gov.uk/info/432/animals-dogs-warden_services/601/stray_dogs/5 says the public can go Monday to Friday 9am -4.30pm to the Civic Centre in Enfield to see the list and photographs of dogs they have picked up as stray. So might be worth a visit as information given over the telephone might not be reliable
- 2013-06-03 11:22 cs
- I have delivered/emailed posters to 10 vets in the surrounding area for them to display in their surgeries
- 2013-06-02 23:30 Carol
- I do hope you get her back soon xx
- 2013-06-02 22:40 sopra1987
- i still have some hope that Maila gona came back.yes its so upsetting that some pranks dont understand that we miss Maila so much :(
- 2013-06-02 20:38 cs
- sorry to hear you are still getting prank calls, it must be so upsetting but maybe someone knows something? At least it means people know she is lost and if they do see her on her own or even with someone else then they will know there is a reward for her safe return
- 2013-06-02 18:23 sopra1987
- thank you very much for all your help cs.yesterday one prank call us again :(( still missing Maila, we miss her so much :(
- 2013-06-02 12:12 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- Tx cs for all you are doing and the feedback...have bumped due to potential sighting....
- 2013-06-02 12:07 cs
- Put up about 50 more in the plastic wallets which are working well. A man said he had seen a small black and white Jack Russell in Pymmes Park yesterday but no sign at all when I went there and none of the locals I met there had seen Maila - one thought she had already been found. There have been other false alarms from that park but who knows she might be in that area.
- 2013-06-01 18:01 cs
- I put up 50 posters in plastic wallets today mostly to replace old ones torn down or damaged by the weather and will do same again tomorrow. There are still a lot of the old ones up though. Hopefully someone will find Maila and give the owners a call.
- 2013-05-31 18:09 cs
- I will come out tomorrow to check on posters after all this horrible rain and put up more
- 2013-05-30 16:48 cs
- I delivered posters to some of the vets today, the rest I will do as soon as I can. Fingers crossed there is some good news soon - maybe by early next week I would hope
- 2013-05-29 19:21 sopra1987
- we call them all today and register the Maila .
- 2013-05-29 16:26 cs
- No problem I will take posters to the vets tomorrow
- 2013-05-29 13:27 sopra1987
- now i cant to go to all of the vets because my husband is at work and i am with my children, they so disappointed, they was finking that Maila gona came back today.if you can deliver posts to vets i would greatly appreciate.
- 2013-05-29 13:15 cs
- how frustrating and disappointing - I think the owners are trying to get back in touch with the woman whose aunt found the jack russell yesterday in case there is any more information - we will keep on going. Many of the posters have been damaged by rain although still legible and although some have been torn down there are many many still up. People seem aware that she's missing and the call from that woman shows at least the posters are doing their job. Can the owners deliver posters to the vets in the area on that list or let me know if would like me to
- 2013-05-29 11:10 sopra1987
- its not Maila its male :(
- 2013-05-29 11:03 sopra1987
- we phoned them but they told that they dont know yet about her nothong, if something they gona call us.
- 2013-05-29 10:43 sopra1987
- its realy looks like Maila, thank you for info, i going to call them...

- 2013-05-29 06:36 cs
- That's exciting news, I will still go out this morning and if it is Maila who has been found then i will be able to start taking posters down instead ... fingers crossed
- 2013-05-29 00:04 sopra1987
- we just got a call from a lady, her aunt just found jack russell female and she took her to vet so i hope its Maila and she is ok :)
- 2013-05-28 21:50 sopra1987
- again was having call from children who just want to make like laugh..i am so tire from calls like this...when people gona understand that Maila is very important for our family, she is one of us.i still hope she gona come back home :)
- 2013-05-28 13:26 cs
- I am hoping to go out again tomorrow morning to check on posters and put more up. Time for a genuine sighting now.
- 2013-05-26 13:42 cs
- Put up more posters this morning. Seems there are bored children (lets hope its that) tearing down some of the owners' posters so I stuck them back up where possible. For the moment they seem to be leaving the DogLost posters alone (perhaps because they look more official?) but it may be just a matter of time. Apparently there was another prank call/false sighting, but at least it shows people are aware she is a lost dog. We need to keep checking on the posters as well as putting up more and just getting out there speaking to people etc. I have given the owners a printout of the list of vets in the area from the DogLost site so they can give them posters as well. I have been marking all the posters with "Reward" so hopefully the new DogLost posters and the reward signs will be a good trigger for anyone who has found Maila to realise the owners are serious and that they should give her back. Also she is chipped thankfully!

- I put up nearly 100 posters this morning and there is room for plenty more. The owners have already put up a lot of their own although some of their posters have been torn down for some reason. I have suggested they use colour DogLost posters and will drop some round to them tomorrow.

- Just spoken to the owner and unfortunately there has been no word of poor Maila for almost a week now although some prank calls leading to nothing. She is thought to have been heading in the direction of Edmonton Green. They have agreed that the posters should now offer a reward. I will go out tomorrow and have a look around and put up some more posters

- Sorry to see that MAILA is missing.
- If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
- Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
- A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (52631)
- Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
- You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
- Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
- If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
- If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
- Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
- DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
