So very sorry for your loss. Tripp looks so like my sister`s late Staffie. Night, night Tripp, sleep tight, and have fun at the bridge with your pals. At least you have closre, and can lay your boy to rest. Tripp will still be with you in spirit, and remain in your hearts too. Comforting ((((HUGS)))) are being sent to you from me. Thank you everyone for all your kind messages, i have picked up his ashes today, so i will be raising a drink to the Tripp-miester at about 9pm, so any others who wishes to raise a glass at the same time, I'm sure he will hear us. Am also thinking of a proper goodbye this Sunday, if people want to say goodbye to him, let me know & i'll organise a venue & time.

Hi Mark - I updated The Horses Trust and all the other horse related organisations I'd approached about publicity regarding Tripp. Lorna at The Horses Trust emailed me back to say they'd put the poster up at the Home which they will now take down. Lorna asked me to pass on their sincere condolences and that they are so terribly sorry.

Mark i am so upset for you, i too was following Tripp and was willing you to find him, but not like this. I have a soft spot for staffis, they are so gentle and "human" like, i am sure you will know what i mean. I lost my some years ago and miss her sooo badly she was such a darling. R.I.P. Every minute and mile spent searching fields, copses and hedgerows, tacking posters to lampposts, handing out leaflets to strangers and making new friends on the journey was all done for a very special boy. So sad that we couldn't have a happy ending but at least he can now be laid to rest. Tripp will always be in my heart and I feel honoured to have been part of 'Team Tripp'. Hi everyone, i wish to say a big thank you for all your help in trying to find Tripp. We were re-united with him today, but unfortunately he didn't make it, my original & worst fears were realised as Donna found him under the cover of the swimming pool at the farm.

So R.I.P. Tripp you will always be in our hearts & will be remembered as the fun loving little dude that you were, always with me in spirit, I love you little man.

One last request, could we have some assistance taking down any of the lost posters that you see, as it would take an age for us to find all the one's that everyone has posted for us.

Hi, we heard about Tripp via our friends at Wheelhouse a few weeks ago - we've since shared the poster our facebook page which has a good number of local likes.
Re Shardeloes BBQ, we should be going (emergencies permitting), so will spread the word there. We're also keeping an eye out while on the yard and also on calls locally. We'll take our own dogs out for a run this weekend at Shardeloes too.
Re walkers for Amersham on the Hill residential area - one of us lives there, so we'll walk a few different routes with the dogs over the coming weeks.

I have restocked the Wheelhouse in Chesham and the RSPCA charity shops in Amersham and Chesham with flyers and new posters. Also updated the RSPCA FB page. Have been driving around all day between Chenies, Little Chalfont, Amersham and Chesham. A dog flew out of a hedge in front of my car on Holloway Lane this morning, a springer spaniel hot on the heels of a rabbit!! Managed to block the road, stop the traffic, get hold of her and return her to the grateful owner, leaving me and the back seat of my car very wet and muddy. At least it gave me the chance to hand out yet another leaflet, although the woman was aware after seeing posters. Next time can it please be you Tripp x

Sunshine, you're a treasure. We really need a sighting, and for that to happen people need to be aware of Tripp, and you've really gone above and beyond in achieving that. Thank you. I don't think I've sent you a map of Tripp's known movements so I'll get that emailed to you now. The theory is that dogs move in an anti-clockwise triangle, then go back over the same ground. The red line on the map is where Tiga has tracked Tripp's movements, and the blue cross was our one confirmed sighting. The coloured lines are the routes for our walkers on Sunday, it should give you a better idea or where we think Tripp is moving around. Thanks again.

I've emailed a few stables/yards in Seer Green and Chalfont including the Bicknells who run Hodgemoor Riding Assoc which is involved with the upkeep and maintenance of Hodgemoor Woods which is a popular dog walking/riding area. James from Widmer came back to me and said he is also on the committee for Hodgemoor and would ensure all the members were made aware of Tripp which is essentially every horse owner/rider/proprietor in the area. He is also printing the poster off and putting it up in his feed room so all his clients will see it.

Wrt posters in Chesham - long story short we cannot put up posters and any that do will be removed. Currently a zero tolerance policy in fly posting regardless of subject. Maria at the Town Hall hasq said if some posters/flyers are dropped into the Town Hall she will put on Reception Desk which has a good foot fall and will also put the poster on the notice board in the Town Centre. The earliest I can get to Chesham will be Wednesday next week. Is there anybody else who has posters/flyers who could get there sooner?

I picked the worst morning weather wise to do my leaflet drop! I had to call it a day after an hour and a half as both me and my buggy were soaked through. On the positive side of things I spoke the Pomeroy Inn who will display the poster - also met their cleaner who took a leaflet as she is in Amersham, I also asked and got a yes to putting up the poster from Kwik Fit, Grant and Stone Ltd, Amersham Plant and Tool Hire, Audi, the Hairdressers (lady said she was already aware of Tripp and put the poster up there and then in her window), the Village Hall, Chalfont Oriental and paper shop near them - the poster was up in their window when I was heading back to my car. The BP garage already has a poster up in their loo foyer area.

My 3G wouldn't work so I couldn't check the exact areas on here I was supposed to leaflet so I hazarded a guess and I put flyers through houses to the left of the Pomferoy Inn as you leave it and I also did Pineapple Road, Mulberry Close, Lea Court, Pear Tree Close. I didn't do the private road or the school which is tucked away round the back of Pineapple Road though I reckon a few flyers at home time wouldn't be a bad idea if anyone could do that? I did the remainder of the houses right up to the One Stop shop on the main road, I didn't go up the cul-de-sac where Kwik Fit is. The rain was hitting us hard by this point so I made an executive decision. I will go back and do the houses on the other side of the road was soon as I have a chance. Might be able to go again tomorrow afternoon.

I'm planning on going to the Lurcher Day on 6th at West Wycombe Polo and I have leaflets and posters so could take those. I've also put a poster on my dashboard. Can't stick it up in the rear windows as they are tinted.

My friend at TVRC has told me her friend has put the link to Tripp's poster up on the British Dressage forum so that's a few more hundred people reached and hopefully some will be in/around Chesham/Little Chalfont.

SUNDAY WALKERS: I'm planning to send out some notes to everyone in the next couple of hours. I think you all have a small map of your own route, but I will send you a map which shows everyone else's routes for information. If you haven't received the notes and map by this evening, please contact me and I'll re-send.

We don't have any walkers for the residential area of Amersham on the Hill, so if anyone out there would like to join in informally please do. In Little Chalfont, Tripp was around houses, but was tracked down an overgrown path between houses to a very overgrown patch of land at the back of the houses - so this is probably the sort of area to search if you spot it. Tripp's being drawn to food smells, but wants somewhere nearby to hide - good luck, he's out there, we just need to spot him.

LEAFLETS:
As we're having problems with the posters, the leaflets are important. Tomorrow, a lot of people will be out shopping, so if you could be out there handing out leaflets, that would help to spread the word. If you need leaflets, there are some in my front porch, email me for the address.

Shops in Chesham are still displaying Tripp's poster, a poster & flyers are going up to Ley Hill Golf Club. I have put flyers in Cox's outdoor shop in Chesham. One of my friends reported that the posters have been taken down from the woods up Rectory Hill, Amersham.
Has anyone put posters up in Bellingdon or Bellingdon End Farm?

Morning all, just a quick note to say the Shardeloes Equestrian Centre BBQ is a great idea. Unfortunately Mark and I have prior commitments on the 6th July. I'll speak to him about it tonight and see if we can sort something out, even if we just pop over there for a short while to drop off leaflets and spread the word. Mark has been unwell for the past week, and I'm sorry to say I've caught his lurgy, hoping it doesn't last long.

The dog-walker in Lincoln Park Amersham has been contacted and given leaflets, the other ones were out walking, I don't know their names I'm afraid. Great job!

I will also contact Windmill Farm Livery, Waylands, Widmer - unless these have already been contacted? I'm going to call The Horse Trust too, though based in Lacey Green nr HW their FB page has a huge following (due to Teddy the abandoned foal) and they have an enormous amount of visitors so you just never know! They may decline but as its a Farrier's dog who is missing it may just encourage them to help us.

Have local professional dog walkers in Chesham/Chalfonts/Amersham been contacted? If not let me know and I can google and make calls/send emails.

I'm out this morning but will check in again when I'm home and then start calls/emails etc.

Sunshine: Thanks for all of that Sunshine. All of those emails will really help to spread the word. I've emailed you my address, it will be good to have the posters and leaflets circulating. Thanks again. Re a 'buggy-friendly' road to leaflet. There is a Chinese Take-Away along White Lion Road which I think Tripp would be drawn to as there are strong aromas from there. There is another Chinese in Little Chalfont opposite the car park (is it still there?) When Tripp is in the Little Chalfont section of his route I think either of these would draw him, so would you poster and leaflet homes around there please so people know who to phone if they spot him. Is that ok?

WALKERS: When I've heard from Ninja, our call centre, and our latest volunteer walker, I'll send you all a map of the area showing everyone's routes, and details. I'm no expert, so if anyone has any tips that they would like shared with the walking group, please email me. Things like carrying a torch for searching hedges, smelly food, sausage on your boot or in a bag or sock to trail to where you're having your breakfast etc. Thanks all of you for the support.

Thames Valley Riding Club are going to email their membership and will give out flyers at their SJ on Sunday and High Wycombe Riding Club will give out flyers at their next event and training. So I shall be collecting flyers from Kay sooner rather than later! :-)

HWRC have members in Chalfont and use Oldfields in Seer Green for training so flyers will reach liveries, competitors, clients, visitors.

.....also, there are events worth attending - Chiltern Dog Rescue has their Open Day 6th July at St. Leonards Hall and field; www.lureracing.com fun day -(charity Greyhound gap)on 6th July at the Polo field, West Wycombe, www.lureracing.com fun day with South Bucks Riding club and dog show at Hammer and Harp Farm Hedgerley on Sunday 14th July. I am helping on 6th July at Stokenchurch Dog Rescue Open Day so will spread the word there. Best to ask organisers first as rescue centres may be tetchy about publicising missing dog which did not come from their rescue. BUT, hopefully Tripp will be back home safe and sound by then!

Great to read that the sighting was a positive ID.

Do you still need help with Chesham council as I have contact details for my local Councillor in HW and perhaps he could enquire about the removal of the posters in Chesham?

Unfortunately we have a prior commitment Sunday morning, but I could come over Monday to collect flyers. I don't know Chesham but happy to help.

Shardeloes Farm Equestrian Centre is having a barbecue, from 2pm until 9pm on 6th July. It's free of charge and everyone is welcome. If Tripp is in the vicinity at that time, he will smell this and be attracted. Does anyone ride there, have a livery there, or any connection at all. If Tripp hasn't been found by then, I think someone has to be there all the time, keeping an eye out for Tripp. Mark - is this something you can help with?

SUNDAY WALKERS: We could do with a few more walkers to walk residential areas with smelly food or hot sausages or burgers on Sunday morning. If you can only spare an hour that will help.

If walkers would like to meet up at the dog-friendly H&H coffee shop in Sycamore Road Amersham at around 11 for coffee and cakes it would be good to exchange ideas. Dogs are allowed inside this coffee shop, so humans and canines alike are invited.

Morning everyone. Apologies for not commenting for a few days, Mark and I have been busy catching up on all the things we've been neglecting while looking for Tripp these last 4 weeks (trust me, no one wants to see the state of our house!).

Catching up on all these posts has made me break down and blub at my desk, I'm so grateful to you all for everything you are doing. Mark and I are away this weekend with his daughter Talia at a big family birthday in Wetherby. Seeing that you're coordinating a search, one of us will do our best to be there on sun morning (the other will be looking after Talia).

I think a bbq for all of us would be difficult, but a sausage on the boot - great idea! As long as that sausage is left somewhere for Tripp to find otherwise it seems like teasing him. Oh, if only we can get even a sighting of him on Sunday, then we perhaps could lay a trail to a big dinner for him. I'm walking down to Chesham through the woods in a few minutes. I'll take a sausage with me to put on my boot on the way back, try to lure him to my house!

SUNDAY WALKERS: If any of you want to pack a primus stove with sausages and bacon and stop for breakfast en route, could be a good idea! If you fancy horse hoof trimmings as a side dish even better. Could just attract Tripp, but if you don't see him and move on, please leave a sausage there for him to find.

I have been taking a candle-powered plate-warmer with some pre-cooked sausages on my early morning stints. The sausages on the plate warmer are just as smelly, and it's all a bit cleaner and easier than a primus or barbecue.

Hi, yes I can help on Sunday morning. I'm OK with hills and reasonably long walks - and don't mind which of the areas (Kay has e-mailed me the map). Will it be OK if I bring my own dog (Ronnie)? He's definitely no scent hound, but is very "other dog friendly". Please say if you'd rather I didn't bring him. BTW, my name is also Sam H - not to be confused with the other SamH on here. I would normally happily volunteer to take my horse round the area too, as someone suggested below, however I'm out all day Saturday doing an 80km endurance ride, so the horse will need to be completely rested for a few days after that. Am happy to ride out some other weekend though if it helps(but hopefully that won't be needed because Tripp will have been found by then!)

Just a couple of points:-
Did Tripp show himself to the meals on wheels lady because the van was similar to marks? I suppose also the smell of food.
It would help you a lot if you got a dry week. Much like in Africa when it rains it's impossible to see the animals, but in a dry spell they have to show themselves at the watering holes.
Lets pray for no rain a week do there's no puddles for him to drink from.
The horse idea is very good. Can cover so much more ground.
Is the mobile signal good everywhere?? Need for walkie talkies??

The centre of the search triangle is Chestnut Lane in Amersham on the Hill. If there are volunteers who don't want to walk, but would be prepared to drive slowly around this residential area between 8 and 10 on Sunday morning, stopping to check any pathways or hedges that would be tremendously useful. The walkers can then go over the fields, woods and footpaths. Two or three cars would be ideal.

I was wondering how to get people back to their starting point, and I think we can cover the same ground if walkers do a small triangle going, for example, from 1 to the centre of the triangle, back to the mid point of line 1-2, then back to 1: from 2 to the centre of the triangle, back to the mid point of line 2-3, then back to 2 etc. Not sure if there's a very obvious error in my thinking, but I think that covers the same ground but we'll each be back at our cars.

I can also map shorter walks if that suits some people. So far, 6 volunteers who can do the 3 triangles, with more volunteers we can map shorter walks in the gaps, so every person out there will be valuable.

Sam99 says that the lady who spotted Tripp saw him when she was delivering meals on wheels, so he was out and about at lunch time! So we can all keep a look out for him during daylight hours as well.

Barbs: We'll see how many volunteers we get. If some people don't have the time or energy to do the full leg they could perhaps continue on to the next point, so from 1 to 2, 2 to 3 etc without doing the trek across the triangle. We can work out routes when we know how many people we have, but yes, slightly different routes will cover more ground. Posters and leaflets would be good.
Sam: JB pointed out that there are hidey holes around the fitness centre, so a good place to check out.
I can put you both in touch via email if you'd like to do the walk together on Sunday if that's ok with you both, then you can decide on a meeting place and time.

I was stopped this afternoon at Tesco, by Susie, the lady who saw and reported the sighting of Tripp at Kiln Ave/Sandycroft. She had seen the posters in my car and followed me into the car park for an update on news. It was great to tell her that Tiga confirmed that it was Tripp she had seen. We had a long chat and she is keeping her eyes peeled wherever she goes. Have got her number and have promised to let her know as soon as Tripp is safely back at home.
I can help and join in the search on Sunday, or an evening this week.
My son is at the open air swimming pool tomorrow at 8pm for a party, so I will have a search round then as well.

Regarding Sunday, early mornings aren’t normally good for me, but could probably make arrangements if it’s the weekend. Ideally, if we can get a few more volunteers, walkers should at least be in pairs for safety reasons. Rough guesstimate, looks like each leg would be about 5 miles. There will be an amount of map reading to do and maybe a little bit of postering could be done en route at any key points?
I presume the idea would be to take smaller roads and cross-country paths where possible and for outgoing and incoming routes to each point to be slightly different to cover as much ground as possible?

Hi everyone. That's so annoying about the posters..does anyone know someone in Chesham council/cleaning depts that could speak to them and explain the situation .. that we are trying to get sightings reported as we know Tripp has been/is in the area? Sometimes it helps, and you could assure them they would be taken down when Tripp is found.

Kay has produced a map marking all the routes Tiga has tracked and marking the sighting.
I have a suggestion and that is for say 3 groups of volunteers to walk as follows using points 1, 2 & 3

Walker A walks from point 3 towards point 2 and when he gets 1/2 way they then walk to point 1 (across the centre)
Walker B walks from point 2 towards point 1 and when he gets 1/2 way they then walk to point 3 (across the centre)
Walker C walks from point 1 towards point 3 and when he gets 1/2 way they then walk to point 2 (across the centre)

A lot of ground would be covered and it would be a good idea to do this at the same time - anyone up for it?

I walked my springers up Bunns Lane around 6.30 this evening then circled back down and along Chess Valley Walk, then up the small footpath to Hill Farm and just past the farm before the heavens opened and I got soaked going back to the car parked at the bottom of the road from Hill Farm, nothing moving apart from an odd rabbit seen.

Have walked and postered more of the area to the east of Chesham Moor – footpaths from Bois Hill down to bottom of Holloway Lane and parts of Latimer Road incl. entrances to footpaths off Latimer Road, round the quarry and we did a tour of the moor again. Not many people around sadly given the weather and all I’ve got is a soggy dog to show for it all.

Fantastic to see all the great work being done by everyone and I’m sure it’s got to start to pay off. Mark and Jen, so sorry you had no luck last night but you’re doing all the right things and I’m praying Tripp finds his way to you soon. x

Remember if doing smelly whiffy things to stay in the area long enough for Tripp to make his way to them. If you can't stay in the area, then leave some food as a reward for him getting there. That way hopefully he'd return to same spot. I would say that he is more likely to be out & about in the early hours & at dusk but not if it's raining, although this isn't guaranteed but this is what we find with dogs that have been missing for some time.

Mark & Jen: Everywhere you go will be leaving a new scent for Tripp to follow. Good luck with your search & bbq! If Tripp's in the area I'm sure he will make his way to you. I expect when he sees you he will come sraight to you but in case not, I've emailed you the Doglost advice again. Everything crossed as usual that today's the day!

I've just had a call about a possible sighting, I'm doubtful that its tripp because this dog was wearing a leather harness. It was described as an elderly black staffie with a white chest and face that's going grey. He was seen in old Amersham neer the hospital at approx 11am. The gentleman that called said he was going to an auction neer the hospital. He said if you go out fo Gilbert Scott Court there are some bus stops and a footpath going through the bushes. The dog was seen going into the bushes up this footpath and no owner in sight. If anyone is in the area keep an eye out, but tripp wasn't wearing a harness when he went missing so it's a slim chance that this is him.

Spoke to a couple of police in Amersham about RTAs involving a b&w dog - none! So that's good news. Just got to outwit this little dog now! I told them that if they saw people around burning horse hoof trimmings, we weren't dangerous! Thanks for the advice JB - are you ever off-duty? You and Tiga are absolute stars - without you we wouldn't know where to concentrate the search.
PS I told a woman yesterday that we were out and about burning horse hooves - she said 'don't the horses mind?'. I must remember to add the word 'trimmings'.

There are two parallel river valleys, the River Chess and the River Misbourne. Amersham Old Town, one point, is on the River Misbourne on low ground. The second point in Little Chalfont is on the high ground between the two rivers, the trail then going down into the Chess Valley. The third point, Chesham Moor, is along the valley, still on low ground in the Chess Valley. Amersham on the Hill is in the middle, but it's on high ground.

Great to hear that the smell of hot hooves wafted so far! It would be worth repeating this several times firstly perhaps in the same area because if he smelt it from afar it would take him time to get to the source. Perhaps SamH could then have a go for a few days. Mark don't give up hope a staffie has just been reunited after a year - Tripp will be home much sooner with all this help you have got and determination to find him.
If we now have the triangle and he is within it, I suggest having a hot hoof session near Ammersham because this is in the middle and low down and the smell will waft up and around the area.
Kay it might be worth checking up past the equestrian place again where Tiga was tracking and got caught in the rain.

If Tripp returns there for water, the smell will still be there for him. If he completes the third side of the anti-clockwise triangle, it will be towards Old Amersham, as JB says he bolted from Coleshill, so the triangle will probably start from Old Amersham. Because of the railway line, he needs to go under the bridge and through the wood to Chesham Bois, or along Bois Lane to Chesham Bois Common. He did go into the field alongside Hollow Way Lane but returned to Chesham Moor. If he tried that way again but went under the gate instead of back, he could either go back to SamH, or turn right and get up to Chesham Bois/Amersham around St Leonard's Road. JB says he will probably stick to within the triangle, but if he did go a 'long' way round, he could go towards Chesham along Waterside then through Beechwood and the open fields there that go uphill to Copperkins Lane, then left to Hervines Park and down to the old town that way, or straight on to Hyde Heath (which is outside of the triangle). I've been to Great Bois Wood this morning as I knew Mark and Jen were at Chesham Moor, but I found nothing. There's a track through it with steep sides. Chesham Moor is very overgrown, and with the lakes as well it's a large and difficult place to search. If the wind was blowing in just one direction I suppose it could have missed Tripp.

If anyone has time to search, the woods I've mentioned aren't as overgrown as the Moor, and JB thought if he did leave Chesham Moor it would be back to SamH or on to Amersham Old Town. Anyone have any ideas if places I've mentioned can be ruled in or out? Any more options?

JB - any advice on the places I've mentioned? I think you still have the map of the area and hope you can follow what I was talking about. We did take Tiga to the top end of Great Bois Wood on Thursday, but he didn't pick up a scent then.

Sorry Thomas and Henry looked everywhere but only found two muntjacks. The BBQ smell from Chesham Moor carried downwind a long way and after tracking it back upwind we found Mark & Jen. If Tripp is around he must smell the horses hooves on the BBQ as all my clothes certainly do.

Have leafleted and postered Cresswell Rd (apart from flats which are not accessible), Bois Moor Road (from Cresswell Rd to tennis courts incl. nursery schools), Moor Road (houses and business opposite leisure centre, Leisure centre have put up poster, and I’ve postered as many access ways to the moor as I could manage in the time I had. Would be good to get poster into Pheasant Pub on Waterside which backs onto the stream, if anyone is up that way. Have walked round the moor and lakes twice today and leafleted walkers and fishermen, but nothing to report sadly. Fingers crossed someone will report another sighting soon. x

@Jonathan. Tiga picked up Tripp's scent at the fitness centre. He crossed the road onto Chesham Moor, went along the top edge then into Bois Moor Road and back again. To the end of the Moor and over a stream with wood stepping stones. This had a gentle slope down to the water and is an ideal place for Tripp to drink clean water. There is a path on the other side of the river which goes to two lakes (also goes alongside a garden supplies warehouse, into a field, into another field, down to cottages and back again to the Moor. As it went there and back, you may choose not to try there, unless you feel it could be a regular outing). The trail only skirted one of the lakes, so I suggest the best place to start would be the stepping stones, then take the dogs around the edge of the Moor where there's loads of nettles and shrubs etc. Very deep, so if will be difficult to search - best to lure him out if you can with sausages or something else smelly. If you don't have any joy, suggest you get to the other side of the stream (there is an alternative to the stepping stones in the middle of the moor, you'll see it) and follow that as there are plenty of hiding places along that path as well. I'll try to get down to the stepping stones early tomorrow morning with my little blowtorch and horses hooves! Hill Farm Road is on the opposite side of Waterside - Tripp had been up there. We didn't get as far up as the metal gates into the farm, but the trail did go up the track then right into a field with a little track along the top edge of it. JB thinks it possible that Tripp is crossing the road at night to curl up in a barn somewhere, but the farmer will be checking that, and you won't be able to access the barn as it's private property and there's a chained gate at the entrance. It is at the top of a steep hill though, which is probably why Tripp turned right into a field before making it as far as the farm - at least on the scent trail that Tiga picked up on. Good Luck

Ok thanks Kay - I thought it was that one but wasn't sure. I think then that as well as postering it might be worth someone actually speaking to the owners and just ask if there is anywhere Tripp could be sheltering ie any hay or straw barns etc. Perhaps they could also just check any outbuildings last thing at night. I know we didn't get that far as we were distracted by other dogs and walkers.

JB: Yes, we went up the road into the field that someone had dumped a load of rubbish in. We went left along the edge of a field and met the lady with 2 King Charles, and a larger dog following. We went back to the path and Tiga found a scent that led to that house with the Alsatian 'Dog Loose' - through the path to the car dealership. Hill Farm Road is one of the roads I've recommended leafleting in my post of 14.27 yesterday. Tripp had been up there, but then back to Chesham Moor.

Ozzy: Wow, the stables and field at the end of Runrig Hill - that's great! Tripp went across the stepping stones on Chesham Moor, along a footpath past a garden supplies warehouse, following it along to a field downhill of the railway line. He went to the top of that, left along the line of the railway (well fenced in), down to the cottages by the stream, left and back to the footpath and Chesham Moor. That is close to the stables and field. JB said that small dogs do little circuits within the triangle, so if Trip can get to that field that sounds so promising. If I can do anything to help, please ask.

That's great Sam. The scent was strong on Chesham Moor, so he could still be there, he could move back to your place, or he could move forward back towards Coleshill through Chesham Bois. He did a little exploratory trip around the field to the south of Runrig Hill, but the railway formed a boundary to the north and he went back to the Moor. There is a route under the railway through woods to Chesham Bois. He did go along Bois Moor Road, but didn't turn right at the end to go under that bridge. He may find that route at sometime, or he may stay confined to the Moor and your area in the valley. If you can keep up with the food at your place, that should keep him from moving any further along in that direction. On the moor he has water and probably food. so with luck he will only be moving between you and the moor. In case he does find the route through the woods to Chesham Bois or along the road to Chesham Bois Common, that could be an area for posters and leaflets. If anyone else has other ideas though please post - these are only my thoughts, no guarantees given!

Mark and Jen: Yes, we are getting closer. I really think a few late evening stints by Mark by the stepping stones across the river with a primus stove and horses hooves may lure Tripp out. Sam's house is further along the valley, so with a lure at either end I think Tripp will be tempted. Mark, if you don't know where the stream/stepping stones are, I'll happily meet you down there anytime to show you the path Tripp has taken.

Jen: If I leave the posters and flyers in my front porch, would you be able to collect? Otherwise, if you let me know your work address, it's no problem for me to drop them off there. Just let me know.

Back home, gutted that rain stopped play. It is not possible to track in the rain, as the rain brings all scents in the air down to ground level and swishes them all up! Tiga knew this and when the heavens opened when on a scent Tiga tucked his tail under and sat down and said who turned that hose on I can't do it in this! Kay was brilliant and we walked a fair way but not as far as some tracks - so way to go Kay! I'll break you in gently! Can't begin to tell you where we have been and I am sure Kay will correct me if I'm wrong but the most important thing is that the strongest scent so far was at Chesham Moor and Tiga found several places and one in particular where Tripp had found water (at last) Clarkey it was lack of water for Tripp we were concerned at not us! Tiga made an amazing crossing of some stepping stones for which I had to follow, it was here that we believe Tripp has been drinking. We were taken for a tour round this area and spoke to lots of dog walkers, we were taken to a warehouse and beyond following a number of footpaths in the woods and fields and then back to the water where Tiga started to negotiate the stepping stones again but then decided half way across that Tripp had not been back this way but carried along the footpath back into the field an easier way. The fitness centre nearby took a poster and they are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and a number of people were 'jogging' around the area. So hopefully with posters soon to go up that important sighting will come in. The scent was perhaps not todays or yesterdays but by far the strongest so far, maybe 3 - 4 days old. We spoke to and gave posters to a fisherman who was going to be 'camping out' fishing from now until Sunday - he was very helpful and would share his dinner if Tripp came near! This was around one of the two lakes of which this one Tiga took us into. There were so many places along this stream/river where Tripp was able to get fresh water that I am sure he will be back. We then drove around checking at random other possible places some of which Tiga clearly said what on earth have you brought me here for and others where there was old scent. Tiga let his hair down at one place where there was no scent but decided he was allowed to chase a monkjack making Kay panic as she thought he was hurt as he 'sung' We spoke at length to a hedge cutter who would look out as he travels the area. We checked the waterhole in the Tesco car park but Tiga said no. Last night we ended up at some fields in Little Chalfont and as we looked across the fields we saw the Water Tower at Coleshill so not far at all. When you think how many days he has been missing even at a mile a day he will be covering some ground but hopefully we have now been given by Tiga a better idea of where Tripp has been mooching around. Come on Tripp go and get some food at the BBQ and let us put this page into the blue. You have so many people willing you home you must have got the message by now - show yourself.

I'm sure Jenny will post details, but she and Tiga are on their way home now. Today Tiga picked up a good scent on Chesham Moor and found a great watering hole. That whole area could do with leafleting and postering as Tripp is probably camped out there or returning there for water. JB and Tiga worked so hard today following Tripp's rambles around the countryside, but I think it's given us a good lead. If you would like to leaflet in the area, would you post the road names on this site please to avoid duplication. It would be really helpful if people could leaflet Bois Moor Road, Cresswell Road, Waterside and Hill Farm Road.

I am very definitely NOT as fit as JB! After 3 days of hill walking I'm putting my feet up! Thanks everyone.

SamH: Thanks for the offer. We aren't sure if Tripp is leaving Chesham Moor and returning - he did do one little circuit over to the fields below Runrig Hill and back at some point. If he does leave the area it could well be in your direction, so I think it might be helpful if you put water out, maybe fried a sausage or two outside on 3 or 4 consecutive nights, so if he is moving along the valley floor the smell will attract him to your place. Hope he stays off that road though! Thanks for what you're doing.

Jenny and Tiga are having an early night ready for a 6am start tomorrow. We're going to be driving around the areas that Tripp may have gone to trying to pick up a more recent scent for Tiga to follow. We're aiming to take in Amersham, Coleshill, Shardeloes, Little Chalfont, Chenies, Chorleywood and anywhere else I can think of. In the meantime, posters are being delivered tomorrow, so email me with an address where you want them delivered later in the day. I have requests from Sam99, Ozzy, LaLa and SamH. Loads of people have seen the flyers and posters around and about - Tripp is famous, so just keep spreading the word, carry on doing what you've all been doing up to now. This little dog won't be outwitting us for much longer.

Donna took over from me at 5 o'clock for a couple of hours. Jenny will post details, but the LC sighting was definitely Tripp, as Tiga got the scent straight away. Jenny is staying up here overnight and is planning an early start tomorrow. Hope it won't be so hot for Tiga, he is such a little poppet.

Hi, Jen here. Mark just called and filled me in on JB and Tiga's progress today. I'm delighted that Tiga found Tripp's scent so quickly and am holding out hope that we will at least know which way he's going. Mark said Tiga is heading out towards Chorleywood and is wondering if it's worth concentrating our postering and flyer drops in the Chorleywood, Latimer and Flaunden areas.
It is really hot today and I'm sure both JB and Tiga are having a tough time in the heat. I hope they are both ok, and fingers crossed Tripp's scent stays strong. Such an emotional roller coaster. Thank you everyone for everything xxxx

Ok just about to leave Kent now, I have a new phone and haven't got it completely sorted yet so I cannot update this page from it but I will keep Mark posted and perhaps Kay so any news can be posted by them. I do hope this latest possible sighting is Tripp and Tiga can pick up on it. You have to remember that this is also nearly a week old now so we will still be so far behind Tripp but if this was Tripp at least we can determine which way he has gone. SamH: Thanks for the suggestions, and for all the leafleting. JB and Tiga are coming up today and I'll be meeting up with them, so won't have the energy or time to do more, but if Tiga can pick up Tripp's scent at the Little Chalfont sighting that will give us clues. I'm sure Jenny will post with details later. If we can just find if he has been in the valley or is sticking to the higher ground that will help. Wish them all the luck in the world.

Kay I have leafleted Latimer, spoke to a few people but no joy. I also Leafleted the few cottages at the bottom of Chenies Hill whilst I went to do my horses Sorry didn't get a chance to do Flaunden. If the train of thought is he is heading down the valley in effect following the river then might be worth walking the footpath that goes from the Bottom of Chenies Hill which you can pick up just past Mill Farm and ends up towards Sarratt Bottom. There is a stables just as you come out from the other end of the footpath so could be worth while dropping in to leave them a few flyers. I wont get a chance to walk this footpath till Thurs and generally its very popular with walkers especially at weekends. There is also a yard that backs onto Baldwins wood that may be worth talking to, although I think Baldwins is probably too steep for Trip they hack out through the whole area so may have seen something, Its easier to get to them through the woods so was going to ride up and talk to them tomorrow. Any other thoughts just give me a shout, just wish we had another sighting so we could home in on him a bit more.

Really sorry, but despite having said earlier that I would be available this evening to meet up if necessary, I'm afraid something work related has just cropped up and I'm now not going to be free this evening to help. I found Flaunden Livery Yard on Facebook (I don't know them personally) and sent them the dog lost link, which they were nice enough to acknowlege and say they'd keep a look out!

Glad to hear about the sighting, certainly within reach of Tripp even if he was moving slowly. Mark, we can't assume that Tripp is heading towards any place he knows. He may well have got disoriented and simply have his mind on food, water, somewhere to sleep.

Have just spoken to the Dog Warden in Camberley about the b&w staffie found. I've told her about Tripp and she'll check on this site as soon as she's back in her office. The dog is microchipped but not registered. I know it's a distance away, but someone could have picked him up and driven home with him. Worth checking anyway.

Team Tripp is doing a great job - everyone's working their own area really hard, this little dog can't outwit us for ever!

SamH : I think Latimer is worth doing as it's in the valley, which might be easier on Tripp's little legs. Also, there's a good view of the fields from there. I left a leaflet at the farm further along the road from you and tried to walk the footpath alongside, but came to a padlocked stile and couldn't get any further. If you can suggest any areas along the valley that might be worth searching and are accessible, just post and I'll do that tomorrow.

i have only just got back from delivering/handing leaflets out i have done all the houses on upland avenue and windsor road that have dogs, my friend is doing mount nugent as she knows which houses have dogs, i have done captains close which leads to park and captains wood, was a bit disappointed to only come across 3 dog walkers in captains woods, one of the dog walkers said she has seen posters and flyers etc around so its good to see the word is spreading, also went to mount nugent farm and spoke to the owner as she keeps horses on her land and she took a few leaflets to pass around, also gave a few to my childrens school to give to memebers of staff that live around the areas and have dogs or that have houses that are near woodlands, still have quite a few left so will continue to work my round great hivings, greenway, and some of pond park also asked the local shops if they would display posters and they said they would so when they arrive i will put them up, really hope he is home soon.

If this sighting was Tripp and he was heading towards Little Chelfont Mark - remember the anticlockwise triangle! Happy to come up tomorrow, if the sighting was last Wednesday or Friday this would still be good for Tiga. I suggest as well as postering this area, also poster ahead so that he is known about before he arrives! This way you should get a call while he is in the area and not days after.

I agree. As JB has kindly offered to come up again, and we have a pretty precise location for the latest sighting, it really would be a good idea to get Tiga down to find Tripp or point us in the right direction.

Re Printing: I'm paying £87 for 2500 A4 posters to be printed, I don't think you could print that many on a home printer for that cost, particularly with a brightly coloured background, and of course the more you order, the cheaper the unit price - and with printed copies the ink doesn't run, so no need to laminate, which in itself, is expensive.

Kay/ozzy + buster/Sam99 Oooh dear, smell of sardines in car! I take those airtight containers to put can in when open, usually works. Hope the sighting is Tripp.

Just a thought.. please consider that someone may have taken Tripp in. Often if folk find an older dog, they think they've bn abandned 'cos of their age/condition. They never tell anyone, are scared of RSPCA/Dog wardens thinking the dog will be put to sleep. So they keep them never thinking they have an owner searching desparately for them. Poster in pet shops, butchers & supermarkets with pet dept etc. Ask these places if anyone has mentioned having a new staffy. So if posters are taken down in a particular area it's quite likely that's the area to concentrate posters in. If an older person has Tripp they may not go out & wld hv someone who gets their pension/food for them. So please don't discount this possibility!
What we need is a positive sighting so JB can follow it. Fingers crossed today is the day.

Thinking tomorrow morning will take sausages, frying pan and plate warmer to the end of Raans Road/top of Lane Wood. Depending on the wind, the smell should carry quite nicely across the fields and woods.

Mark : When you collect the flyers, would you leave hoof trimmings if you have some please.

hi all ive left a flyer in the shop in elizabeth ave and the one stop shop on white lion road and also put up one in the fish and chip in top amersham near laura ashley, me and sam walked all of the woods at westwood park and have handed out flyers to people and also put aload up, i also went round kiln ave and sandycroft road and asked locals if they had seen him but no sightings they will keep look out as 2 people i spoke to walk there dogs at 9pm round the back of the houses.

Walked through Westwood Park and across the fields to Stony Lane, then back through the woods (split into 3 groups) to Bell Lane and down Beechwood Avenue back to Westwood. Put the few posters we had (entrances and Pavillion) and stuck up loads of leaflets as well as catching all the dog walkers and joggers. Sadly no sign but word is out.

@Mark: I know, these printer cartridges work out expensive. Having flyers and posters professionally done is actually working out cheaper! I've used cheapestprintonline.co.uk which is proving to be reliable and if you go for 24 hours service is not expensive. I've got 5,000 A6 flyers (some given to Ozzy and Sam99) so there should be enough for everyone. Ordered 2500 posters so there are enough for 25 people to each put out 100 posters - so if we're now focussed on Amersham/Little Chalfont/Chenies/Latimer/Chorleywood we should be able to flood the area with posters.

There is quite a bit of woodland that runs from Little Chalfont to Chenies, would be worth looking. Its right on my doorstep so can go out first thing. I dont have acess to a printer but if anyone could send me some would be worth putting more up along the chess valley footpaths if ita looking like may be on the area still.

Silver: If it's on a telegraph pole by a bridge, it's one of mine. If your message doesn't get through on Facebook, Pauline's hasn't, try texting on 07831 302988. There's no signal when I'm at home, but can pick up messages when I'm away from home, so I won't pick it up immediately, but eventually!

If the Little Chalfont sighting is Tripp, that's really quite good news, as it means he isn't wandering as far each day as we thought. Coleshill to Little Chalfont in nearly 3 weeks means he isn't making too much progress each day - good news for Team Tripp.

I did meet young lad with staffie cross up Rayners Ave and he told me there is a black staffie in Rayners Close who is often "on the loose" annoying other dogs and sometimes goes onto the golf course. However, this does not mean that sighting was not Tripp so am going to persevere with more leafleting around Robinson Road area (Loudwater) when I get more leaflets. Quite a few people have seen poster in Rayners Ave (thanks to whoever put it up).

Great news to have a possible sighting (even days after the event reports are better than none at all – though frustrating I know Mark). Sorry I have meeting I can’t get out of tonight, but I am also restocked with inks so can go postering / searching again tomorrow. Good luck to those out tonight – might be worth knocking on a few doors with leaflets in the roads close to the sighting just in case someone else has seen something or knows of any staffies in the area which are known to wander. Any updates later with info on areas to concentrate on tomorrow would be great. Fingers crossed for good news. x

Just a thought if it hasn't already been done. As you are now covering Chalfont, Latimer and Amersham, these all have rail stations and it would be good if a poster could be put up for commuters leaving the station to see on their way out as most of them will live in these areas and will then be made aware.

Yes, I know the area. He's not making it easy for us, is he! If he heads downhill, he'll be in the Chesham valley, if you see Latimer Road on the map, that is the base of the valley. If he stays on high ground he could be around Amersham on the Hill where I live!

I have, just had a call about a possible sighting, black staffie 'like' dog, looking lost & frightened, with 1 white front paw, it happened either Wednesday or Friday last week at the junction of Kiln Avenue & Sandycroft Road in Amersham towards Little Chalfont. They said that he disappeared up a footpath off Kiln Avenue, ion the direction of Elizabeth Avenue. Does anyone know the area??

Approx 4 miles by road from Coleshill, again in the wrong direction for heading home. 3 miles by road from Old Amersham.

Pauline: Yes, that would help. There was a possible sighting of Tripp about 9 days ago on Wycombe Heights Golf Course, so Hazlemere is an area that Tripp could have got to. We think he's moving around at dusk/night/dawn. His master, Mark, is a farrier, so he'll be attracted to horsey smells and stables. If we get a sighting, that will be so useful, as a sniffer dog, Tiga, will re-visit to track him, so get all the details you can. A recent suggestion has been to barbecue smelly food somewhere in the open at dawn or dusk to try to attract him. There's an enormous area to cover so your contribution will help. If you would distribute leaflets as well that would be great. If you let me have your address, or somewhere you'd like me to leave leaflets for you, I can let you have printed leaflets, as printing them all off yourself can get expensive. I'm away for a week but when I get back could I arrange to collect some posters? I'm West Wycombe side of town tho I'm happy to help out Loudwater side. I could contact my friend who runs a livery yard near Tesco and they hack round Derehams and I am sure her liveries would be happy to keep an eye out and check the perimeters of their paddocks etc?

Other places I was thinking to poster - St Peters Church in Loudwater, the farm at the top of Derehams (think it was David Taylor's but he has recently passed away I believe), caravan site at Rayners Lane (not a gypsy site) and a totally random one but Wycombe Wanderers/Wycombe Wasps ground in Sands as the footfall there is high and the fans are based all over the county/town. Jolleyes Pet Store up near Sainsburys/Morrisons in HW is another.

Off of WHGC there are a few private properties set behind the wooded bit alongside the Bridleways/canter track. There is a gate two thuds of the way up which leads you to the houses/equestrian properties there. Plus there is Magpie Lodge and another house/bungalow actually within WHGC on private road that runs alongside the road to the gold club. Silver you may already know it? There is also woods next to these two properties. Posters along Rayners Avenue and Robinson Road would be an idea as lots of local dog walkers using those woods. Hope this of use.

Can someone double check 53648 little black and white staff found early hours of this morning? No idea of areas as I live in Edinburgh. Hard to tell from photo as Tripps tummy is covered with his jacket and other photo can only see his chest. Probably not him but worth a check just in case. It also says the found dog is chipped as Byson but chip out of date, not sure if he has always been with Mark- could he have an old chip in him from a previous owner??

Yes I can put poster up at Tesco, Loudwater. I was thining that Wycombe is surrounded by hills everywhere (excepting the Hughenden valley, Wooburn Green valley and exit from Wycombe on Wycombe to Aylesbury Road). Tripp may therefore be "contained" within the Wycombe valley as he is unlikely to attempt all those hills. By the way I am happy to send short resume/photo to Bucks Free Press. Couple of ideas if Tripp has headed to Loudwater, contact Tesco Loudwater to put posters up as that is close to WHGC and posters at Penn Feed (tack/feed shop) in Hammersley Lane which is a mile or so away from WHGC. I'd take posters myself but we don't have a printer at home which is as helpful as a chocolate teapot I know!

Re Tripp's FB Page pls can I suggest you list dates/times for search parties an small snippets of news as most Fb'ers won't go to the page unless something appears as an update on the page as part of their news feed and its the only way to keep it fresh and current on new feeds/people's minds.

I've been quiet for a couple of days, but still keeping my eyes out round Tragoes Wood and the Penn House Estate. No news. Did have a thought - there's group of people who do this thing called Geocaching, where they go round to set co-ordinates looking for hidden objects. Ok, so i have established that a black staffie was handed in to chesham wheelhouse vets but it isnt tripp because it was handed in on the 15 th may. They have their posters and are handing them out and are displyed in their surgery.
All the dog wardens would say was that all dogs found are on the two websites, animalwardens.co.uk where i see tripp is registered, and lostdogsuk.co.uk
The only thing about that is that hey are moved off the websites after 8 days, so if he was handed in brfore that he will now be in a rescue somewhere.
Have asked vicky and lynne at rescue remedies to rack their brains
Vicky is a police officer.
Feel frustrated i cant do more.

I would like to say from my 4 years' experience with my own tracker dog that creaky old dogs usually travel much further than you would imagine. Tripp had a head start on Tiga of 10 days, and even a dog pootling along at snail's pace can cover quite a distance in that time. So please don't think anywhere is too far to look.

Good morning Team Tripp. What a great job you are all doing. It's difficult to know where dogs are taken when handed in to dog wardens sometimes, especially when the area they are missing from is on the borders of several counties. Sometimes if picked up by a memeber of the public, they will travel to their own home and then hand them to a DW there. So perhaps it would be an idea to have just one person who is willing to ring around the different DW's and rescue centres, so that they don't get calls from lots of people. That would also mean you have a full list of the ones that have been contacted. Apart from searches it's wise to continue postering anywhere you have not done so .. extending to areas outside the circle/triangle JB & I mentioned before as people will obviously travel in and out of that area.

However, previously we have found that if the dog missing has been found by a 'well-meaning' person in the area and kept at their home .. it is they that take the posters down, so I wonder if this is what has happened? Barbs: That's annoying isn't it. Still, on the odd occasion I've seen a stray dog, I've either caught it and taken it to a rescue centre or told the police - people can still do that without posters, and hopefully shops and pubs will still have the info inside.
It just takes one person to give us an accurate sighting, whether it comes via a dog warden, a rescue centre or the police, and Tiga can finish the job for us. We can spread the word to farms, stables and homes via leaflets, and talk to every dog-walker we see when we're out looking. We're still going to get Tripp home.

Hi, Jen here. Mark and I have just caught up on all the messages. We both agree that with the hours we work, we'd appreciate everyone following any ideas/leads if they're happy to do so. No permission needed, we are so grateful to you for all your help. We're both happy for any calls to be made or posters going up etc, just post on here the leads followed so we dont duplicate. We hope this will keep the search moving and prevent it getting held up due to fear of stepping on toes etc.

Mark hasn't made a final decision on the bbq as we're unsure where would be best to do this. He is intending to camp out near the farm on his own on Sat night after putting his daughter to bed and is going to cook lots of smelly food while he's there.

It's nice to see our hard work is paying off as sightings are starting to come in. Fingers crossed we find him soon. thanks again everyone x

Silver, if you could take charge of leafleting around the golf club that would be great. We're getting some A6 leaflets printed, they'll be available on Monday evening, so just print off as many as you need for the weekend. I think Forty Green, Holtspur, Beaconsfield, Winchmore Hill, Penn all need to be done, so plenty to keep Team Tripp occupied. Hopefully that will lead to sightings being reported. There are a few of us here in Amersham, good to have someone over Wycombe way.
We can't see when an area has been leafleted, so it might be an idea if we all posted on this site roads that we plan to leaflet so we don't duplicate effort and miss other areas.

Just checking in at work. I am happy to take posters to Wycombe Bus Station and drop some leaflets in houses round and about the Wycombe Heights golf club if you like - as I said I live in Loudwater. I also contacted Bucks Free Press but would not do anything with Mark/Jen/Team Tripp/DogLost permission. If someone wants to contact them, you need to e-mail bfpnews@london.newsquest.co.uk - they said they would like photo sent via e-mail and obviously need short article. They did not say they would definitely put anything in, but of course this will be in next week's Star and BFP. Fingers crossed we will find him before the weekend is over and good luck with the "found Staffie Plantation Road" - let's hope it's him.

You could well be right about the golf club Kay. I was just dubious about the distance given that Mark said Tripp would normally be starting to struggle after a 20 minute walk and he's probably going to be pretty uncomfortable now without his meds. But as you say, everything has to be followed up and this is certainly a possible.

I have just rung the Chiltern District Council + Highways Depts. There have been no dogs involved as a RTA that they have picked up. Have also rung The Chiltern Rescue Centre nr Chivery and again no dog matching Tripp's description has been handed in. They do have my details as a Doglost helper and will let me know if any dog is handed into them.

Barbs - good idea about taxi companies, they're out and about at all hours.
I think Tripp could have made it to the golf club. He's well trained and doesn't cross roads, so by walking across country in a pretty straight line he'd have got there. My hope is that the M40 acts as a boundary to one side and housing a boundary to another, so if he's sticking to woods and fields he'll have been around Forty Green, Beaconsfield, Penn, Winchmore Hill and - with luck - back to Coleshill.
I'm wondering if Debbie's info is accurate, but of course, we can't dismiss anything and must follow up every lead. I feel that I don't want to tread on Mark and Jen's toes though, and I think I would wait to be asked before contacting dog wardens etc. Maybe I shouldn't, but I wouldn't like Jen or Mark to be snapped at when they phoned because about 10 other people had already asked. I'm trusting that Jen and Mark are reading all of this and acting on it or asking others to act on it - and as we're all reiterating, we're all here ready to help in any way we can.

Very regular bus services through Amersham - does anyone live / work in High Wycombe who could drop a poster and leaflets into the bus station office to ask drivers to be on the lookout please? If not, I’ll try and get up there at the weekend. Going to drop some leaflets into Amersham taxi companies today unless this has already been done?
Did field walking opposite the hospital and over footbridge up towards farm last night, but nothing. Will do more walking later and happy to help with BBQ or anything else at weekend as needed.

Chesham wheelhouse Vets have poster and leaflets about Tripp (dropped off on Tuesday 11th June ), he is also on their Facebook page and internal network so his details should have gone to all the surgeries. The nurses checked whilst I was there.

Hi all have been down to see debbie and she said she was at wheelhouse vets last week and there was a black staff that had been found in plantation road they had scanned it but wasnt chipped (could mean the chip had moved) they have given the dog to the dog warden she cant remember if it had white on it, worth giving the dog warden a call,

Lots of postings since I went to bed! Anyway, up early again searching Beaconsfield, then on to the Golf Club at Wycombe Heights. Silver, have just read that you're local and dealing - fantastic. I spoke to the chap who was there at 6.30 this morning, who knew nothing about it, but I also left a couple of posters, leaflets and spoke to dog walkers.
Drove back through Holtspur and found Beaconsfield Riding School which seems to have quite a few horses, no 07768 014 288. Might be worth a call.
Sam and Ozzy + Buster - great work, I'm really hoping it's a positive lead. I'm in Chesham Bois so 5 minutes from the old town. If I can do anything to help let me know, but I'm unavailable Friday evening, Sat 9 - 8, and Sunday 9 - 2. Outside of those times I'll be checking and am happy to leave food at locations and keep watch early mornings, just let me know a location.
PS I left tubs of food either side of the 'watering hole' at the stream at the back of the public car park next to Tesco early morning. The next morning the food was untouched. Maybe I'll leave sardines there tonight as it's a safe source of water, and if Tripp can be enticed there it's a public place where he's more likely to be spotted. I haven't had an acknowledgment of the email I sent about the CCTV.

Catching up on all the posts this evening I'm so glad to see that at last it appears that Tripp has been seen. The first most important thing is to check the dog wardens and rescue centres (because of the 7 day rule) Claire, I emailed all the numbers/links for dog wardens for local & surrounding areas when Tripp first went missing..along with the out of hours numbers so hopefully they are all aware. Jen, perhaps you wld confirm this. (I did notice that Tripp was not registered as lost on animalwardens.co.uk so I added him for you) Looking at the number of the m'chip I do not think it is a faulty one,but will check with Jen about this. Sam99/ozzy + buster That sounds like a positive lead to me.. JB and Tiga tracked to the memorial fountain (a bit of a scary moment!)and JB mentioned Tesco too. So hope you are able to find Debbie.. you never know she may even hv Tripp herself. I'm not sure about the Golf Club, altho after so many days Tripp cld be in that area, so it wld be worth postering .. or at least emailing the link and photos to them. It's well outside the area tracked and seems a long way for Tripp to hv gone, but you should not discount any sighting. Kay, you never seem to stop and it's appreciated, but you too shld make sure you get enough rest .. please!! Mark, the BBQ is a good idea & I wld still suggest it shld be at Cherry Tree Farm. If that's not ok with Judith then somewhere nearby. It's also a good way of all of the team collating any reports of sightings/information received and also looking at the email advice I have sent you. I think it's important your helpers know what to do when/if anyone sees Tripp. Ring me when you want to talk about it.

It would be absolutely wonderful if Tripp had been taken in by a Dog Warden but I do find it a bit odd that as Tripp is chipped that nobody has phoned Mark yet! There are sometimes chips that have failed to be detected for a couple of reasons that I am aware of and feel sure that if Tripp was in a rescue centre then he would have been checked for a chip again. However, I am sitting here with everything crossed and holding my breath. Does anybody know if this lady is fully (how shall I say delicately) with it?

Have found out it was Tues or Wed last week. The lad works for the town council and was planting in the gardens. The lady is called Debbie and lives on Washington Row. (Next door to the Jaguar garage on the London Road by Tescos) She is always wandering about and has a scruffy terrier. My friend will go and knock on some doors in the morning to try and find out which house she lives in and get a phone number and more information. Guess that's all we can do for tonight, but hopefully it may give us the lead we have been looking for and ties in with where Tiga tracked him.

Hi, I left work (from Amersham Hospital) and leafleted in Mop End and Woodrow as well as some of the larger hidden gated houses. I also met a man whose JR got lost last year and found him later in Princes Risborough shelter three months later.

Anyway, when I got home I got straight onto the forum and saw the possible sighting in Wycombe Heights Golf Club - just behind me where I live in Whinneys Road and also where I walk my dog both at Derehams Lane Sports club and then onto the golf course. I HAVE DRIVEN UP THERE AND LEFT POSTER AND LEAFLET - the guy at the bar said he will get authorisation from the Secretary to put poster up. I also asked dog walker with white staffie to keep look out - he was going onto the golf course.

This guy at the bar said that the green keepers check the course every day starting at 5.00 a.m. It seems odd if Tripp went from Coleshill to Amersham then turned due South - he could in theory have crossed South Ease towards Penn Woods - if he kept going (which is downhill all the way and feasible) he would end up at the Golf Course. Don't think we should stop looking in the Amersham area though.

A friend has just contacted me to say her son was stopped a few days ago by a woman in the memorial gardens and asked if he knew anyone who had lost a black and white staff. Supposedly she had rung the dog warden who had taken it in. We are trying to get a contact number for the woman as my friend thinks she may know who she is. I know regular contact is kept with the dog wardens so it all seems a bit strange and may be a false alarm. Desperately trying to find out more. Sam

Probably the bar is open but its the Secretary of the Golf Club is the person best to speak to. Mark/Jen you might like to try to call Dog Warden and tell him/her about this possible sighting area. Likewise, you need to speak to Highways Dept to see if anybody has spotted/taken in any dogs as a result of any accident, sorry but it does have to be checked. I suspect this comes under Chiltern Council area. Will catch up tomorrow evening with you if this is OK.

Hi Doglover, Well done. I know those hedges and slopes, it's the same on the hospital side, but they're not always as bad as they look. The ones on the hospital side I've clambered into, and they're not something that Tripp would get stuck in. They taper at the ends so animals can walk along and get out. In other places they just slope down and not up again if that makes sense, so they're not as lethal as they appear. They frightened me when I first saw them, but the ones I've explored have ways out, I'm sure those ones on the left are the same. The undergrowth is very thick though, I know it's a real struggle to see everything, but well worth doing.
By the way, right at the top of the hill by the horses, there's a mud patch. Don't know if it's still there, but beware! I went in up to my knees and thought I would need to be rescued. I held on to a tree branch and got out, but it pulled my boot loose and I had wet and muddy trousers and socks - yuk!

Hey everyone I went on a walk today as suggested, I went all around the fields running alongside Gore Hill on the coleshill side (right if going up the hill) up to the water tower and down around the fields to Old Amersham. No sightings, lots of flattened grass so tried to get in as many bushes as I could otherwise could not hear anything. I was a bit worried that he may have fallen down an embankment as some of the edges are quite steep but did not feel confident enough to walk round the other side by the road without someone else there in case needed help...looked as much as I could though

Remember Tripp is most likely to be around in the early hours and dusk, so prob best to search then.
I suggested BBQ early on, so YES! Use smelly food (garlic sausages, bacon etc) & hoof trimmings if you can!

Hi everyone, this is Jen. I've just spent my lunch break catching up on all the posts. Thanks you all so much for everything. The facebook page is a great idea, I'll see if I can sneak some time this afternoon to set that up. I've tried calling this Mohan guy, but got his answer phone. The BBQ is a great idea, I'll have a chat with Mark about it when I get home tonight.

On another note, Mark isn't doing so well today (I'm sure he wont appreciate me putting this, but I'm worried about him), the stress of this is starting to take it's toll. If everyone could keep their suggestions to this page rather than calling/texting him, it'd be appreciated (of course any news/emergencies should go straight to his phone). The number he has given out is his work mobile and he is struggling to balance work calls with tripp messages. He reads through this page every evening when he gets home and I'm keeping an eye on it from work.

We are both so grateful for all your help and I'm hoping it all pays off soon. We both just want Tripp home and every walk, poster or message is helping bring him back to us.

Kay - the barbecue idea is a MUST! I have been a helper on here for a few years now and know that it has worked many times before. If Tripp does make an appearance make sure you don't make any sudden movements that might scare him off. Humming or softly singing will help to reassure him, also keep as low to the ground as possible and avoid direct eye contact. Having a slip lead handy would also be a good idea x

Hi doglover, may I suggest that walking down the hill from Coleshill down to Old Amersham and perhaps keeping a lookout in the very high hedgerows would be very valuable. You might perhaps see a bit of flattened grassed area where he might just be hiding up. We did have a couple of Springers in the woods the other night but they didn't appear to scent anything. I like the idea of barbecue smells, so I've bought a small barbecue tray and was thinking of going into those fields one evening when it's getting dark and putting some sausages on it just to see if it attracts anything. The advantage of those small trays is they're totally portable, so could be tried in a number of locations. Anyone else think it's worth a go?

If and when I hear back from them I'll post on here. I've asked if they can check through dusk to dawn tapes and have given known details of his route. I do hope they can help. It's always a good idea to have a Facebook page as it often means people will share more. However, if you make one for Tripp, please would you make sure you still post progress/updates on this page as we often find followers post things on the dog's Fbk page & not his Doglost page ..which is very frustrating, especially if sightings are reported/searches arranged & they are not on here for people who do not have Fbk to see! Looks like fair bit of rain on way now, so Tripp won't hv to travel to find water, just food ..may just 'hole up' so buildings/barns/stables & sheltered places (tunnels if any in area) etc.
Kay..yes, small empty stable are worth searching..everywhere is especially quiet hidey hole places he wld not be disturbed. ...and yes, when do you sleep?!
PS Please remember to regularly ring/visit dog warden/vets& particularly rescue centres in case Tripp's bn handed in (there's usually a 7 day holding rule then any dog can be rehomed)

I wouldn't worry about the surgery in Old Amersham (School Lane)as there are lots of posters on lampposts directly outside. Had a good hunt round the fields and woods on School Lane this afternoon, from the school down to the farm and handed out leaflets to anyone I saw. (Quite a lot seeing it was at school pick up time!!). Most people in the Old Town are now aware. Also swapped the poster at Maurice's pet shop for a brighter one, Roger the owner is busy spreading the word and also the SB RSPCA shop. Will get the poster back at the top of the SB RSPCA FB page too. x

I have been in Prestwood this afternoon and although I know Tripp would definitely not have got there, I have asked the shops including estate agents to keep an eye out for him but also to put in their window or tills so that passing customers might have seen/see him. Had a drive around Coleshill, nice to see lots of posters up and dog walkers also keeping an eye out for him. On a lighter note, I wouldn't worry too much about Dr's surgeries - nobody can get appts anyway!

Just had a text from Mark (Tripp's dad) saying that he didn't get any help from the NHS Doctor's surgeries in Old Amersham and Little Chalfont when asking them to put up a little card on their notice boards. Does anyone know anyone that is associated with these establishments that could possibly sneak one onto their noticeboards or put up very close by - perhaps a lamppost outside each one to catch people coming and going?? Mark and Jen. I've just been to Woodrow House. A young lad there had taken a photo of an ad he'd seen in Sainsbury in High Wycombe, offering a 4 year old black staffy free to a good home. You may want to check. The chap's name is Mohan, number 07424 672 942. Also visited the Model Farm and left them a leaflet - the first person I've spoken to who hadn't heard about Tripp. Went to Shardeloes riding stables, they're doing all they can and have emailed everyone they can think of.
Ronniedog - that's great, if we all have a 'specialist' area we'll get him one day. Even if he isn't there tonight, he may be there the next evening, or the next....
I saw Farthings Stables and have looked them up on the web, but the land is for sale, so presumably no horses on the site. However, it's a large area, about 5 acres - but I don't know if Tripp would be at a small empty stables when the very horsey-smelling Shardeloes is only a mile away. Still, it is somewhere different to search - may phone the agents and ask if I can hop over the gate and have a rummage around.

Funny(??) thing is - I haven't been there for the last couple of nights because I've been out exploring "pastures new" looking for Tripp! I've printed out the aerial view of the area from Google and am at a bit of a loss as to where to sit tomorrow morning - Tripp's having a bit of an adventure isn't he. If he's moving around at night I feel I ought to be out to see him - but where? I can't see that anyone's walked Tragoe's Wood yet, or mentioned Woodrow - maybe I'll give Woodrow a go this afternoon. As JB says a BBQ wld be great idea with smelliest food you can think of! If you did that at Cherry Tree Farm & Mark set up as if working, the sounds of shoeing, engine sound & whiffy food may just draw Tripp into the open, although I'm not sure what weather you'll be having! If it's wet, then try searching outbuildings, barns, stables etc as he's bound to try and find somewhere warm and dry. If you cld trace the people who can view the CCTV it wld be interesting to see if Tripp is on it. Oh, and if it's rained, maybe you will spot some footprints! With so many people aware of Tripp now I'm hoping you will get some sightings. If you do, make a mark on map so you can keep a record of where he's going. Great team work, keep at it!

This morning walked from Cricket Club through field below Bellhouse Wood, across A413 and along footpath parallel to High St behind allotments etc. Easy access into huge back gardens along the way and into fields and woods. Went across Cherry Lane and continued along path through to small burial groud by The Platt, then did circuit of fields above hospital across to Cherry Lane and back along footpath. Also checked out path from Cricket Club where South Bucks Way and Misbourne go through underpass under A413. Put some more posters by footpath entrances but nothing useful to report – so sorry. The few people I did meet, already knew about Tripp so you’re doing all the right things Mark & Jen.
I think the St Mary’s Church Fete is this Saturday – might be worth being around to hand out leaflets or seeing if some of the stalls might display a poster for you?
Hoping for some news for you soon. x

Kay that field you speak about joins on to the footpath from Cherry Lane as you say and then at the allotment end is a little gate from that field, it was this gate that Tiga picked up the scent again and then along the fp past the allotment and then left up a track through the woods and along the bypass. I reckon he went through that field from the houses end where we weren't allowed to go and out through this gate!
I will be out of action away working for a few days now but you can contact me by phone - Mark has the number - I could come up next week but hopefully Tripp will be back by then. Why not have a Team Tripp BBQ this w/e and let garlic sausages waft around.

OK, just got back. I think I see the place you mean - an overgrown track leading to a chained gate onto a field. I couldn't get in, but have left food near the gate - the smell may attract Tripp if he gets to it before any cats! I had a walk around and there's a public footpath going from the top of Cherry Lane along the back of that field. Have just seen that the owner wouldn't allow access.
Also walked around the allotments with my food bowl and smelly food, the yellow posters look great by the way. Left a packet of dog food at the start of the allotments. Stopped a dog walker who knew all about Tripp, had friends over last night and said they were all talking about him. I told her he's probably on the prowl at night, and she'll share that info. She lives in one of the terraced cottages just up from Little Shardeloes and opposite the equestrian centre.
I see there's Chess Valley Equine on the map. I'm sure it's been postered/searched, but I'll give that another go this afternoon.

So sorry you guys didn't have any luck last night in finding Tripp. Wouldn't it be a good idea to get JB and Tiga back on the case with another search (sorry JB & Tiga) but you have given everybody so much more hope of finding Tripp and narrowed the search area somewhat so just wondered if it would be probable for you and Tiga to track where you left off or the areas where you have traced Tripp's possible whereabouts to.

@ Clarkey - since Saturday, between my friends, Claire, Kay, Barbs, Sam99, Jen & myself, every house that we know of in Old Amersham has had a leaflet through the door as well as the area being totally postered.
Johnathan (Crowthers), Claire & Denise walked Second Wood, Hundred Acres & Brickwells wood with Thomas & Henry searching for scents.
Sam99 & Barbs went from Amersham cricket ground past Engine house wood & the lake towards Little Missenden.
Jen, Xena, Squiff & I stayed around Old Amersham & went up through Parsonage wood towards Amersham on the hill, again very steep hill.
So no sightings, but a huge thanks to all the volunteers who have been turning out.
@Denise - i know the Bucks Examiner & Bucks Free Press have been contacted, but dont know of any of the other local papers. Also i dont/didnt know that Mix96 could be picked up in Amersham??

I was back out at 3.30 this morning, but unfortunately, the gate to the 'gated field' that JB has recommended, was closed, and at that time of the morning I couldn't work out how to open it without making lots of noise. Put food under gate, but it wasn't taken tonight. Put poster up with hand-written note saying that Tripp had been tracked to there by a sniffer dog, so with luck should motivate people to check that field thoroughly.
Put 2 tubs of food at the equestrian centre again, but that wasn't touched either tonight. No sign of anything at the stream end of the centre described in last night's posting.
At the back of the public carpark (between the church and Tesco) there's a running stream with a very good watering hole with a gentle slope down to the stream which Tripp could manage. I left the pots of food either side of it in the hope that if he's in the area the smell will attract him to that spot. Might be an idea to put food there around midnight, so if Tripp's prowling at night that may draw him (will draw wild animals too, but can't do anything about that).
Has CCTV idea been followed up - that's a really good idea of Crowthers.
I'm on a course next weekend so won't be able to do any 3am shifts, but will go out at around midnight to put food out in various locations and do a drive around. Dawn seems to be around 4.15 at the moment if anyone else wants to try the night/dawn shift.
Tripp was scented to the old town, which is the lowest ground in the area. As he has arthritis and isn't that mobile, it's unlikely that he's made it back up the hill, so it might be an idea to concentrate effort on low ground and gentle slopes?
My computer is failing, I'm getting a new one, so apologies if I 'disappear' for a while - I'll still be on Tripp's case.

Barbs and I (along with Charity and River) walked the footpath from Amersham Cricket Club (postered) along side the Misbourne and the lake, through to Mop End Lane. We then followed the lane right to the top (due to the hedgerows, we would have only seen Tripp if he had been walking down the lane towards us!!)before working our way back down past Little Turkey Wood and Summerville's Wood. Very few places to poster or leaflet, in fact we never met a soul on the lane. Lots of rabbits and sheep (River found some poo to roll in!) but sadly no sign of Tripp.

Hi, 3 of us walked the woods along with Jonathon's 2 Springers tonight. 2 of us went into or at least around barns that appeared to be locked, tents that were in strange places! and even into a site where I'm sure that I, for one, will be on someones CCTV and expect a call from the police at some stage especially as the large gates shut behind me with me on the wrong side and had to climb over!!!! Sadly nothing to report. Buts lots of people aware especially the equine folk who I have given some posters to just in case they saw/see Tripp whilst out with their horses. Waiting for Mark to collect Tripps coat and then discuss where to go tomorrow. Need a sighting please Tripp so we know which way to go! Forgot to add that Mark has said that the farm has been thoroughly checked out likewise the disused swimming pool on it. I'm sure Mark will poster later tonight.

Just spoken to Mark and he explained that the footbridge Tiga took them over is over A413 near Gore Hill roundabout. I'm thinking it's possible people in houses near there may have seen Tripp at some time. Mark said posters up both ends footbridge, so would some of you be able to poster all the houses in area please? That wld be Fieldway, Hillway, Green End Cottages, Piggotts Orchard, Piggotts End and also the houses along top end of Whielden St. (On map it's the block from Saracen Head Inn along to the houses by Alpha Court) Could also extend that to any/all houses in the block between Gore Hill, Broadway & Whielden St. and on Hospital side in Gilbert Scott Court area as Tripp seems to hv been around there too. Of course, you may have got posters up there already, but putting A5 size posters in doors mean people hv them to hand if they see/have seen Tripp fm their windows. Would be so helpful if you could get a sighting even if an old one! Also been thinking Tripp may well be resting up in horse yards/stables/farm buildings during the day as will feel comfortable in those sort of places & know that water & food available, especially in wetter weather, so if visiting any of those sort of places pls ask if you can look in their outbuildings/haybarns/sheds etc. Even if you have looked there before he may have gone back there another day as he'll want to be in a warm, dry place. He will be able to be in small, hidden place so have a good nose! Well done Mark & Jen & everyone who's helping poster & search .. you're all doing a great job! Everything crossed that posters bring in sightings now. Tripp, pleeeease show yourself, Mark needs to know where you are.

Have put posters and leaflets in the Wheelhouse vet in Chesham, Tripp is also on their Facebook page and internal"dogs lost" page, the RSPCA shop in Chesham and the pet shop in Chesham. my friends son is going to put some flyers in top Amersham for us.

All 5 entrances to Barn Meadow done (School Lane and Mill Lane), a few more in Dovecote car park and Tesco's garage (Had already been done but the posters had been put away somewhere safe!!!!!) Mark - if you're going to the old town tonight, it might be worth walking along to the equestrian centre. They'll be closed, but if you walk away from the town along their fence, you'll come to a bridge. Look over that bridge and you'll see the river at the edge of their property. While it was still dark this morning, I shone a torch down there and something bounded away. The action was like a small deer rather than a dog, but it is a good spot - near horses and next to a stream - so perhaps just go there and call for Tripp, just in case. I took a metal dog food bowl with me and was tapping that and calling 'din dins' - did Tripp have his dinner from a metal bowl? I'm planning on an early start again tomorrow - I think I'll do that gated field, and stay to see what eats the food. I'm out for the day now, sorry, but I'll do more leafleting tomorrow afternoon if you post again which roads still need doing.

No news I'm afraid. I got to the old town around 3.30am, spoke to a delivery guy who delivers to the hotel opposite the memorial gardens every night. I gave him a leaflet, and he'll call if he sees Tripp. I put 2 packs of food in the field with the gate and watched for a bit before doing the memorial gardens then driving up to the equestrian place. I put food outside the gates there and had a walk along all the hedgerows, again, watched for a bit. Went to the hospital and did the same. Went back to the first field - one of the containers of food had gone, but there are houses and cats within yards of the food so I'm not getting overly excited, but worth doing another night. Got back to the stables at about 10 past 5 when the gates were open, and the food in the container had been partially eaten. Again, there are farm cats, and I think a dog would have cleaned the container then carried it away as a little treasure. However, there is also a stream on that site, so I think it might be worth you asking the very pleasant owner if you could go on the site and make shoeing-horses noises - maybe even offer to shoe her horses! That's all to report I'm afraid, but a couple of slim chances to follow up on. I think the cctv suggestion is worth following up on as well. Crowther, do you have contacts there?

There is also good CCTV coverage of Old Amersham high St. The pictures are relayed back to the control room run by Wycombe District Council. It might be worth asking them if any of their late evening early morning camera watchers have seen Tripp.

Good Evening. Nice to meet up with you tonight Mark , Jen & dogs. I think between 3 of us tonight we covered quite a distance and of course, postering. I personally have done from No 39 to the garage near Tesco roundabout. We have walked around and around following Tiga's trail again and also have been around the cemetary, allotments and recreation field tonight. Other good places to poster tomorrow as we discussed tonight would be near schools, the Drs surgery, The Chilterns Hospital and the Car Wash, Diner (really thinking of the people who would visit these places) I haven't been into the garage, but I have left a poster in the car park by the ticket machine. A poster at the beginnings of the footpaths as well might be useful. I hope that with all the postering that has been done and this has certainly raised awareness of Tripp that it will bring in some news. I also met the daughter of the Farm Manager who was going to give her dad a poster so he can let his estates staff know. At the other end of a telephon should you need some more help or a sighting. I've just had long chat with JB & now hv good idea of area Tripp has bn in.
The perimeter of the circle/triangle he's doing (it's known for dogs that hv bn out for several days to stick to these) & where she & Mark went is from Cherry Tree Fm past Amersham hospital/Society of Friends Meeting Hse up to Church St, along School Lane by Barn Meadow Rec Grnd, past Amersham Town Footy Club (is it still there or is it equestrian place now?) up to the big roundabout (A413)by Engine Hse Wood/Lower Park where the big lake /Amersham Cricket Grounds & Clubhouse are & Shardeloes East Lodge.
Then across towards A404 but down towards Cherry Lane. Then it's a bit more difficult as tracking time ran out so not sure of perimeter there. Tripp may hv gone through Wheatley Wood & across as far as Woodrow High Hse/Model Farm/Willow Cottage, but looks MORE likely he wld hv gone bk towards Cherry Lane, New Rd & Cherry Tree Fm..that wld be on a line with outskirts of Wheatley & Second Woods & New Lane. That forms a rough circle.

So, it would be good to search the woods (Second Wood is closest to horsey places & where he was lost) & poster all the places mentioned. Please bear in mind I've had to describe it fm google map so may hv missed places not marked which local people wld know of!

Have now printed and given a poster to the Farm Manager at Penn House Estate who will keep a look out and let his farmworkers know.
This evening I had an hour and a half to spare while my ancient (32 yo) horse ate her dinner, so I parked up near Cherry Tree Farm and walked Ronniedog down the hill through the fields to Amersham, across the footbridge, round the field south of the hospital, then round the field just north of the hospital - and back by same route to Coleshill again. No sightings I'm afraid. Spoke to a couple of other dog walkers, one woman had seen the posters and was aware.
Hope there's some good news soon.

Hi all. Sorry I haven't posted on here since 31st May, but I've been on holiday since then. So sorry that Tripp is still missing. Did anyone check with Green Meadows kennels as I suggested? I work at the council offices in Amersham but won't be back at work until Wednesday. I hope Tripp will have been found by then, but if not I'll put some posters up at work and alert as many colleagues as possible. Will also keep my eyes open as I travel between Aylesbury and Amersham.

Well done Kay, that's a great help. Yes, Cacan I was thinking that too! Maybe Mark can save some hoof trimmings to 'cook'! Posters..put them on farm gates & fences (horses fields) if you can't find anyone around to take one. Most people check their horses regularly, often early in morning/late evening. Trying to think of people around early hours & dusk..taxi/bus drivers, pizza/kebab delivery chaps, postman, milkman, school bus drivers. Also when looking keep an eye open for places Tripp may have bn sleeping, will be in sheltered places poss nr water. Perhaps worth checking Platt cememtery as that's quiet too. Let the footy/cricket and golf clubs know as they'll hv players around in evenings & lots of people can be told at once if you post in clubhouses. Posters cn be reduced to A5 size for putting thru people doors. Someone mentioned cameras..Lidl were selling them last week (£70) so you'd hv to ask if in the back as quick turnaround of stock. However, prob not high quality & as no sightings yet not sure wld be too much use. Try to keep track of where you hv postered so you don't double up, but you can never hv too many. Maybe mark on map & get together to see where to do next. You have a fantastic team out there for Tripp so don't get despondent Mark. That's what Doglost is about, volunteers and fellow dog lovers all helping each other out. you can't possibly think of everything yourself especially when you're working. Sooner or later someone will see him and ring in. Good luck to you all..you're all doing a fantastic job.
PS Hahaha! Sorry Jayne, had to laugh! As us horsey people will know, the frog is on the underside of a horse's hoof which farriers trim when shoeing, not the other kind you are thinking of!!

Page 'bumped' re search. Well done to everyone, especially JB and Tiga. Thanks for going up to help. That was one long day for you both and Mark especially in the heat. Was glad to hear that Tripp seems to have left the farm and was not trapped anywhere there. Loads of support for you Mark and don't feel guilty asking people for help .. they would not offer if they didn't want to! Always hard to keep going, but follow JB's advice. Concentrate on areas she suggested. Sardines work well (cheap, easy to carry & very whiffy!) As JB said Tripp will be resting in day other than to get water, so early hours and dusk best times to search. Mark, you must be exhausted .. try to get enough sleep to recharge yr batteries. Wld be worth trying to tel the numbers at that equestrian farm again (where Tiga wanted to go) & see if you cld get permission to search there. Hv you thought of going back to the farm he was lost (or better still somewhere on the lower ground JB mentioned) & 'setting up' in the evening after Tripp wld hv bn resting..banging yr tools as if shoeing etc. If Tripp is in area, he may just come to the sound which wld carry well at dusk..maybe even hv a bbq with all helpers (you can make plans for postering/searching) & then you wld hv lots of eyes to keep a look out. If you do this, stay there long enough to give him a chance to get to you. Lastly, swamp the area JB thinks Tripp may be in with posters. Hopefully you may get a sighting from them. come on Tripp, please show yourself.

JB – I did check out New Road after leaving you yesterday. Walked accessible fields on the left and from main road at bottom back up the lane checking hedges and what I could of fields on the farm side. Sadly, I just don't have Tiga's nose! Also drove that way today en route to Amersham.

This afternoon, postered the length of Whielden St from the hospital into town and the High St from St Mary’s about half up way up before I ran out. Will make up some more posters to take out with me tonight and also do some field walking. So hope you get some news soon Mark – come on Tripp, time to go home lad.

My friend Marion walks her dog around the fields at the back of Tesco's and has spread the word with the dog walkers she has seen today. I will be dropping off some leaflets and posters for her tonight. Her son will take a poster to the vet in top Amersham.

Cancan - dogs become wild animals very quickly when they go missing and yes staffies are very peoply and I am sure if Mark & Tripps paths were to cross he would leap into Marks arms. There have been no sightings so Tripp has not come across any one for him to go to which is why I think he could be mainly wandering the fields and woods and farms. Possibly coming down to Amersham late night or dawn but as the scent was not strong he has not been down for some days. He could have wandered elsewhere and with no posters, no sightings but we have no idea where else he has wandered - if we did we could find him. If Tiga had more time we would have carried on tracking but after 7 hours of tracking in at times very hot conditions he was tired and hungry. If there is a sighting I will return. Remember Tripp is 11 years old and with arthritis so will be sleeping a lot during the day somewhere and that is when people are about. He will wander to find food and water and Mark but he is lost and doesn't seem to have a plan of where he is going!
All we can do at the moment is poster where we know he has been and this might jog peoples memories as we find often happens and also keep looking in all surrounding areas particularly in the loop that Tiga tracked. My suggestion would be to visit all farms and speak to the owners, as those we came across were not lived on despite horses being on site.
Kay those fields above the hospital were fields that we came down from the farm through the gate at the bottom and then left into the town. This route is not that far from the farm and downhill all the way so maybe he finds it too hard to go back up! In terms of where to sit at dawn, maybe sit and have a smelly breakfast in the fields and then wander down into the town taking in the memorial gardens, the stream and the equestrian centre. If you see an early morning street cleaner - have a word. I guess that there is one because everywhere was so clean and tidy and no litter! Call me anytime

Sam 99 - I've leafleted Whielden Street and the far end of the high street, but ran out of leaflets, so the area around St Mary's I haven't done. Great that there seem to be a few people in the area - we'll try not to overlap so we don't waste effort or time.
JB - Did Tiga lead you to the fields at the back of the hospital? They're quite high and Tripp's probably staying on low ground bless him, but there were lots of tracks up there. Popular dog walking area though so shall I ignore that area and concentrate on the field opposite the hospital?

I've just come back from the old town. I visited the equestrian centre and spoke to the owner. She checks the fences every day and will be looking for ragwort today so will have a thorough search fro Tripp. Her sister has a staffy who she loves, so she'll do her best. I've leafleted houses at the equine end of town. Thinking of just sitting in the car tomorrow morning around 4-6 to see if I can spot him moving around. JB - where would be the best place? In the high st where I can see the memorial gardens - near the hospital and fields or by the equestrian centre? I can put food down which I hope would attract him and just keep my eyes open.

Yes a good idea to 'camp out' but at the moment I don't think we really know exactly where Tripp is only where he has been and might return to. Camp outs can be done when we get some sightings in one area, the same applies to the camera idea. Yes focus on Old Amersham but I think he is spending more time in the surrounding fields and farms. If he was in Old Amersham a lot then he would have been seen as I suspect it is a social town with all the pubs and beer gardens. One of the pubs had a BBQ every Saturday 12-4.

Hi Mark… Keeping an eye on your progress & willing for you to find your boy, if JB & Tiga discovered that Tripp’s scent was stronger in a particular location would it be possible to camp out overnight? I can see you have a really strong bond with your boy & just wondered if you’re at the place he could be visiting for food & water & he got your scent, you never know. Please don’t feel guilty it will exhaust you more, many hands make light work & these wonderful dog lost helpers want so much to help & you would do the same thing if someone else was in this situation, you’re doing a fantastic job, stay strong for your boy, it’s impossible to be everywhere at once, stay safe sweet boy Tripp & show yourself we all want you home (wish we lived closer to physically help look)…

Yes I too was too tired last night to post on here - I got home just after midnight and needed food! Tiga started in the farm and wandered round as expected picking up old scent where Tripp had been playing on the day before he went missing. I just had a thought which we did not follow up on and Barbs will know where - Tiga came out of the farm (I can't remember how) but it was under a fence, through a gap or something and then turned right, we then met Barbs who had just seen something that needed checking out so we went and did that. We did not come back to this point to pick up on it and so it would be well worth if someone could continue along this route right past the edge of the farm and on. All equestrian farms in the area need to be postered, contacted etc as Tripp is very used to travelling around these places with Marks line of work and he could well be hanging around these places. We did come acrosos one equestrian farm that Tiga wanted to go through the gate but there was a huge padlock on it and Mark rang both numbers on a sign outside with no answer. This farm was at the far end of Old Amersham before the bypass. Claire could this be the one you were talking about?
The other scents Tiga followed were good but not strong so he has been that way but is not necessarily there now but could come back. Yes the stream in Old Amersham is a good water source and although there are a lot of pubs they were all very clean and there were hardly any scraps in the streets (Tiga can confirm that!) If these were all postered then that would cover a lot of locals who frequent the pubs from all around. There were a lot of large gardens in the area all with open gates so easy for Tripp to sneak in and steal cat food/ bird food etc. My guess is he is using the fields and footpaths to randomly travel perhaps to farms looking for Mark and perhaps getting water from Old Amersham if he has not found it elsewhere.
We did have one scary moment when Tiga took us to an ornamental pond in a garden of remembrance covered with lillies and Tiga circled the water and sat down looking in at the lillies. To rule this out 100% if anyone is nearby when the gardener is around perhaps they could ask if he could just check this water. It could just be that Tripp has drunk the water.

Somebody could ask Admin @ Doglost if they know of anyone who would be willing to loan out their wildlife camera. Also is there a specific location you would be wanting to put this in? Normally they go where there are known fairly frequent sightings and having laid a trap it is used to see what animal is going into the trap. Like your thinking Cancan, but I don't have one. They seem to be around £150, and we would need to have an idea of the right location. There is a camera shop in Chesham, don't know if they stock them. I'm useless with gadgetry, but perhaps Mark could fix it up. Mark, if you think it's worth a try, I'll buy one. I do have a friend who used to be in CID - I've asked if he's got anything we could use. Long shot as he's retired, but worth asking. Someone previously suggested dawn and dusk as best times to search. Unfortunately dawn seems to be pretty early at this time of year, but I will try to be down there by about 4.15 tomorrow morning to see if he's on the move then. Mark, could you give me specific locations that Tiga found please.

Hi Mark, Saw your message at 6 and went straight down to Whieldon Street where the hospital is. I've put a poster up, leafleted every house, searched to the left in those fields behind the farm, on the right between the roads and behind the hospital. Spoke to 2 dog walkers who will keep eyes open. I'll set the alarm for about 4 tomorrow morning and go and search again with my smelly food, towel and water! I'm in Chesham Bois and can be in Whielden Street within about 5 minutes - so if anyone calls and you're a little way away, call me. No mobile signal here, so I'll put my home number on your facebook page. I'm also happy to leave food down there daily if you can be specific about where he's been. Found a track with circular bed close to the hospital so left food there on the offchance today - but we're closing in!!!

Oh Mark, what a long and difficult day but fantastic job by you, JB and Tiga in narrowing down where Tripp headed off to. Was lovely meeting JB and the famous Tiga yesterday – he is a bit special and has obviously done you proud. I’ve still got some small leaflets and will try and get some posters printed and head up into Amersham today. Will also drop some leaflets into mail sorting office for posties to keep an eye out. I’m usually around a fair bit during the day, so if you need anything checking out please just let me know.
You mustn’t feel guilty about asking for help – we all just want to see Tripp home safely asap and are happy to do whatever we can.
It’s so tough on you, but hang on in there and stay strong – willing your boy to be home very soon x

Thank you everyone again for your advice & support, it is truly overwhelming, Im going to be honest, I am so tired, not really sleeping but passing out from exhaustion, it has me so worried that Tripp is gone. All the advice that keeps coming in, I keep kicking myself & saying 'why didn't I think of that??', or 'I should have gone that little further to put that poster there!!' Im not giving up hope, but am stretching myself so thin trying to be everywhere at once & feeling guilty for everything that people are doing for me that I feel I should be doing myself. Thank you everyone, truly I'm overwhelm by your support, I was so tired last night when I got home, but after 7 hours tracking, losing the scent & then tracking again, Tiga got tired & hungry. But unfortunately no sign of the Tripp-meister, though we have a good idea of where he is going for food & water. Tripp has made his way off the farm & down into old Amersham.
So here is another plea going out for any assistance possible, we need some help postering Amersham & leafletting Old Amersham itself (shops & houses & pubs) asap.
@Ronniedog- Did you manage to get a poster to Penn House estate??
@Crowthers- Thank you Johnathan, I will certainly keep your boys in mind if we get any sightings, thank you, then I will have a better idea of where they might be best searching.

I hope we get good news soon. I did ride my horse early this evening around the fields which were formerly horse gallops near where Tripp went missing . No sign of him there. Had some posters with me, but didn't see a single person to give them to. Did put a couple of posters up on footpath gates. (I hope it turns out they aren't needed)

I really should have checked my emails this morning .. got msg from JB (our lovely Doglost tracker) at 6.30am to say she & Tiga the beagle were going to track Tripp today! I have just spoken to Mark & they are on his trail at this very moment. Looks like Tripp made his way off the farm. We will get an update later. Just have to be patient now. Hope Mark can keep up with them both!! Go Tiga! I am really sorry Mark that my two springers, Thomas and Henry couldn't find Tripp yesterday, they looked into every nook and cranny, and a big thanks to Judith for allowing us to search the farm so carefully. I know you said that the swimming pool on the farm and around where Tripp would usually walk had had its cover removed and had been dragged, you will only be fully sure that Tripp didn't accidently fall in if you get it drained. Both my springers stepped on the pool cover thinking it was solid and went in the water and had to be hoisted out by their harnesses. Looking at Google earth there is also another swimming pool on the other side of the footpath. Today I walked the footpath from near the Cricket Club down towards the Harte and Garter but found nothing. If you would like Thomas and Henry to search anywhere else please let me know: Jonathan

Mark, sounds like you had lots of help yesterday & well done getting so many posters out there. Hopefully someone will spot Tripp & tel you. If you get any sightings, make a note of them on a map so you can see where he has been. karen14568 my heart skipped a beat when I saw that 'found' staffy until I realised he had too much white around neck. staffylevi, karen14568 & everyone posting on here..I'm so glad Mark has your support, I wish I was closer to help you all search. Ronniedog..letting Penn House Estate know is really helpful as it's often not possible for searchers to go on private land. Thanks. Looking at the map, have you postered at Coleshill Cricket Club, Amersham Hospital, Society of Friends Meeting House, Milton Chapel, Harewood Downs & Hazlemere Golf clubs? Posters always work well at the beginning of footpaths, car parks at local woods, parks etc..and visit nearby farms to let them know too. Have you had a look around Platt Cemetery? Often lost dogs find somewhere quiet to hide. If anyone is in Princes Risborough/Beaconsfield/High Wycombe/Chesham areas (and all villages in same areas) it would be good to get posters up there too just in case Tripp is trying to make his way home (it's happened before) and if you put posters in towns often people from there go to outlaying areas to walk their dogs & may see Tripp. As Amersham is near to county borders (Herts/Berks/Bucks/Oxfordshire) please make sure you have notified dog wardens/vets/rescue centres in surrounding areas as Tripp may get handed in further afield than you would expect. Ring all these every few days as there is often a 7 day period..after which they are legally allowed to rehome a dog. Most of all, don't despair as dogs can turn up at any time. You have the big advantage that Tripp is microchipped so if he is found that should help get him home to you. If you want any other advice please ring me. I've probably repeated things I've already said to you, but they are important! I've everything crossed that you have some positive news very soon.

Have posted on staffiesrus website and have also seen Tripp on I Love Staffies. I have also emailed the editor at Dogs Today magazine who advertise a lot of rescue dogs for us and other rescues in the hope that they can help!

Is there a search going on this afternoon (Sunday). I have horses nearby in Penn Street and will happily do a ridden search in that area - and/or can walk my own dog round there. Thank you to everybody who made themselves available for the search & leaflet drop, between us we put 570 leaflets out there to keep him at the front of peoples minds & get him found.

Unfortunately he wasn't found & like Karen14568 said there were a lovely pair of Springers brought by their owner Johnathon, who did a thorough search of the yard, but unfortunately nothing was found.

@jobadger & cancan - all areas were search & have been several times with dogs, but there are no haystacks & no slurry tank to search unfortunately. But thank you for your suggestions, we welcome them all, just incase there is something we have not thought of or overlooked.

@clarkey - thank you for your continued support.

@Karen14568 - have contacted about that FB link, but not my little man im afraid

@staffylevi - omg, again thank you for continued help & support, we are lucky to have you as friends, (btw, good luck with China, she's lucky to have you as foster parents)

Am sure that Mark/Jen will update fully, but beautiful Springer Spaniels were used as sniffer dogs around the Farm - whole Farm searched by dogs and humans. Surrounding rural village Postered and Leaflet Dropped. Lots of people turned out to search, but very countrified with lots of ground to cover.

@ Cancan, it was only me, the dogs, the horses & the on site woman, Judith that day. So if he was picked up, it would have been from the roadside if he had made it that far.

Just a thought. Were the builders there at the time? A common thread with a couple of lost dogs is that builders were in the house/ premises. Sure you have thought of it but find out who they are and speak to police if any of them involved in any bad stuff. He cant have vanished into thin air!!

@ Mark and all searchers, please note any sources of clean water e.g. streams, as Tripp is likely to stay reasonably near to drinking water in this weather. Also, just because certain fields have been searched it does not mean you can rule them out. If Tripp is lost and wandering he may go back to them at some point.

Evening all, I've updated and shared on my FB wall and again on HWRC and asked my friend to post on Thames Valley RC page also and asked if members would share and a few already have which is great. Unfortunately I can't join you Saturday but have mentioned the search in my posts. Are there any local dog walkers (by that I mean professional) who cover the area? Might be worth approaching them? Would Tesco Amersham or Fox's put up a lost advert? Thinking of the footfall through those places on the weekend and the amount of folk you'd reach? What about a poster in the window of the Tesco petrol station?

Had a drive round this afternoon then did some field walking around the farm. Met a couple of very helpful local ladies who are keeping an eye out for Tripp. They were concerned that he might have got trapped in the steep sided dell (previously used as a rubbish tip) at the bottom of the horse fields. I’m assuming you’ve already checked this out Mark, but did go and take a look anyway – access quite easy from the field on the far side. There’s all sorts dumped in there and I tried to get to as much of it as possible but some steeper scrambles needed which I didn’t fancy with just my dog for backup. Have you been in there?
Have posted on a couple of Amersham community sites and notified RSPCA HSWK clinic and rehoming in case he gets taken slightly out of area.

I went to the fields in that triangle behind the farm at 10 to 5 this morning with some smelly food and walked up to the horse fields and mud swamp, across and down to the bypass then back to the housing estate. I saw a woman walking 4 greyhounds at about 7 and she said she walks the dogs across those fields every morning and hadn't seen anything, so I think those fields can be ruled out. Is it today (Thursday) that you want to meet up? There is a field behind there with a barred gate which is chained so we can't get in there, but there are hedges around the perimeter which could be worth searching.

Hi & thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone for their support & help. I'm just very tired & stressed. The poster that people have been commenting on was the 1st one we made up & shared around on facebook & posted around Coleshill. I have been around Coleshill & Amersham re-postering the area, as well as some new areas. I have left a dog bed from the house, plus a pillow from my bed wrapped in 2 of my t-shirts (that i wore for 3 days each) & a bowl of cooked liver in a stable at the yard. Petlog know he is gone & have double checked my details on there. I have also postered Holmer Green, Little Missenden, Great Missenden & around Chequers. As well as up Weedon Hill, Fullers Hill & Hyde Heath.
@ Barbs - thanks, there was nobody else there apart from me, Judith, the horses & the dogs on the yard that day.
@ Staffylevi - thank you for everything, you are doing so much for the lil man, I couldn't ask for more.
@ Kay - Thank you for the extra posters & all the walking around the areas so much.
Im trying to walk the area at least once a day to keep mine, Xena's & Squiff's scent is as fresh as possible.
I happened to bump into the owner of the property today & got his permission to keep walking around the farm for the moment, but have been warned by Judith that he is quick to change his mind.
So i was thinking of putting a request for some volunteers to do a leaflet drop & search around the hedgerows etc around the Coleshill area, meeting at the Harte & Magpies on the A355 about 4pm to discuss ideas & directions to go, & how much ground we can cover depending on the numbers we get?? Bring torches to shine into the hedges, to see if we can get some eye shine.

Mark, I'm sorry you have not found Tripp yet, but please do not give up hope. Keep at it and keep postering. It's also very important that you ring the local dog warden, vets and local rescue centres (in surrounding areas as well) regularly as it's possible he has/will be handed in. It's a good idea to vist the vets and centres with a photo and poster so that they know what he looks like. Also make absolutely sure your details are up to date with the microchip co (phone number etc)and that he is registered as lost. Did you leave something of yours where he was last seen .. bedding & smelly food? Often a lost dog will make their way back to the place they went missing. It's likely that Tripp would be around in the early hours and dusk now, so that's the time to search. Also it's possible that Tripp will make his way home to Aylesbury so lots of posters on that route too (Stoke Mandeville?) and check all the vets/centres again. You are doing all the right things and have a lot of support .. poster, poster, poster is the way to go. Thanks to all who are helping, to Judith for allowing people to search (pls speak to her first when you go to Cherry Tree Fm) Everything crossed that Tripp shows himself soon.

Walked as much as I could of the Coleshill/Beaconsfield Rd this morning. Left posters at the pub and the three houses at Quarrenden Farm. Unfortunately no one was there so I couldn't get permission to walk the fields, but did as much as I could from the road. This afternoon I walked one of the fields in the triangle formed by Gore Hill/Whielden/Tower Rd. I didn't do the field with the horses in as I expect you've tried that one. Still a few fields to walk - I'll do what I can tomorrow. Lots of hiding places in those hedgerows, but if he's there we'll flush him out. Also left posters at Amersham Pet Supplies. Great idea Staffylevi about BFP. Could you work your magic with the Examiner too? Good idea about the vans as well Barbs.

I have just contacted the Bucks Free Press and they will try and get Tripp on line as soon as possible and may even run a story. I took your numbers off the poster Mark (and yes, it has the right date on it) and just left lostdogs web and contact details on. Fingers firmly crossed! Also contacted Maurice's Pet Shop Amersham to see if I could email posted but they already have a poster so ask them to check date and they have amended date to 2013.

I really feel for you Mark. I did Hyde Heath yesterday and put up posters. This morning, I think I'll walk along the main road between Coleshill and Beaconsfield in case he headed in that direction. A couple of people have suggested to me that he could have been picked up and taken to someone who wanted a dog, so it's possible he's being looked after. Dreadful thing for someone to do, but if he didn't have a collar they could have thought him a stray. So many people are commenting on the typo in the lost add, that it says 2012, not 2013, I wish I could go back in time to change this, I just hope it hasn't ruined our chances of finding him!!!

Hi to everyone who is helping & thank you to whoever printed off & put up the Doglost posters around Coleshill!! The farm is an old racing stables, so there are no crops. Every evening i have been walking the hedge rows, climbing into as many thickets i can, getting stung & scratched up, but i don't care because i just want to find him. I'm afraid to say im rapidly losing hope!!!! There are tears welling up as i write this post.
Cherry Tree farm is under renovation/development, so there are only a few horses up there & only 1 person who lives on site. I have searched the old swimming pool that is covered & full of water (also searched by Staffylevi too), i have pushed, banged & kicked every door into somewhere. The orchard that has been torn up has been search several times with torches to shine light in every hole. The lady who lives on site is called Judith, & she is not the owner, but she is getting a little funny about people wandering around. So if you go up there it would be wise to speak to her 1st.
@ Kay, Tripp is very friendly & would seek out warmth, comfort & love. As for main roads, he is very road savvy, so i might well cross 1 when its quiet. The only changes to this behaviour would be if he was injured or scared.
I have postered a lot of the footpaths from Aylesbury, through by Chequers, Great Missenden, Little Missenden, Holmer Green, Winchmore hill, etc. Am going to do another run via shardaloes today.
I really dont know what else to say, am stuck for words, ideas, anything.

I walked all the footpaths around Cherry Farm for an hour and a half at lunchtime today with my two springer's but we found nothing except a lot of mud. If your boy doesn't wander off much then he could have fallen into a manhole or other type of pit or be stuck in a muddy patch, and as he wasn't wearing a collar then he is unlikely to be trapped in a fence. Like Kay I wouldn't dream of walking onto the farmers land without permission but her idea for a farm search is worth doing.

Hi Mark, I've posted on High Wycombe Riding Club's FB wall and asked folk to share. One member has walked her dogs there yesterday but nothing. She's going up again tomorrow to look for Tripp. Have you put posters up or contacted Shardaloes? Thinking they have lots of clients and off road hacking and you never know?

Hi Mark, No luck in Penn this morning. If you can get permission, I'd be happy to go around the farm tomorrow afternoon to check Tripp hasn't got stuck in stock fencing, undergrowth or in a hole etc, but it would need the farmer's ok. Let me know if I can do this, as Tripp hasn't been sighted as far as we know, outside of the farm I really think this area needs to be checked thoroughly. I wouldn't go on any crops, just any rough land and hedges - I'm sure the farmer has checked outbuildings. A friend in Hunt's Green near Wendover will check around there.

Hi Mark, Would Tripp avoid a main road? Would he approach another dog or person if he saw them? I'm thinking of trying Penn Wood today as he wouldn't have crossed a main road to get to it. There are woods around Hyde Heath, but would he have crossed the A404 or should I stick to Little Missenden/Gt Missenden direction? Has anyone walked the main road from Coleshill to Beaconsfield? Fingers crossed.

Mark..as you have postered and followed all the advice I sent you in emails, then you are doing everything right. Please remember to check the dog wardens regularly and make sure the microchip company has up to date details. Is there anywhere on the farm that Tripp could hv fallen into or somewhere he cld hv bn shut in? I expect you hv thought of that, but it does happen. Do you have a Fbk page? @ Kay, we live 15.5 miles from where Tripp went missing, Im going to start putting posters up in all the small villages between Coleshill & home.
@ Staffylevi & Clarkey, my client whose horse i was shoeing lives in the village & she has been knocking on doors through the village with her family & talking to everyone in the village to check their gardens etc.

staffylevi..that's a good idea. Hv you done that Mark? Any & all houses/farms in the area & ask if you can hv a look .. remember dogs can hide in the smallest of spaces when they are frightened. Search any derelict outbuildings in the area too. The most important thing is to leave something smelling of you or Tripps bedding/smelly food at the farm where he went missing. Even taking your van there would help as he cld hear the engine & come out if he is scared & hiding. Poster everywhere & anywhere in the area & beyond. Poster power works. It just takes that one person who has seen Tripp to see the poster & ring up. Let's hope the sun brings him out into the open today. Good luck.

I'm sorry Tripp hasn't turned up yet, it's difficult to know where to look. Where do you live Mark, it might be worth searching between Coleshill and your home in case he's sensing the right direction to head in? I'm out to lunch today, but this afternoon I can go out again looking for Tripp.

We have just got back from Cherry Tree Farm and took a drive round the local surroundings a few times but unfortunately no sign of the lovely Tripp. We also rang Green Meadow Kennsl as suggested below - no staffies handed in. We tried Maccabee Kennels, also no sign but said if Tripp is handed in as he's microchipped they would call you immediately. We spoke to a few people near Cherry Tree Farm who have said they will pass the word around. Sorry we couldn't be more help, keep your chin up we're all rooting for Tripp's safe return. Hi Mark, so sorry to hear Tripp is missing. Well out of my area but have looked up tel numbers that you should ring in case Tripp has been handed in. Aylesbury Vale Dist Council 01296 585 605(Manned 24 hours a Day)Wycombe District Council 01494 463 890, South Bucks Dist Council 01895 837 524, Chiltern Dist Council 01494 586 519 the last 3 are luckily all outside Normal Office Hours numbers. Also Berkshire dog warden numbers are listed on http://www.dogwarden.org/4.html Remember if someone picks a dog up, sometimes they will hand them in after going home & into a different area. I work with horses & always look 4wd to our farriers visiting with their dogs. I would also suggest that, as dogs usually go back to the place where they have gone missing, you go back to Cherry Tree Fm and lay some scent there..some of your clothing/his bedding etc. Shereen has sent you advice re this. Also hv a good look around their outbuildings/hay barns etc. It's just possible he has got stuck/shut in somewhere on the farm.. I'm sure they will hv looked but you can never search too much in original place he went missing. I hope you find him very soon. The best of luck in your search.

Check with Green Meadows Kennels in the Chalfonts. If picked up by the Police, that's where they normally take strays. I believe the dog warden for this area is pretty good, so make contact with them too (I don't have name/number though-sorry).
