  • Other Info Collected from a friend in Garras (dogs 3 years old) came home, completely normal dog, then ran into wall after a ball and hurt itself therefore got scared, blamed us for its pain so ran away pretty fast. Ran down cober river valley from trenear (poldark mine), towards coverack bridges and lowertown and helston obviously trying to find previous home in garras. Have looked many of times and asked around but no sightings as of yet. LATEST SIGHTING in woods just past poldark mine by ourselves, but it ran off.

Moved to blue, great news he has been found :)

Good news!!! Marlo is home & safe!! Has been hiding out in neighbouring fields & the posters raised awareness so he has now been caught & returned safely to owners.

Positive news, now all we need is a bit of luck.

Continued sightings for Marlo now, we have been working with a family in Porkellis who wish to remain anonymous but have kindly agreed to keep the trap on their land, as we believe he's sleeping in their outbuildings. They often see him in the mornings watching them, but he won't come too close. They're now leaving food out which he is taking, so we're building up his confidence with them. The trap is also nearby where we believe he is sleeping.

This afternoon (Thurs 13th) major excitement as he reappeared back in the garden of original owners. They are actively searching for him & also thought he had returned in the garden last night. Food left out, again was eaten - plus this morning it was replaced & found empty before they spotted him. However he darted off before we could catch him. All positive news, now its just a case of repeat & wait until hopefully we get him.

Requesting HQ to bump, to encourage other TR13 volunteers to scout area near Poldark Mine to join in search. Its been 11 days now,any extra hands to help with rota would be appreciated. Thank you to Max & Cornwall Coordinator for their efforts this week 'onsite' too.

I was down there this morning from just after 6am until 0945, sadly I did not see him, but saw posters up.
I did get a text from Tiana, who said he was seen this morning, no doubt she will update later.

Sending all the best x

Trap moved since Friday as he moves between two places & as yet hasn't taken bait. Early this morning (Mon 10th June) he was spotted again near trap, so we're semi-confident that its just a matter of time. Last edited: 2013-06-10 16:15:31 by Tiana

Been with owners this afternoon, Marlo was spotted by them at their garden gate this morning (where he originally run away from)but then shot off again towards Porkellis. Its good news he's found his way back, but is still roaming locally (as mentioned before we believe in the moors or woodlands). We now have the dog trap & are setting up, so hope he continues to return so we can catch him.

Is it possible for the previous owner to do some scenting in the area?
DogLostMoogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall
Owner had bbq this evening near woods where he's been sen recently. They spotted Marlo but he ran away. Adviced to get a trap set up in the area.
Tiana
Marlo sighted again last night. Area posted this morning. Any one available with their dogs to walk Porkellis Nature Walk / Moors nearby today? If you go to Poldark Mine drive past & down the country lane, the National Trust Porkellis Moor entrance is further down on the left hand side. Believe Marlo could possibly be hiding in there. Owners out actively looking.

Hope this boy can be caught soon. Sorry not in a position to help in area for a few days, but good luck.
Tiana
Marlo still in vacinity of Poldark Mine & woods nearby. Gets nervous & spooks when people get near. Hoping nearby residents will leave food out so we can get routine established & put out the Trap, so we can bring this boy home. Spotted last night (Tues 4th June) so hoping we'll get more sightings tonight.

2 positive sighting in the PORKELLIS area and POLDARK MINE last night. Just driven around to see if I could see anything of him. Advised owner to flood area if sightings with posters as I only saw one that had been put up previously. Please can someone bump
DogLostMoogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall
Spoken to owner. Advised to contact previous owner who may ant to help, can provide a photo of Marlo and also scent if needed. Owner is postering area. Marlo could be heading back towards owner in Garras. Any local helper available to poster or search would be great. I'm not too far away but am in the middle of moving so unable to at the minute.

Can email alerts go out now please?
Sammie
There are no photos available for this dog as they have only had him a very short time so have sent some "similar" photos for them to choose the one that looks most like him so we can send out some email alerts.
Have emailed the Cornwall Co-ord regarding Marlo
