- Now your bowl is empty
And your feet are cold
And your body cannot stop rocking
I know
It hurts to let go
Since the day we found you
You have been our friend
And your voice still echoes in the hallways of this house
But now
It's the end
We will be with you
When you're leaving
We will be with you
When you go
We will be with you
And hold you till you're quiet
It hurts to let you go
We will be with you
We will be with you
We will be with you
You will stay with us - 2013-06-09 12:52 digbysmum

- I have just got in and seen this tragic news,I'm so gutted for you ..R.I.P Cookie at Rainbow Bridge.im so sorry.Xxx
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Last edited: 2013-06-08 19:14:32 by Shereen - 2013-06-08 17:34 Liz
- I've just come back after a 4 1/2 hour hunt for Cookie to log on and tell you what areas/paths/roads i covered..... :( so so sad, i was so hoping she would stay away from the tracks, but while i was walking i heard so many trains :( I am so sorry Will. Poor little girl. If there is any positivity that can come from this, there are 20+ people that i spoke to today, that now know about doglost and what doglost volunteers do to try and help..because of Cookie they know about this site and if that can help just one more person to find their dog, Cookie has helped do this.

- Thank you Liz. That would be very kind and helpful. She is a lovely dog but does not know the area well. She knows Cow Lane, from where she ran off, also around Middle Barton. She is approachable but can be a bit cautious. She's not keen on big dogs but usually gets on well with others. Will

- Hopefully will have a wander around the area tomorrow afternoon. I see the railway cuts across between heyford and steeple aston. :( Is there any area that Cookie was walked, i.e. particular tracks / woods / canal paths / river? Would she be approachable? Is she OK with other dogs / likely to approach people with dogs? If I can get out there I will speak to as many people as possible, unfortunately no printer :(

- in contact daily with owners... all though no sightings since the Tuesday ,she could be laying low in the area...She is used to London ,so being out on her own in a Rural area,is very strange for her.
