- Thanks everyone for the support. I have been round the landfill a couple of times and not had one sighting. We have also had a couple more calls to say he is still there. I did wonder onto the landfill last Sunday and although it is dangerous the ground was very unsafe for me. I am going to contact RSPCA or warden to ask about a trap.

- Have you tried any local cat rescues if they will loan you a trap. Sometimes there is a charge of £10 and they need to be monitored which I am sure the work men will do if you aren't there. I know you may trap a fox at first but that is to be expected where it is, but really worth doing. Thank you for your update. x

- Hi! Thank you very much for letting us know....we are just so worried about him....I live in Coventry, but if needed I could travel up there, if there is anything I can do...I just want him back home safe, bless him! Xx

- Thanks for the update. Really shocked no one seems to be keen to help you to catch him from the council,RSPCA, dog warden etc. Glad to hear youre leaving him food though. Good luck and really hope to see some good news soon. xLast edited: 2013-08-24 21:27:39 by Clare

- Really sorry, couldn't sign up was having lots of problems! its me who is looking for Freddie while Jason & family are away. He is STILL missing. The work men are unable to get a picture of him as, as soon as he hears the trucks hes running off. Wen last out i spoke to some fisher men who seen him a few weeks back, at the back of the landfill but they couldn't get to him. I've been leaving food at the front and the back of the landfill every night and its gone each time but i don't know wether its little Freddie or foxes eating it. He had another siting at the front of the landfill by the time i got there due to living half hour away there were no sign of him :(
I've also asked around asking for traps but really struggling to get out as there is 'too much wildlife out there including foxes'
I've looks on the gum tree website that isn't him, i honestly think hes on the landfill. Very worrying as they told me its sinking sand, but ive still been receiving phone calls off the workers that hes being sighted. We're gunna do the bbq trick and see how that goes.
Thankyou x - 2013-08-24 20:59 Rebeccamoseley93

- Its over 2 months since he was run over.He must be suffering. Someone must be able to help him as hes clearly living on this landfill site. Wish i was nearer. I keep checking in for an update ... but nothing.

- honeyharvey a very good DL helper in Preston has offered the use of a trap which has helped so many other dogs. Fingers crossed this sighted Chi is caught soon. Well done to everyone who is helping. Good luck. x
- 2013-08-17 10:04 Owl
- Could I just check that it has been confirmed by owner that the chi on the landfill site is definitely Freddie? The fact that no others have been reported in the area is hopeful but not proof. If one was dumped it would not have been reported. Unless there is a definite confirmation, you need to keep the publicity up around the area. Obviously the little mite needs catching anyway. Do you need a dog trap or will a cat trap be big enough? It's worth trying the cat charities. There are more cat traps around than dog traps. I will post a trap request on the Doglost co-ordinators' site.

- Just want him to stay safe xxx
- 2013-08-17 09:44 honeyharvey
- There is no contact number for the landfill site so I am meeting Becky with some scenting material to try and keep him safe. Have also done loads of posters so the workers are all aware of Freddie being on the site. We are going to leave food and water where he has been sighted and Becky thinks she is one of the few people who he will approach he is nervous of everyone anyway. We need a dog trap for this one I am pretty sure but after asking the council and RSPCA and Animal Wardens no-one will help x Advice would be greatly appreciated as he is in such a bad place xx

Thank you honeyharvey for all that you are doing.
I have a person in mind who might be able to help, I will get back to you if they can - 2013-08-16 20:24 honeyharvey
- Paula Jane Knowles and I are going to try to speak to Richard tomorrow if he is at the tip and find out better the details and see whether there is any way of catching him without spooking him. Maybe start leaving food and a blanket in the cage to keep him close to start with x

- Thank you.
Jason is on my FB page! I have tried the numbers myself but like honeyharvey says you can't get through to owners.
I have left a message on his fb page asking him to contact me asap, also asked him to look on his DL page!! - 2013-08-16 17:01 B30
- honeyharvey, I have alerted the NW team and I hope someone will be in touch with you soon.
- 2013-08-16 16:10 honeyharvey
- I have rung the council, the dog warden, the rspca helpline national, the animal wardens and asked at local RSPCA etc but no-one will help to catch this little chap. There is no listed phone number for the tip at Pilsworth and Greater Manchester Wasye are number not in use. What the hell to do now. A chihuahua is living on a landfill site with wagons rolling in 24/7 dumping stuff, he was hit by a car at the end of June and may be hurt and he has survived until now. pretty sure it is Freddie no others missing in that area. Advice and help needed please urgently !! Beurocracy at its worst !!!
- 2013-08-16 15:18 honeyharvey
- Freddie is living on the landfill site at Pilsworth. Bleakholt received a call off a chap called Richard yesterday asking for help to catch a chihuahua that was on the site. It has been seen several times over the last few days and is using a cage as its home. I dont know what type of cage. I am pretty sure a trap would catch the dog if one was avaiable but I went to local RSPCA and kennels and no-one had one. I phoned both numbers on Freddies doglost poster and one not in use and the top one answer machine. Please could somebody organise a search for him asap as it is really dangerous for a tiny dog where wagons are dumping rubbish. Cheers. Can you bump his page please thanks x

- In contact with owner.
They have contacted the Dog Warden, vets, knocked on neighbours doors, put some posters up. Haven't contacted Chip company yet due to not knowing the contact number which I have given them, advised to contact the ASAP to let them know he is missing and to make sure chip details are upto date! they are going to do that tomorrow.
They had a response from the poster, someone said that they saw him yesterday (sunday 9/6/13) running scared of the cars on Manchester Road, Castleton, Rochdale at around 4pm.
I will send further advise and suggestions - 2013-06-10 18:24 Claire Gresty - Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - North West
