Yes I feel strangely calm now I know she's looking after herself OK... I had scented all around Aldershot after that initial sighting, and Ash vale is about 2 miles from there - further away from home unfortunately. I really don't think she'll still be around there, she seems to be on the move! Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

how far away is that flynn's owner? are you able to get out and scent anywhere close to the sighting? Don't panic he's obviously a streetwise dog, and looking after himself quite well!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I really hope someone gives you a lead a lot sooner so you can follow it up immediately. Let's hope you catch her in this area. Dolly 6.2.05Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had a call that someone sighted her in South road Ash Vale on Sunday afternoon without her coat on sniffing round some bushes... She's crossed the A331!!!! I'll make sure all the vets in the area are aware, but that was quite a while ago now. ARGH!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

You must be exhausted, both physically and mentally, but Flynn has only been gone a relatively short while when you look at some of the stories . . . . and she is chipped! Keep postering and phoning vets/rescue centres/dog wardens/pubs/all other places suggested. Make sure they have her photo. Sorry I am too far away to help, but I am thinking of you, as I am sure are many others.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It is really helpful to know that other people are out there too. I do think that the reunited stories are really encouraging, but living like this is so draining. I don't think that physically looking for her will actually do any good now as I haven't a clue where she is - it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.. I have spoken with the dog wardens at Hart and Rushmoor, should contact Waverley - definitely will do that tomorrow. Thanks for your support.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Poor you - this is small consolation, but we are thinking about you, and trying to find Flynn. You are not alone, I have been out every day with my own dogs, and hope that I might get a glimpse of her. No luck yet though. If you read other stories on this website, you will find that dogs that have been missing for a lot longer than Flynn have turned up safe and well, so you mustn't give up. I assume you are still in touch with the Local Authorities (bearing in mind that she may have moved on from Hart to Rushmoor - possibly even Waverley by now), and all the rescue centres? If you need more help than I am curremtly doing on my own, you just need to contact me.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone. Have not had any progress with all our searching. I'm exhausted and obviously heart broken. How long should I carry on looking for? What do I do with all her stuff? I've packed it away so I don't have to look at it, but when do you reach a point that you decide you now no longer own a dog??? One of my biggest worries is weird but it's the fact that she has her coat on and it's probably really uncomfortable now (or possibly wet and nasty) Everytime I go to sleep I just keep having horrible images of her cold and frightened... As you can see I've just about reached rock bottom. Any advice would be much appreciated!!! TessLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We've been out and 'scented' the area around where she was seen, and then sat in the car staking out the site, but still no luck. FYI on the poster here it says she isn't tagged, but she is wearing a collar with a silver disc tag on it, and we are actually GU51, not GU52.... Cheers TessaLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

So... This morning 6 of us have been all round Aldershot. Put up 15 posters including Tescos and Bus Depot. I've changed the poster to include the fact that she's been seen near pizza Hut yesterday, and that we're now offering a reward. To our suprise we saw a bigger version of Flynn wearing a red jacket off the lead, but when we spoke to the owner he said he wasn't out near where she was spotted yesterday, but it would be easy to confuse the two from a distance.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Flynn's owner do you have a direct contact number for the posters? Please pm me and we can call with advice on laying a scent trail in the area.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

We had a call today to say that someone spotted FLynn outside Pizza Hut in Aldershot this morning. (She saw our poster later in the day so a number of hours had passed by the time we heard). She has her jacket on, and the desciption sounds right but it sounds like she won't be caught, as she was running away from people. We've been out and had a good look round this evening but no luck. We called into the police station to tell them, and called the out of hours dog warden so they're aware. Tomorrow morning we're going back to put up more posters actually around Aldershot. Can't believe that she may actually be alive.... It's more than I dared hope. Any more thoughts about where she might be spending her time or where we should focus our efforts would be really helpful. Cheers, Tess and Andy.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sorry - answers to other questions.... Yes the dog warden (and cleansing dept of the council) have been informed, as well as the MOD warden. She's frightened of other dogs, but I honestly don't know if she'd approach strangers or be caught. I'd like to think so (especially if they call her by her name), but who knows what she's been through since going missing???Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi everyone - sorry it's taken me a while to get started on here. We do live in Fleet (Flynn has address on her tag), and we walk on the racecourse a lot. We've lived here for 2 years, and she knows her way around, so I belive she was actually stolen. There's no trace of her and no-one has seen her, which is weird as so many people walk over there. We have looked all over the MOD land with a good army of helpers, we've driven round, posted posters everywhere and notified absolutely everyone who we can think of. I really do appreciate everyone's input on here. If she has been taken by travellers (as she's that type of dog), I think they'll realise pretty soon that she's not up to the job. She's a retired working dog and goes lame if she runs too much. Fingers crossed Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Have just been out for my morning walk, and seen a poster up about Flynn. He was lost on Monday evening at Twesledown racecourse. I have walked in that area today, and do so most days, but this is a huge area of MOD/heathland and he could easily hide out without being seen. Could the owner let us know if they live in Fleet, as I presume it is possible that he will try to make his way home. Also has Lynn Byfield (dog warden for Fleet) been informed? Is he friendly, or will he run away if approached?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi I used to live here so know this area quite well.Probably been done already but here's the following contacts- 'Shelterhelper' on joanneberry@hotmail.co.uk. which is nearby rescue.Binfield Dog Rescue 01344 421490.Diana Brimblecombe A.R Centre in Hurst 0118 9341122.Phone first then arrange to drop off Posters and check out Dogs they have in yourself.Rescue Centres are not always so forthcoming for reasons best known to themselves. It is always best to go there yourself and check once you know their visiting times from your phone call etc. Also maybe worth asking to poster the Security entrances for Military Garrisons such as Aldershot,Minley Cove,Arborfield nearby etc as they do a lot of training in the woods/forests that surround Fleet.Posters in the Forest Car Parks along tweesledown racecourse road where a lot of Dog walkers go too maybe. Also poster the very busy A30 Laybys from Camberley to Hook .Obviously local Police,Vets, Dogwarden, Petshops , Travellers liason Officer too.(There is a settled T.Site on the Minley Road in between Minley and Fleet main road.)Blackbush Sunday Market maybe worth postering too by their turnpikes stands too.Good Luck and come home soon Flynn.
