Linda called me on Wednesday night and she is absolutely distraught! There has been no news of Lucy except for one phone call from Manchester Dogs Home which was a false alarm. One of her son's friends let the dog out and she didn't realise Lucy had gone until about half an hour afterwards - she has postered all around her immediate area and the little angels in her area have been pulling them down after she's putting them up!! Any help in the area would be much appreciated and I'll be up there this weekend! Also any new leads on Lucy could you let me know as Linda's computer wasn't working when I spoke to her the other night!! Thanks very much Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Two heads and four hands are better than half that!! Anyone else that can meet to help?? I know a lot of people mention new age travellers (how very PC of me) but I don't know of any in Manchester at the minute - are there any near you?? Don't forget I'm only in Pilsworth if you need me!Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

The poster has now gone out to 100 Greater Manchester helpers and 50 organisations. At least half of the organisations are vets, so that's good.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I agree with everyone suggesting she may keep walking. I had that with my 16 year old rough collie. Blindness comes into it as well. I'm praying she'll be found safe and well.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

My heart really goes out to Lucy's owners. I agree with the others she maybe a bit senile. My old Bitch wandered and was found 3 miles away trying to break into an old womans house. it turns out she got to her house about 15min after she left us ( rouge firework in oct). Old woman ignored the fact the terified dog was removing the seal on her door all night!!!! About 11am next morning after she had her breakfast she decided to call the police who instanly called me. She was quite surprised that I had not slept all night & had been roaming the street looking for her. The woman said oh I thought she had been dumped. The dog had collar and tag!!! I didn't know if to shout and say why the hell didn't you call or hug her just because I was so pleased to find my dog.I just hope Lucy has been taken in by someone who is keeping her warm & spoiling her but hasn't got the brain to call the police or dog warden but it will dawn on them v soon to call someone. I hope my story will give Lucy's owners some hope. I'm too far away to help but I will be logging on regulary to check on Lucy's adventureLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I agree with Eve, one of ours went senile and wandered off towards the end of her life, we had to be very careful from then on. Come home safe and well soon Lucy. Dolly 6.2.05Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sweet Lucy - you are far too old to be out like this. Come home soon. Does she still have all her marbles? I only ask this because if she has gone a bit senile she may just walk and walk . . . I speak from experience - my old girl went off in a direction she had never been before and I found her on a complete hunch farther away than I'd have dreamed.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Cheers minibully!! The description is quite good but dog owners won't be impressed if I check out every crosses legs for a scar - they'll think I'm a nutter plus there's a mental hospital round the corner so they might think I've escaped and then I could be in BIG trouble ;-) will check again in morning!
