- I couldn't help with search today as I was away visiting a special place to celebrate the solstice where legend has it, if you light a candle & make a wish on Solstice then place the candle in the sacred tree that wish will come true, as I was leaving I received texts from both Gill & Rachel, my wish for Ellie to be found today had come true. A fantastic ending to a perfect day, Didn't get to meet you Ellie, but WELCOME HOME you little minx
Made a few detours on way home & removed posters I had placed along with a few others I came across, just the vet practises in Towcester left, but will cover that on Monday. There is 1 still up in Syresham village shop so anyone in that area could they please pop in & get it removed. IF you happen on a poster that's been missed again please remove it.
Gill & Rachel thank you for your company walking the woods & fields over the last week. - 2013-06-21 20:01 Millypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer

- We have found Ellie!!!!!
Great news, Ellie came up to us after we crossed the cattle bridge on Pattersons Farm at 1645 today, as if she had been gone for 5 minutes, looking no worse for wear, i'd like to add. We are so relieved.
We would like to thank everyone who has taken time out of their lives to look for Ellie and without you we wouldn't have stood a chance.
You are all thoroughly decent people and we thank you very much for all your efforts.
We only became aware of doglost when we lost Ellie but will be getting involved in the future.
A special thank you to Caz, LisaKay and RachelMorris and also to Laura for putting us in touch with Doglost.
Also a big Thank You to all our friends and neighbours who have been out at all hours with us and on their own, looking for Ellie.
Dave and Jackie Buckle

- Jackie has asked me to thank everybody for their help and all the information on sightings of Ellie, it has given them great comfort to know she's still local and OK. Ellie is a very timid dog and based on the last sighting the family are going to look for the her in that specific area and have asked if you are in the area, please don't shout for her as they think it may spook her and send her running again. Thanks again, all of your help is greatly appreciated. And any sitings always most welcome. Regards Lisa

- Gill & myself just left Syresham no sightings to report, We had a lengthy conversation with gentleman who pointed out LACK of posters on the dog walkers routes the suggested prime areas are, Pocket Park, The steps down to the underpass leading to the woods from the village ( informed these are located on R/h side of slip rd from village towards A43), Telegraph pole outside school, The Jubilee tree area, & dog bins up toward Welsh Lane. As there is the annual Scarecrow Festival this weekend locate all stalls for posters. There is also a Car Boot Sale on the Sunday
There was also a Gentleman coming back from nightly walk in woods with his Norfolk Terrier he is in the woods @ 4.00am every morning has never seen any signs of Ellie being around!
Both Gill & myself have other commitments and are not available until Monday to help further, hopefully she will be home by then
PLEASE CAN SOMEBODY POSTER THE SUGGESTED AREAS A.S.A.P. Last edited: 2013-06-20 22:08:55 by Caz - 2013-06-20 20:53 LisaP
- We will print off posters for our stall at Syresham Scarecrow Festival this weekend & some for other stall holders too - hopefully she will be home before then

- I have been walking my Black Lab in the Area of the Monday Morning sighting at about 5.45 this afternoon, as we returned along the woodland road just short of our van parked near the A43 we heard a rustling in the Trees to the right (before the last left turn), we called out "Ellie" and we had a return bark several times, we kept calling and waited about half an hour hoping a Black Lab would pop out but nothing! We never sighted anyone else in the Area at this time. good luck with the search! JuJam.

- Sat by pocket Park for while just hoping! spoke to couple dog walkers & gave leaflets. Seems like most dog walkers in village are aware of Ellie's plight & looking when out & about. There is so much open land & hedgerows. Gill & myself are going back tonight at 7.30 to walk the grass verge's on A43 down from slip road of pocket park.
rachelmorris, you mob no didn't save to my phone last night can you text it across please. - 2013-06-20 12:24 Caz
- Been out this morning around Syresham as it's "bin" day, just looking to see if any bags have been raided overnight! looked on Google maps it appears the stream in the pocket park goes across country towards home,It's a long shot but could Ellie be following the stream. Might be idea to poster villages on this route to get ahead of her just in case this is happening! Will be out again later. I'd like to sa y thank you again to the lovely lady from the village shop in Syresham who kindly gave me a bag of Bakers chewy bacon rashers to tempt Ellie if we came across her while searching last night. Come on Ellie show yourself.

- Jackie - just a quickie which came out of my conversations with the family tonight regarding finding our Amber. Apparently she made several visits to the Green Man at about 7am - 8am as the smell of cooking breakfast appear to attract her - might be worth a punt - there are some very helpful staff who start at that time of the morning in the Premier Inn sited there and it was one of those staff who called us the morning we were able to catch her - might be worth talking to them directly. We talked to 10-15 people tonight and they all knew about Ellie - farm / layby area - so the word is def out. Disappointingly no sightings our end tonight, but hopefully tomorrow xLast edited: 2013-06-19 23:38:56 by rachelmorris

- Hi All, just uploaded a map with sightings so far, not that easy to make out but if you right-click and save image you can zoom in.
Once again thank you for everything - 2013-06-19 14:24 karen

- Jackiebux I've emailed full scenting advice which you and you helpers might find useful.
- 2013-06-19 12:12 rachelmorris
- Jackie - good to speak to you yesterday, hope it was helpful in some way. Our experience was definately that our Amber was taking the same triangle route from green man pub to the farmer at the fields behind pocket park area - this is where we sighted her walking along the stream route in the fields behind the layby. There are also a number of small outbuildings in those fields which could be providing safe havens overnight and during the day - we scented out some of those sheds and left familiar food for her, but your other labs will pick up the scent if she's been there. Farmers were very accomodating in letting us walk wherever we needed to - hope today is fruitful - you got my number if you need it xx

- Good to have a sighting in same area,as more people are becoming aware shows word of mouth & Posters are working, just need a 3rd sighting to work out her route, as I understand a lost dogs route is normally a triangle shape, trying to think of any food sources in the area she keeping to, Pubs in Syresham perhap's?
Has anyone spoken to the Farmer to make him aware of Ellie & possibly get his permission to quietly walk her potential route on his land?? - 2013-06-19 08:28 jackiebux
- Many thanks for all your help so far, just wanted to update you. We had a call yesterday from a lady who saw Ellie at the 40mph sign between the entrance to Syresham and the entrance to the Pocket Park layby at around 1830 on Tuesday Evening. She ran straight across the road away from the A43 and headed down towards the Pocket Park Layby.
This is the second sighting in this area so she is staying local.
We have had friends and family doing shifts in that area since the sighting but no joy. We think she may be using the cattle bridge on Pattersons Farm or the underpass to move between theis area and the wood opposite.
Once again, thank you.

- I'm local - live in Towcester and work in Brackley so travel A43 everyday so will keep my eye out and inform everyone i see when walking my dog etc. Please let me know if you need any help searching and where to go - cant tomorrow but if she's still missing Thursday evening I'm happy to help!
- 2013-06-18 23:00 Gill
- Thanks Caz, know where you mean - I will aim to get there around 5.30ish but will call you before I leave. Lets hope Ellie is found safe and sound well before then!
- 2013-06-18 22:40 Caz
- Gill I know which side of Woods she was last seen, there is very limited parking but would be good place to start. If you keep on the A43 past both the Silverstone slips, you pass a speed camera (not working!!)but keep to inside lane, just after Needles Hall Kennels there is a little turning unmarked directly opposite the Green Man pub & entrance is just there. give me a call to arrange time if you going, I will be free from 5.00pm onwards.
- 2013-06-18 21:38 Gill
- I can help search for Ellie but don't know the area or where best to search - have 2 labs that I can bring with me or not. Feel very concerned that Ellie is so close to such a fast road so hope she is keeping safe. I understand dawn and dusk are best search times but have had a look at google map and the wooded area is massive so where to start? Can join Caz and any others tomorrow evening if Ellie not found before then.

- Just been down Hazelborough Woods Silverstone track entrance)again, met very helpful cyclist who had done 10 miles round the woods up to Stowe & back he is in there most day's but hasn't seen a dog running loose without owner in last few day's but will now keep poster with him just in case!. He reckons there are a so many pathway's going off the main track thru the wood's and would take a lot of people to cover them all (the main track runs all way down to the A43. there is a track that runs behind the Force India Buildings (has anyone got e-mail facilities to fire off a poster to them??) Point of concern is just how close to the A43 the entrance she went missing from just a few yards!!! have Highway's & Police been contacted??. Tied up tommorrow until 5.00ish but if anyone fancies a stroll thru the woods after then leave message on here & i'll keep checking. Keep safe Ellie & well clear of that A43.

- COPIED FROM POST ON LOCAL VETS FB PAGE:_
****LOST DOG****Hazelborough wood /syresham area Northampton
A good friend of mine has lost a 4yr old black labrador. Ellie has been on the run in an area she doesn't know since Saturday morning. She is neutered & chipped. Ellie is wearing a pale collar with an ID disc on it. There have been 2 possible sightings in the area ( but lets face it black labs aren't exactly a strange sight in the country!) Ellie is nervous of new people and ran off again when a couple tried to get hold of her. Being a lab I am sure she can be won over by food being thrown in her direction. Ellie lives with 2 choc labs and 2 young girls who will be wanting her home asap. If you can help look, know this area, OR have seen her please call her owner Jackie on 07702 806916 - 2013-06-18 14:24 CollieTrainer:

- If the entrance to woods last seen is the 1 opposite the race track, this road goes on towards Stowe & Dodford, drove slowly along here last night & this morning, there are a lot of preparations of campsites for the GP going on in most of the fields along here that means a security guard around during the night!!
Just had a call from Gill Greaves (she has forgotten her password to log on to comment. Can a admin help her) however she is available & willing to help with search later on today about 4.00pm if anyone else is available to join. - 2013-06-18 13:36 Caz
- Also put poster in Tesco Towcester. @ Nickhoneys, The place where she went missing from does have a NN13 postcode but borders on NN12Last edited: 2013-06-18 13:38:00 by Caz

- Dont know if it makes a huge difference but postcode should be NN12 not NN13. Walk my dogs in this area and am able to help if a search is arranged.

- I’ve found that it helps to print out an A4 sheet of paper cut into business-card size slips, each with brief details and your phone number on. Give them to all the local dog walkers, postmen etc. you meet. Then if someone has news when they’re out and about they don’t need to find a poster or log on to the site to contact you. Glad she's tagged and microchipped. Hope this pretty girl is home soon.
- 2013-06-18 12:41 Caz
- Have put laminated posters at 2 of the entrance's to woods on Silverstone side & Race track side, am told other entrances have been postered along with Silverstone Golf Course & local shops by others. Both boarding Kennels on A43 now have posters along with vets in Towcester, gave some flyers out to local dog walkers. If a search is going to be organised happy to help,

Thanks for explaining Laura, I thought that might be the case. I think we should go with the this page that the owner has registered as then she can update herself so I have copied posts from the other page and have bumped so that alerts can go out. Thanks for re-doing the posters Caz.

Took a slow drive around Syresham couldn't see any posters, spoke to couple local dog walkers they were unaware a dog was missing from their village!!! so will get some posters back there in morning, also will take 1 to needles Hall & Brackley Hatch boarding kennels on A43 + both Vets in Towcester. Stay safe Ellie Could do with clearer photo on posters!
