Great reunited photos. After all the horrendous trauma you both endured, these photos are priceless. Keep on being an amazing dog, Duke, and here's to Lisa and family for never giving up on him. Let us know how Duke gets on when he goes back to the vets. Thanks.

Thanks for the update on here re. Duke. I often wish people would keep us informed on how things turn out, but sometimes you are left wondering!!! Its bad enough being in an RTA with all the paper work etc involved without having the added worry of loosing your beloved pet. I do hope Duke continues to improve and wish the family all the very best.xxx

So happy that Duke is now home and recovering, wishing you all a continuing speedy recovery. What a nightmare situation you have been in. FANTASTIC he was found and is now back HOME on the road to recovery. I've uploaded a couple of REUNITED photo/s grouped together, top one chilling out at home and bottom when at the vets.

Everyone has been great and fantastic Team work by all involved. Sending the gorgeous DUKE a massive big hug and cuddle. :)x

UPDATE posted about an hour ago from his very happy mum :)

about an hour ago
we are seriously happy, just been to pick duke up from the vets. he hasnt had his operation after all. a considerable amount of new bone growth has grown around the fracture the vets felt before taking him down. so hopefully with total rest at home and his painkillers he's gonna be just fine they think. got an appointment in 7 days time to check up. all on the way there, we had our fingers crossed they hadnt chopped it off during the op... will reply to all the messages later on...
just wanna say thankyou to everyone for all your help/support through all this. xx

I cant thank you, your volunteers, and all your fans enough after dukes accident, for all the help and support you gave me. i wish i could in some way show how grateful i am.

if you ever need anything, even volounteers in the manchester area. ill be here. i dont know what else to say, cos im no good with my words.. but your all bloody angels for helping as much as you did.

Just been to see duke. He was happy to see me and give me a big kiss, hes still on fluids, waiting to have xrays on his left back leg cos its possibly fractured. Will know more tomorrow.

Duke is stable and being treated for dehydration , conjuntivitus and is waiting to be xrayed as his back leg/legs ? (not sure yet) is hurt. hes too weak for anasthetic (bad spelling sorry) i will know more in 3 hours so will keep ypu updated.
he was so scared. after being hit in my car by a lorry, he was hit by a car/lorry on the other side of the motorway, he climbed over the barrier 300 metres to end of m60, rolled down the embankment, and has been there ever since. 8 days and 7 hours with no water/food. he was too injured to climb the fencing to get out. my dads dog (dukes little brother) found him at 4.30pm ish. hes a very large dog so we couldnt lift him over so my dad and brother in law james broke down the fencing and carried him all through the woodsland to the car. wish i had took thunder 4 days ago though as i spent half an hour looking in that area and again 2 days ago.. i was shouting his name, but i know now, he was too weak to let me know he was there.

If this dog was hurt he has probably taken to ground .
If he has it will probably be near where he was hit .

Spotted on Dogsy website, lorry hit the car on the motorway and Duke ran off. Owners and coonections obviously distraught, desperate for news of Duke. Duke has been walked near the area of the accident, so looks like made his way to familiar ground?

Thank you Helford, well spotted. I have called owners and drawn attention to this for them to follow up. I looked at the distance between the 2 postcodes and it is only 10 miles by the most direct route so well worth checking out.
