Thanks David/G for your help x
David
It was me G. that phoned and left a message on the answerphone when Ben first lost Pete. It was Monday evening when I came across him in his van , very worried and he had been missing about 3 hours then. I said to put posters up asap. I am part of Many Tears and know Aunt Steph a friend of about 3 years. I only had a few details when I rung. We went back Tuesday am to meet up again as he wasn't local, just working this way for a few days.
We searched as well as putting posters up that he gave us.
He rang me last night and was very glad to have him back and very appreciative of the local help.

yes...im not in the area ,but looking on google maps can see the danger!...so glad Pete is bk and hope the other dog is too
Jen
Sadly this has been the case for many years. Several dogs have been killed on that section of railway. It has been better since the metal fence has been in place especially on the Ickenham side of the track. it used to be just wire and stakes. But yes it is a very dangerous temptation for dogs especially if they like to follow foxy smells.

Hi Shereen - no it wasn't me that left a message. But I was also appalled at the the state of the "fence" between the footpath and the railway embankment on the golf course side. Absolutely nothing to stop a dog getting onto the land and gentle slope up embankment onto tracks. This is part of the Celamdine Route footpath and must be regularly used by dogwalkers - disgraceful! Thanks for checking on the dog - if description matches, I might go and have another look tomorrow.
Jen
We too have just returned froma jaunt round the golf course calling for "Pete". Glad to have come home to this news. Ruby didn't mind having an extended evening walk-Thanks Pete-pleased you are safe!
Shereen
Ah really pleased Pete is reunited..Barbs was it you who left a msg on DL's answer phone about Pete?....Was seriously worried about the train track there!..maybe this dog was who Pete had been seen with at 4pm yesterday?ill txt Pete's owner and see if he knew the description.
Barbs
That's brilliant news - no more wandering for you now please Pete.
Just got back from walking the area round the golf course, down the Celandine route by the river etc and round playing fields. No sign of Pete apart from posters ... for what are now obvious reasons :)... but did come across a loose dog. Anyone know if Pete's companion yesterday was a sandy-ish coloured rough haired terrier cross? No owner anywhere near and he / she skedaddled at speed after giving my dog a quick check, and vanished by the railway underpass at the end of the golf course. Looked in reasonable condition and certainly not been going short of food, so maybe just a roamer. Delighted about Pete anyway.
