Excellent news. Jude at Bernese Welfare UK :-)
If any other dog described as a "Bernese" but of a non-standard colour or markings is reported lost and you don't have a photo then I have a huge collection of photos of Bernese and Bernese x breeds of all shapes and sizes so may be able to provide something similar to a description for initial publicity. Reach me on 01787 371940 or via email bernerinfo@aol.com and my contact details can always be found on the Bernese News website.

Just spoken to Carole and she has confirmed Storm is all black. Carole is going to ask a family member if they can send us a photo of Storm. x

Brilliant to see she has been REUNITED. I've uploaded a similar photo of a Bernese. If the description had not specifically said she was all black I would of used a Bernese similar photo of a Tri coloured. Wanted to get the emailing out a.s.a.p.

Welcome back Storm bet you are gorgeous. Would be nice to have a photo of you. xxx

I've just come home to check if any reply to my emails.. and delighted to say Storm is back safe and sound. Pheeeewww! Carole's message "She has been located thankfully in a garden a couple of doors down!! She was hiding at the end of the garden and they thought it was some strange animal to begin with!! A long night for us! I am not sure if she is a pure Bermese Mountain Dog as we are dogsitting for my brother whilst he is on holiday"

This photo doesn't appear to be of a Bernese Mountain Dog, which is black, tan and white (tricolour), not black. This might be a cross but looks more like a Newfoundland.http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/bernesemountainphotos.htmLast edited: 2013-06-27 10:28:39 by colliebird

I'm walking Jubilee Rd now. Was she missing from top (London Rd) or bottom, near park?

Home now...
I've spent almost two hours walking length of Jubilee Rd, up and down from Milton Rd up to London Rd. Been round Jubilee Park twice and along Milton Rd as far as Sunnymead and back round.
I've spoken to most dog walkers I saw, plus the groundsman in Jubilee Park and also the Council men who were emptying bins, collecting rubbish etc
No sightings though...
I'm available for searching again later and early evening if you need some help.
Please let me know on here :-)Last edited: 2013-06-27 09:23:38 by Ness

Just seen this this morning, I am just along the road from here so will walk along Milton Rd and Jubilee Park this morning.
I have a large flat coat so sometimes mistaken for Bernese which may prompt some people.
I will Facebook, Twitter, email etc everyone I know in area too.
Please keep us up to date on here, there are a few of us close by that will most certainly help.
Fingers crossed for Storm!Last edited: 2013-06-27 07:25:50 by Ness

I agree Jan. I have contacted someone in the BMD group who will help and also sent some email advice to Carole, although not specific to area Storm is in. Expect Sam will send that when she sees this page. Hoping that Storm makes his way back to Carole by the morning.

Carole, you may not have a photo of Storm so I've added a SIMILAR DOG one of an all black Bernese so email alerts can be sent out a.s.a.p. Photo can be replaced if you do have one of Storm. When contacting places ask about Newfoundland's, not everyone will recognise her breed with being all black. Good luck and keeping everything crossed she is back with you soon. x

Oh gosh, this is the second Bernese to go missing this week. I hv posted on the Bernese Mountain Dog Lovers Fbk page. Not my area but happy to share info re the breed with you Sam. The picture is of a Newfoundland not a Bernese .. may be best to check if this is really a Bernese and change if not. Last edited: 2013-06-26 23:46:23 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Hi Carole. You need to poster like mad in the local area.......both sets of shops down Milton Road, Jubilee Park and the woods where you will raise awareness with many dog walkers. Also, drop notes into all the houses down your road incase she has got caught in a neighbours garden shed or something. Also if Storm is not chipped please check with the dog warden for East Meon at Petersfield as well as the dog warden at Havant as if found could go to either one of them. Also, phone local vets, he could be handed in there too. If you get any sightings and need any help with searching, let me know. Fingers crossed somebody has taken him in and looking for you xx
