- Absolutely gutted to get the news about Ozzy today.
losi84 - my heart goes out to you and your family. You have worked so hard and it breaks my heart that this is this outcome. At least now there is an answer - albeit the one none of us wanted.
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

- So so sorry to hear this sad news...we here at doglost will endeavour to keep making contacts with the authorities so people don't have to wait months for news that was lost in the system...2 months is unexceptable...but sadly the norm...we have to reach out to these organisations but not attack...and get a better system of communication going....

- I hope Ozzy's family don't mind but I've been following on Facebook and this message has been posted:
I'm very sorry I have some sad news received a message last night a police officer found a dog resembling ozzy on the dual carriageway near to our home early morning of the 27th June, I have made enquiries this morning and I'm afraid our fears are confirmed, despite me ringing on several occasions they have only now informed me of this, obviously we are devastated but would to thank you all so much for your support though out this difficult time xxxx
Rest in peace Ozzy, your family never gave up on you xx

- Went and searched area, lots of fields and areas a dog could hide. Sadly no sign of him. Will go again, went armed with food and treats and took one of our dogs, lots of cyclists around. Worth putting posters along the river path, church etc? If so can I get copies to take out?
- 2013-08-27 22:18 Rosalie
- Just wondering if anyone had thought of some nice strong smelly pilchards to entice Ozzy if it is him in the area, is it an area where anyone can camp for a couple of days?
Sorry if its been thought of but hope he is home soon. - 2013-08-26 11:04 Carol

- Thankyou everyone unfortunately we have not had any luck yet and had no sightings at all Wednesday it is now Thursday, lots of people helping and can't thank everybody enough and thank you to those updating on here on my behalf as a mother to 4 children I am finding it difficult to keep all areas covered, we will keep looking and hoping and praying that the dog hasn't moved on and we will get another sighting, most who have seen this dog are convinced if is ozzy however don't think I will believe it until I see him with my own eyes am hoping next person who sees the dog will get a photo for me although obviously if it is not ozzy the dog still needs to be caught if we get a positive sighting via myself or a photo we will then go down the route of trying to locate a trap if there are any available would be good to know so we are ready.... The last sighting as of yet is of a dog matching ozzy's picture running back and forth along footbridge in rhuddlan going over river just past KFC at 5pm on wed so looks like he wants to be found just by the right people lots have said I see it but only a couple have tried to catch the dog unsuccessfully thanks again for everything you lovely people are doing for us be it searching along the river posting sharing printing and putting up posters or just comforting us with kind messages xx

- Hope nobody minds me updating - just been reading the FB posts and no sightings today but a few people who have seen Ozzys picture say it definetely looks like the dog that's been spotted in the Rhuddlan area. He seems to be mainly around the bridge and river area, although some parts of the riverbank are difficult to access on foot.
If anyone is in the Rhuddlan area, please keep an eye out for him and if you're lucky enough to be able to get a photo of the dog on your phone, that would be a big help too.
He seems to be a bit nervous, so we are urging people if they do see him, to stay calm and not chase him as it might just make him run away to another area. Perhaps if you could try and gently coax him over with food or something, I think we might have to build his trust.

- Glad you checked and that lots of posters going up. Is there any chance he could have got trapped somewhere like a shed, garage or behind somewhere......am sure you've prob thought of that though.
Again something you are prob doing but leaving a blanket or clothing out by your gate/garden in case he finds his way back. Is it possible for him to get back into the garden just incase. Pushing posters/fliers through letter boxes in the neighbourhood would be good too.Fingers crossed he will turn up soon and/or you will get a phone call. You are doing brilliantly.....keep your chin up....wish I lived closer but I will keep sharing his poster and keeping a look out xx - 2013-06-29 19:17 losi84

- Hope Ozzy is found very soon, will share his poster around.
I saw this found Collie on the animal wardens website (where you may have registered Ozzie as lost), its about 20 miles away I think, but he may have been picked up by someone and though it states black and white, thought you might want to check it anyway xx
