- Just want to say once more from the bottom of all of our hearts, thank you so so much for all your help and advice. I honestly think that had we not been so quick to act and worked so tirelessly to ensure as many people as possible knew that our old girl Megan was missing, that she would very possibly not be home safe and well now. She is being spoilt by the way, has a few sore paws and is slightly stiff after he massive adventures this weekend. But she is ok. Is spending the day at the vets with her mum today as thats where her mum works and who can blame Mum for not wanting to let her out of her sight eh?! lol. Thank you all so so much. I am still so touched by the amount of attention and help that Megan received and we are so happy to be able to see her so happy again and where she should be. All of those who ever have the sadness of losing your dog or who have ever been through it, this goes to show exactly how quickly a happy ending can be created. It just takes quick action and contact to the right people in the right places. I was very lucky in the fact that I have a lot of animal loving rescue type friends who ran to our aid and was able to help so much. And TheDogLost team were fab, getting on the phone to me first thing the next morning to check our progress and offer further advice as well as making their amazing volunteers aware of the situation. You are all wonderful people and we will always owe each and every one of you for all that you did to help us get the family back together. Love to you all. Never lose faith. There is always a way as long as there is the will to act. Thanks once more. You have made my year. XxxxxX

- Thank you all so much for your kind words. I am so moved by the response and am truly grateful to all of you for your efforts and aid in finding Megan and making sure she returned home safely. We are all so ecstatic. I am uploading a picture shortly of our little one home relaxing though looking incredibly tired after her ordeal. Will upload more as am waiting on being sent a couple from a superb friend who has been there from the moment she disappeared on us.
You have truly restored my faith in mankind by helping so much and by sending all your wishes to us. You are all incredible people who will always hold a special place in my heart. If anyone ever needs me please just say so and I will always be there in an instant. Thank you so much once more. Love to you all. Photos coming. xxx

Stray animals
The council's Animal Warden Service deals with stray animals.
Any animals straying onto the highway, or injured in an accident, must be reported to the police on 0161 872 5050.
Dogs
A stray dog is as any dog unaccompanied by its owner (or other authorized person) that is in a public place or in a place it is not permitted to be.
If the Council finds a stray dog they will:
Return it to its owner - if its the first time it has been picked up, it has identification (eg microchip), and it is practical to do so
Put the dog in a kennel (Manchester Dogs Home, phone 0844 504 1212)
If your dog is put in a kennel you must claim it within 7 days of being seized and pay kennel costs and a fixed fee of £25.
If your dog is not claimed it will be re-homed. If a dog is seriously ill, injured or is very aggressive, it may be destroyed. No healthy dog is destroyed.
Injured or sick dogs will be taken to a vet. The dog will stay at the vet until it is fit enough to go to a kennel. - 2013-06-30 11:18 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West

- Hi after reading the sighting of Megan this morning at Greenfield station I drove down and asked dog walkers and people I came across. I walked past Tesco and near the train station, no sighting I am afraid. I then drove to Uppermill and back down to Greenfield. Please keep looking if you are in this area, really hope Meg is home soon. Xx
- 2013-06-30 10:26 Claire Gresty - Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - North West
- There is a lady who is going to get some posters out in the area after lunch today, I'll also ask again on my page if anyone is local, would they please possibly help x
- 2013-06-30 09:58 MFHJane
- Thanks, Rachel Bean has put her on Saddleworth News and a few other local pages - apparently the area is so rural it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, and they haven't got anyone local to do any leaflets for them yet, so they can't make local dogwalkers aware. Just hope there's another sighting soon, Jo who knows her is out looking now and can be contacted on 07889 854639 if she's spotted.
- 2013-06-30 09:08 Claire Gresty - Area Co-ordinator & Police Liaison - North West
- Hi MFHJane, I have no idea of the area either, sorry. I'll add her to the DogLost facebook page and ask if anyone on there knows of any other community pages to try x
- 2013-06-30 08:59 MFHJane
- Thanks ClaireBearG - I've added her to I Love Royton, can you think of any other local community pages to try? Not my area at all so no idea!

- Awww poor girl, I woke up thinking of her this morning, really hope she's ok and back home asap, keep checking her page for info. Will share again with the recent sighting. Keeping everything crossed for Megan's fast and safe return xx

- Greenfield Train Station is on Shaw Hall Bank Road, OLDHAM Lancashire OL3 7JZ, please if you're anywhere near there try to help!
- 2013-06-30 08:11 MFHJane
- She has been sighted near Greenfield train station this morning, will post more info as soon as it's received. Meg is apparently now really scared and won't go near anyone, so if you see her please just try to keep her in sight and contact the numbers above urgently rather than risk her running. Thanks to anyone who can help by sharing this page or telling friends if you're local.

- Thank you Jayne for alerting helpers in the area. If we can even get eyes on her to know she is ok that would be at least something. Means so much for all the help we can get. We just have to keep trying hoping and praying now. xxx

- Thank you all so much for your concern and your help on this. Sadly Megan hasn't been seen since around 4pm today and all of these sightings were in the same area. We have had at least 12 people all out looking over the massive area that she could possibly have gotten to without joy. Our only conclusion at the moment is that she has either been picked up by someone who has decided to keep her safe for the evening before returning her home, or that she has got tired out, found somewhere safe and warm to stay for the night and will try to get home tomorrow. If she isn't home by morning we will all be back out looking for her. She is very much loved by so many people and her mum is so devastated. She wasn't even out on a walk with her mum but her nana when this happened and is so out of character for her. thank you all so much. xx
