Thank you so much everyone - the support has been incredible and Doglost is an amazing resource. 6100 views now - wow!!
Poppy appears to have spent two days hiding in the long grass in Stanmer Park. We lost her by the fallen tree but somehow she had crossed over the road and was hiding where the cows are. We had a very helpful sighting from a man called Frank which alerted us to her new location and we were able to flush her out. My husband caught her at lunchtime yesterday.
Poppy is home, bathed and fed. She stank of fox poo! She has spent a lot of time sleeping and is feeling very sorry for herself.
Many thanks to you all - glad this was a happy ending xxx

Thank you for contacting Allsorts, great idea!
Lots of people are mentioning the travellers but I didn't dare speak to them on my own. I'm sending my husband up there tomorrow to have a word. We asked the police to check but they haven't done so...
Please keep posting on Facebook and Twitter as it all helps x
Also I'm not sure why I haven't been getting people's messages on Facebook - I'm not ignoring you I promise x

Hi there, I did try & send a msg via facebook to Sara re: Poppy. I have contacted Allsorts dog rescue as they always have a few people out & about & are always circulating about lost dogs. Had the following responses so far - might be worth someone keeping a watch near the travellers:

1)Sharon Terry: There are travellers up the top of stanmer Park along the Beacon Road in the field on the right. It might pay to go up there with a few others and insist on looking around as she may have wandered up there if she was hungry as quite a few caravans there. Worth a try. XXXX
2)Ashton Geddes: Also my neighbour was up there with her dog and she went missing too, she looked asked the travellers who said they hadn't seen her, but a few mins later a child opened the door of a caravan and her dog came running out!

Fingers crossed you find her x

Hi Sara. Fingers crossed. I have 2 mini dachshunds who both went missing at Stanmer Park on a few occasions fortunately I found them both after a couple of hours. Stay close to where she was last seen - mine were both found near the last sighting although I was searching everywhere. They also tend to go to ground so anywhere that she could hide around Stanmer House and the greenhouses would be worth a look. I will be walking my 2 later and will help look as I know what you are feeling at the moment. Don't depair and set up a tent and camp if you have to. It might be worth staying in one spot near the back of the house and calling. This worked with one of my 2 as if she is frightened she will stay under cover. If you need any advice/help over the phone let me know and I can call your mobile. Helen

Hi I've been in the park from 10am till 1.30pm searching and showing the poster I printed off from here, I let as many dog walks and people know about Poppy, I really hope you find her soon. X

Thank you for looking everyone. I've heard absolutely nothing as yet, just hoping that someone has picked her up and is taking good care of her as I hate to think of her out there alone.
Have contacted all the relevant people at Stanmer Park, the dog warden, the police, the vets etc...

Walked around house area and lower woods told a few walkers to keep eyes peeled and let the little café owner over the other side of park know that she is missing. Fingers crossed. Might be able to look in upper woods later today.Last edited: 2013-07-01 12:36:51 by tynkerbelluk

Hoping that Poppy is handed in today. Fantastic that she is chipped. We are too far away to help search - would be there in a flash if we were closer. Keeping out fingers and paws crossed xx
Flintstones
Stanmer House has facebook, twitter, email and phone, make sure you contact them. I'm sure they would display a poster. Would she come to you if you cooked some sausages on a BBQ?

We lost Poppy near the fallen tree in the middle of the park. She was spotted at 4pm cowering under a van and ran off in the direction of Stanmer House.
So hope we find her soon - we are heartbroken without her x

circulating on twitter as owner is on twitter.

I do hope Poppy is found safe soon. I was walking with my dog in Stanmer woods this afternoon but did not see her. As the last post states the Park is large, where did you first notice her missing? I will keep my eyes peeled for her tomorrow but hopefully she will be found before that.
Flintstones
Sorry to see that Poppy is lost. Stanmer Park is huge do you know whereabouts? Near the Pond, Stanmer House, tea shop, car parks? It was Race for Life today and hopefully some kind person has found her and will contact the Dog Warden. xx
