- I have only just seen this. So terriblly sad. If this is a dog walking area, the council and Rail people need to be contacted - preferably by the local paper! This is what happened where I live - we assume our parks are safe - no one tells us otherwise. No one expects a rail track to be unfenced in a popular area. Terrible, absolutely terrible. God bless sweet Millie. God called you home sweetheart as you had already earnt your wings. Owners, Millie will remain with you always - I know how heart wrenching this is, I lost my dog in the same way. Millie needs you to go on, for her. She is safe now and is only a whisper away until you are together once more, never ever to be parted again. I pray in time your hearts will know peace. God bless you and sweetest Millie, always. xxx http://www.change.org/petitions/national-campaign-for-cassie-s-law-for-safer-railways-for-dog-and-ownerLast edited: 2013-07-07 18:33:44 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

- Put forward to be advertised in Countryman's Weekly. It does take a while to go to print though so hope she is home before it is published.. There have been too many disappear unaccountably around this area although several have been recovered once it is realised that there is so much publicity. Local radio and newspaper all need to cover the story.

- Oh I so wanted to see Millie in the blue section when I switched on there - I can only sit with fingers crossed, and say a prayer that she is found/returned very quickly. I fully understand the heartache must be unbearable but if we all do our bit, it might help to bring her home safely and swiftly. Will widen the circulation outside of my Flatcoat friends and get as many as possible to join in the hunt for Millie - stay safe sweetheart xxx Last edited: 2013-07-02 17:47:05 by sallybee

- Please don't give up hope. There have been lots of stolen dogs returned to owners as a result of publicity. Make her too hot to handle - hundreds of posters everywhere - and what about a local newspaper ad? Some stolen dogs in our area have been returned following an ad.

- Get those posters up, everywhere. And pester everyone! X

- Many thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions. Most we have already done, but keep them coming because there's always going to be something we've forgotten to do. Unfortunately our gut feeling is that she's been snatched - and whoever did it has ripped the heart out of this family.

- Shared on my FB page, to far away to help search, but hope Millie is safely back home soon, our thoughts with her owner's.

- I’ve found that it helps to print out an A4 sheet of paper cut into business-card size slips, each with brief details and your phone number on. Give them to all the local dog walkers, postmen etc. you meet. Then if someone has news when they’re out and about they don’t need to find a poster or log on to the site to contact you. You could really do with a photo on them as flatcoats aren't recognised by everyone. Glad she's tagged and microchipped. Hope she's home soon.

- Thanks again Sammie, I have spoken to the owner who will be postering tomorrow. Milie does know the area well so hopefully will find her way home overnight. If not she needs all the publicity she can get.
- 2013-07-01 21:51 Sammie
- Have cross posted to some FB pages; Poochpal, if you know the area maybe give them a call, I have only been to Wareham forest once!
- 2013-07-01 21:22 Sammie
- Have spoken to owner and they are going to send me another photo that maybe a bit better.
She went missing from the Common, which is not in the main forest. She was being walked by owners son on a walk she knows very well and they believe she would not have gone off by herself.
They have searched all day and spoken to lots of people but no sightings.
I have advised they must notify Network rail as there is a line close by, but hopefully just to rule this hazzard out.
Sent the usual info sheets for them to see if their is anything they hadn't covered so far.Last edited: 2013-07-01 21:49:52 by Sammie - 2013-07-01 21:16 Gino
