  • Found In Region Wales
  • Found In Post Area SA12

  • Other Info We found this dog running across the road - he had no collar. He had clearly been living rough for some time in the forest. We couldnt leave him. His coat was severly matted and he has lost some teeth. It took a while to coax him to the vehicle he has been severely traumatised but is coming round with some TLC and we can tell he is a loving dog. We think he is a Paterdale Terrier, he did meet the description of a lost dog on this site called Chiv but it isnt him. Not Castrated.

Just as an update for anyone interested. He is staying with us now for the time being. Had his first jab at the vets and has been checked over. He is not chipped. Getting his strength and a handful when hes out wont let him off lead, but quite placed at home. If the wife has her way he will be staying lol. Our jack russell treats him as a 2nd class citizen.

For others info its not scruff(below, no patch on his chest its higher on his neck). Thanks for photo Rachel. I will try and get some more photos of him its difficult at the moment as hes crouching a lot I'm trying to get a good close front shot with him sitting straight. When I do I'll post it.

I can't change the photos on here - have tried deleting, have tried cropping and they are both below 1MB but can't upload have tried this many times so advice welcomed. I have a photo of his patch and can email it.
MikeJames
Hi Rachel, there's no lump on his privates I'm afraid. When we call him scruff still no recognition from him at all. His tail is about 5 inches long. I believe this dog was abandoned up there in the last couple of months, he has been ill treated and is more scared of males. A dog couldnt have survived in the forestry areas over the winter months.
Im updating a with a photo of his patch.

Could he be 53992 Bruce on here?
MikeJames
We are contacting the RCT dog warden tomorrow. We hope to get him scanned for chip on tuesday either at the vets or at the Friends of the Animals
MikeJames
Hi Rachel, as discussed i'll have a look tomorrow to see if the lump is there, doesnt respond to the name scruff, its what we've been calling him he is very traumatised though.
Suzee he does look like Heff I know, I spoke to Megan earlier though on that number and she said he'd been castrated - this one hasn't hes got a large pair of balls, he did look exactly like Chiv another dog on here too.
Molly, I will try and get a photo with the patch bit on tomorrow morning he is fast asleep. It might be useful to do one of his bits as well if I can. Is there anyway I can add extra photos on here or is it just two? If so I'll del the existing ones and replace.

Mike, could you look at the photos and description of Heff 44912. He does look very much like the dog you have found even has missing teeth. Would be great if it were Heff.
Goldenfrodo
Thanks for posting the photo and looking after him. I'll put him on my Doglost Wales FB Page to see if anybody recognises him.
Definitely not Chiv as he's back with his family x

Hello
Thanks for your interest. Ive just updated with photos - I thought I had put them on this is the first time Ive been on here. Just to say this dog hasnt been castrated.
The area in which I found him is a large area of middle of nowhere forestry commission land which I cover, it is a good 1000 feet above sea level. Not sure how long he had been in the wild but he wouldnt have been able to survive in that environment before April.
Mollychops
