JB you are right to be proud of Tiga the wonder dog! What a lovely outcome.

Sorry not posted b4 but have internet probs.
Jenny and Tiga tracked through the woods after a sighting of Wilma in the next field. He was air scenting so Jenny said Wilma must be nearby and then spotted her curled up under a bunch of nettles on the other side of a fence. She gave Tiga treats to get Wilma's attention so I cld get nearer to her and gave her the proverbial sardines! She wolfed them down and I got my hand on her collar, put lead on and then had to lift her through the nettles over the fence! Ouch! Owner came to meet us, Wilma slightly lame so was carried out and taken to vets. Luckily just grazes and tired so a very happy ending. A first for me! Have found a lost dog before but never been the one to catch the dog! Great work by Tiga and Jenny and lots of lovely supporters who helped in the search.

Great story and I'm rather hoping that all those involved will participate in a little filming of this one.

Hello springermad haven't left the house today, understand that all flyers in rye and round the lanes have been picked up and Facebook/twitter sorted. If you are near posters would be grateful to you to take down otherwise will try heading out that way later tonight. Wilma's grazed and stiff and not keen on either of us leaving her just now, she's flaked out on the sofa, in the shade. Thanks for your help everyone has been so kind
Tiga
I hope Wilma didn't mind Tiga having a little rest in her basket!

JB what a clever Tiga. Clairsi - I hope Wilma is rested and feeling none the worse for her little adventure?! Would you like me to come back down and take the posters down along the B2089 or are you ok doing that?
Clairsi
And so to bed......we've all turned in now, with Wilma Tenderfoot safely tucked up in bed. Thanks to everyone who has helped in the search, we truly didn't believe we would have such a happy ending.
Tiga
So proud of Tiga who picked up the scent on the opposite side of the road to where expected and led us into a farm, he was then heading back across fields in the direction of home. We then had a call from a lady in the next house who said Wilma was in her garden. Unfortunately Wilma a rescue dog was frightened of men and legged it off across fields as the ladys' husband tried to chase. Tiga picked up the scent and tracked across and round fields before going into a wood and down to a stream trickling gently. We were almost at the end of this wood when Tiga took us to one side and there in front of us hiding in the undergrowth was Wilma. A tail wagging Tiga and a tin of sardines coaxed her to us where Clarkey secured her on a lead while we guided the owner into us and reunited Wilma with a very happy owner. She was carried back to the car and off to the vet where her wounds were not serious and she was allowed back home after treatment.

I am sure JB will update with the details later. From what she said, it looks as if Wilma will be ok, but she does need treatment asap. She has been revived by sharing some of Tiga's sardines.

Oh that is brilliant news, well done JB and Tiga! Fingers crossed Wilma is not too badly injured.
DogLostOwl
The search party is currently struggling back through undergrowth in a wood, and Wilma is being carried as she has injured a front leg.
DogLostOwl
Just had a text from JB to say that Tiga went straight to Wilma and got her. What a little star!

Just been down to poster along the B2089.
Poster up at the primary school (Broad Oak/Brede end), the playing field opposite the school and various telegraph poles on both sides of the road, I think as far as Dumb Woman Lane, near the Rye end. Not done in all the best places as it is a very very busy road to stop and poster. If no news by this evening, I will try and get back along there when hopefully it is a bit quieter and do the places I missed. Good luck Tiga!
DogLostSpringerMad - Area Volunteer, East Sussex
Clarkey - stop moaning!!! If can go out to do posters, hopping on one leg, you can do 'heat' haha!!
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Springermad: hope you are ok. Have to go to see Lizzie's mum but will go to Udimore after. JB and Tiga will be here this afternoon if Wilma not found by then. Am hoping JB does not want me to run around with her as I don't 'do' heat and it's hot already! Hope Wilma is ok and we find her very soon.

Just got back, only managed one poster so far, as I stepped on a drawing pin and it went straight through my flip flop so have hobbled home, and off out again to do more shortly. Excellent that Tiga will be down.

Just had message from my local dog warden. This dog belongs to a friend of hers and the owner has been out all night, but no sign. JB did you manage to talk to Clair?
Tiga
I will contact the owner and see if they want Tiga to help.
