- If no owner can be found please do contact Elaine at Greyhoundhomer she may be able to take him. Don't let a perfectly healthy dog be PTS.

- Any news on this dog?

- Tattoos in each ear mean the dog was Irish born, a tattoo in one ear means a Greyhound is English Born. Irish dogs get to the UK either for racing and rehoming after their career is over, or sometimes they're shipped over for rehoming after their racing career is over - but I think the later is less common. Can you read any part of the tattoos?
IRISH BORN GREYHOUNDS
Three letters (left ear) i.e. AAA
Two letters (right ear) i.e. BB
First letter in right ear indicates year of whelp. - 2013-07-09 18:31 Kaffirdog

- No problem hazebella, the same applies to any Greyhound with ear tattoos anywhere in the country that is status 'Found' and where the dog is not microchipped. If the ear markings can be passed to me I can contact RGT head office to see if they can track down on their database. I'm not sure whether other rescues and rehoming centres that rehome Greys maintain any 'doggy databases' that retain this information against owners.

- Can we find out what the ear marks are? If so they can be passed to RGT head office to see if they have the owner on their database. If the owner remains unfound and no local rescue shelter can take him Elaine at Greyhoundhomer (www.greyhoundhomer.co.uk) in Bishops Stortford maybe able to take him for rehoming. Or RGT Head Office (www.retiredgreyhounds.co.uk) maybe able to find him a space if Elaine can't take him. I'm happy to liaise with RGT Head Office with regard to the earmarks if someone can post them on here.
