Have just read on facebook that a bull mastiff type dog was found dead on a farm in Preston this morning. No collar, no microchip. Could possibly be this dog? I am trying to find contact information for the original poster, but it says "found on the village farm just outside Preston".
DogLostMillieVW - Area Volunteer - West Wiltshire
Any updates?
duffs54
Any more news on this poor dog, and is he still being fed etc!
Mollychops
Ive had a look at both Vinnys and Murphys pages but this dog is red in colour
DogLostMe N My Girl - Administrative Volunteer
Could it be Vinny 39959 described as a bull mastiff pup in May 2012, pups change. He went missing from Watton under Edge which is Gl12 postcode and is only 20 miles away.
Millys Mum
labradorloopy - I agree with you that there's a possibility that this stray Mastiff could be Murphy as looks similar to me. And, as we know on DL, stranger things have happened! A possible scenario is that Murphy may have been stolen (or taken in by someone) and, at some stage, moved to the South West. This poor lad looks such a lovely boy and so I do hope it won't be long until he's safe and sound.
labradorloopy
Is there any chance this could be Murphy? I know it's not the right area, but Murphy went such a long time ago he could be anywhere now.
Mollychops
Also sighted in a garden earlier in the year on the Eastcourt side of Kemble airfield !!
Carol
Thanks mollychops for updates xxxx
Mollychops
Another sighting by someone else last week crossing the A419 by dobbies garden centre, which is a straight line from Preston to where he has been seen in Siddington . This was early in the mornng

Hi there Jonboy, thanks for coming on and posting, I hear Jenners put this on the local Town facebook. This is incredible, sounds like he is having late dinner in Preston and Early breakfast with you !! Jenners is going to plot this and find out more if she can. I will put posters up in Siddington shop, and around the village, to see if he is visiting anyone else
Jonboy74
This dog was on our drive last night 4am .last week 5am stole dog food .got it on CCTV .siddington GL7 6HR
Mollychops

Wouldn't it be a good idea to take Mogs2 offer am anxious about the wellbeing of this dog as eating fat balls will kill him xxx

I live near Swindon if you need some help catching this dog. Experienced with most breeds as dog trainer/behaviour help. Used to sitting out all night sometimes to catch strays or lost animals!
duffs54
Bless him he looks so sad, hope he is reunited or found a new home once he has been caught, good luck all involved and fingers crossed.
Carol
Hope it's caught xxx
SuzeeBee
This dog looks like an Anatolian Shepherd.

I have been following this post and you are working so hard to get this poor dog to safety. Hopefully with the help of the trap he will be caught safely very soon xx
Mollychops
Good idea Spindle. I don't know of any but maybe Icould ask my vets. Ive just arranged to borrrow a large trap , and fantastic trapper Jenners is coming over to help me as Ive never had any experience with one. Im just waiting to hear back from the people whose garden we will be taking over for the foreseeable !
mathers22
My first thought was part Mastiff - hope he's soon caught xx
Spindle
I would say mastiff or mastiff cross. So sad out there all alone. A bitch on heat may be the key.Last edited: 2013-08-22 15:19:41 by Spindle
Mollychops
Thanks Sandie, That's what I was thinking and a strong one !!
DogLostAngus
Mollychops - I have added both images as they are so much clearer than the existing ones - think that boy will need a big trap
Mollychops
2 very exciting new photos have now been taken, One will be put on here shortly . Its a great clear picture of this dog.
Mollychops
Dw has been contacted , but they've said there is nothing they can do . they don't have a trap. I will try and get mine over there, but it wont be before next weekend now

Fingers crossed for a photo, hope they can get close enough at some point :-)
Mollychops
Yes the build is large
DogLostMillieVW - Area Volunteer - West Wiltshire
Guiness is a black mini schnauzer, wonder if his coat would go curly when unclipped? Can you confirm build is large? Last edited: 2013-07-09 08:03:37 by MillieVW - Area Volunteer - West Wiltshire
Mollychops
The people who saw the dog were certain not a lab, as much curlier a coat
DogLostMillieVW - Area Volunteer - West Wiltshire
I thought guiness or Murphy, guiness has quite a smooth coat though.
debbie
Wouldn't be Guinness would it ? X
Mollychops
Finders will be leaving dog food out to hopefully keep the dog in the area
Timmy's Mummy
Lets hope someone leaves some proper food and a bowl of water out for this poor doggie? Bone meal is very bad for animals. xx
Mollychops
The fact the dog is searching for food at night makes me think he has been dumped . Ive asked finders to contact the local dog warden
