Oh no, I am very sad to read this. You are right though, she was enjoying her last run. Thoughts are with you all xxx

Oh how tragic. I am so very sorry and my thoughts are with the family at this sad time. Could she possibly have been bitten by an adder? There are usually many about when the weather is hot. Run free at the bridge, lovely Moss - plenty of rabbits there to chase xxxxLast edited: 2013-08-13 23:02:29 by digbysmum

Our Moss was found this afternoon, dead in a field. She was found very close to where we last saw her. We do not know what happened or how she died. We guess perhaps she had a heart attack, mid run, and just died but we don't know. Thank you to everyone who has helped us search, to those who have posted comments of encouragement, advice and help, to those who have spread the word, to those who ave contacted us with possible sightings. Your help and thoughts have meant so much during such a horrible time. Thank you especially to the lady who found Moss today and called me. We feel we gave Moss the best life we could and have some comfort in knowing she died doing something she loved - running! We love you Moss and will always remember you.

runninglurcher: exactly which part of the country park did Moss go missing from?
runninglurcher
Hiya, no news or confirmed sightings so far unfortunately. It is an area that spreads for miles and we have tracked it and tracked it. We still keep our fingers crossed..

Any news or sightings of Moss? Still not sure exactly which part of the country park Moss went missing from .. is it a big country park? Sorry, but I don't know the area so need someone local to help with info! Runninglurcher perhaps you would let us know if you have any news please. Remember in this hot weather she will be near a water source. Don't give up as we know dogs will turn up at any time. Have you left scent articles at place Moss went missing?
Lurcher SOS
Have put this on our facebook page now.

If you haven't already done so I suggest you contact Southern Lurcher Rescue, who have lots of supporters in the area, who might be able to help your search. They will put missing lurcher notices on their own busy forum and FB page too

Hi runninglurcher. When Moss go missing from a car park or when she was walking with you? You are doing all the right things. Remember dogs usually go back to the place where they were lost so it would be an idea to follow the scenting advice you were given. Keep checking the dogs that the dog wardens have found, also the local vets, rescue centres etc. Also let the dog wardens in surrounding areas know as some people that pick up a dog will take them to their home and then report/hand them in. I hope you get some news soon from the posters.
runninglurcher
Thank you. She went missing at Forst Way country park near Withyham. We have contacted the police, dog wardens, put up over 100 posters, put an ad in the local paper, put up online ads, knocked on doors, gone into travellers sites, spoken to local farmers and no positive sightings. It has now been 10 days. Of course we are trying to remain positive but also now being realistic in that it does not look good. We will however keep looking and never give up on our Moss.

Shame it wasn't Moss, but we'll keep looking. Where exactly did Moss go missing from? Can we narrow down the area at all please runninglurcher? She's got to be near somewhere she can get water in this hot weather and most likely will show herself in the cool of dawn and evenings. Hoping for a sighting soon.

Hello
Just wanted to say thank you everyone for the messages and texts. Sadly the last possible in Lewis was not our moss. We will however keep searching until we find her. Thank you again.
