CorbiereW You could be right; makes you think!

PS It strikes me the man who bought Elvis suspected something wasn't right and bought Elvis to get him to safety; otherwise why would he have checked on DogLost?

Its great that Elvis is home and safe...
It would have been nice to think that had the people who bought Elvis in the pub taken him to register him at the vets, he would have been scanned and then flagged up as missing... My vets don't scan unless the owner requests it.. It does make me worry..:(
Elvis is a very, very lucky lad.. so glad hes home where he should be xXx

Welcome home Elvis. Glad you are back safely where you belong.

Wonderful news. So happy you have "Elvis" back home with you. I would never buy a pet in this way either; dont think most people would. When the police were being asked once about dogs being stolen, they say sometimes the thief will tell someone that their "Auntie" or "Uncle" has died and say that they cant keep him/her but "I only want £??? for the dog. Some people are very gullible, others like the thieves very plausible. So pleased that the person had the decency to hand him back.:-) Stay safe now okay/
Maty
Warms your heart that there are still some people about that will do the right thing :)
Although I do wonder why anyone would think it was right to buy a pet in the pub! Why would you think that was a good idea???

We're DELIGHTED to let you all know that we have Elvis back! We had a call from a guy who had bought him in a pub on Fri night and then checked on Doglost over the weekend and realised he must have been stolen and brought him back to us. Thank you to him and his family and to Doglost!!!
Saza
Put poster up at Rokers. Maybe need a few more around Sutton Green area? Hope you hear some good news soon.

I've had a message via facebook to say.

"It might be a good idea to take posters today to any working men's clubs and the pubs in the local Sutton Green/Woking/Guildford area"
DogLostreggiemollieros
Will share on twitter. I really hope you get some good news soon. It's absolutely terrible that people think they can just take someone's beloved pet.
Saza
Good that all the neighbours are aware.
Have you put up posters in Sainsbury's or Rokers? Happy to do that tomorrow if not.
Deborah
Thanks Saza. We asked everyone on our road if anyone had CCTV and one house did see a white post-van sized van with a passenger with a high vis vest at 5.29pm. The van was acting suspiciously (driving up, reversing, parking up etc) so sounds like them, but can't get a reg plate.
Saza
Do hope Elvis is soon found.
Did the people who spoke with the 2 men see any vehicle or know what they had been doing in the area? Were they working locally? May give an idea where he is now. Will keep my eyes open for Elvis. xxLast edited: 2013-07-27 12:55:43 by Saza

Just got a better picture sent to us of Elvis taken the day before he went missing and just a few days after his haircut, which shows his face better. Can't seem to put it as the poster image. Thanks again for everyone's help
Deborah
Oh and we have also notified police, dog wardens, local vets, RSPCA and have visited our local travellers site to ask them to share posters
Deborah
Thank you all so much for helping. There's still no news of Elvis. We have put posters up all around the local area, shared details on Facebook, hired Pet Detectives to help us with a digital campaign, put posts on Guildford Gumtree, Friday-ad, Preloved and are trying to look at all re-sell sites. If anyone has any other advice or can help us continue to spread the word then we'd be so grateful. He is a much loved family pet and our 5 year old son's best friend.
Maty
Have shared to Schnauzer Forum and also via FB. Elvis needs to be made too hot to handle.

Will try and contact owner later - not far from me
