Everything Is Crossed For You SweetHeart!

- You are right. Home checks are carried out if you want to rehome an animal. We had two or three homechecks before we were allowed to rehome our two rescue cats from. And I think that`s the way it should be. We are all praying for you fella. All xd.

- I am sure any potential forever home will be vetted first, I think most homes work on that basis.
And I am sure that the home would not have taken on a banned type
Just keep tweeting and FB sharing this lad....and hopefully there is a forever home or fosterer out their for him :) - 2013-07-29 12:07 Unknown
- Sorry no owner has come forward yet. If not maybe he will get the sympathy vote, and find a new home; hne deserves it. Paws, and fingers xd. Keep us posted.

- Goldenfrodo is right, this page is to help find this dogs owners.
On here we are all dog lovers and are aware of the craziness of the Dangerous Dogs Act but as the law stands pit bulls are a banned breed. I don't like it anymore than you do but it is what the authorities work with.
Please respect what this website is for, to help reunite dogs with their owners. - 2013-07-28 12:26 Goldenfrodo
- I've asked you not to post things on here other than to help this dog find its owner.
As one of the North West Co-ordinators I have to scroll through all the posts to find out if there's anything relevant to helping this poor boy get back home. I wont be asking again but will be 'pinking' all irrelevant comments. - 2013-07-28 12:03 R.
- GOLDENFRODO - I'm Aware Of This, The Only Reason For Discussing 'Dangerous' Dogs Is Becasue It's Been Said That This Little Fella's A Pitbull & I'm Just Wanting People To Understand That Pitbulls Aren't 'Dangerous' Dogs... But Infact It's Their 'Owners'!
- 2013-07-28 12:01 R.
- JANIEJEWEL1649 - I Have A Staffy Myself & He's A Big Softie!
They Shouldn't Be PTS At All In My Opinion, It's Their 'Owners' That Should Be PTS! - 2013-07-28 11:23 Goldenfrodo
- Can I please remind you all that this page is for trying to find the owners of the dog and not for discussions about dangerous dogs etc. Thank you.
- 2013-07-28 10:42 Unknown
- R. Most definitely the owners in most cases. There is some conflicting laws about keeping a pit bull in the UK. One site says the must be pts, while another says you can keep one as long as you follow the rules. As for Staffordshire Bull terriers, my siser owned one for 14 years, very gentle dog it was too. But she was sometimes "accosted" in the street by people insisting the dog was a Pitbull, and therefore should be PTS immediately. In fact she was a full Staffie, and was off a reputable Staffie breeder. I am sure other Staffie owners have had this problem too. The rspca said this law is like cracking a nut with a sledgehammer. Irresponsible ownership has caused these laws, not the dogs.

- It Really Breaks My Heart People Thinking All Pitbulls/Staffies/Other Bull Type Dogs Are 'Dangerous', 'Cause They're Not!
Like I Said It's The 'Owners'.
& In All Honesty, If I Seen A Dog On The Street Passing By That Was Muzzled I'd Think It Was A Bit Nasty Towards People Or Other Dogs (Which In My Eyes, Isn't Right If They're Not)... It's Not Right That Pitbulls Have To Be Muzzled Just Because Of Their Name Of Breed!
I Understand A Dog Been Muzzled If It Gets A Bit Excited 'Round Other Dogs & If It Is A Bit Nippy, But They Shouldn't Be Bad Named Because Of Their Breed!
As I Said, I Will Fight & Argue 'Til My Last Breath To Get People To Understand That It's Not The Pitbull/Staffy/Or Othe Bull Type Breed, But The 'Owner' That Makes Them That Way!
I Also Know Someone Who's Had A Pitbull & It's Soft As Clarts! Aslong As They're Brought Up Correctly There's No Fault At All With Them. - 2013-07-27 19:35 Unknown
- ~R I agree, and can understand your rage. We knew of someone who once ow ned a pitbull, and he was a lovely dog, and was treated properly. I understand that you can own a pitbull, but because of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 it has to be registered, neutered, microchipped, and muzzled while it is being walked. These acts come in because of the minority of irresponsible dog ownership, consequently the majority of people have to suffer because of these so called dog lovers. Yes, sometimes I think the owners of some dogs should be pts, not the dog. Grrrr.... Grrrrr......

- I Will Fight & Argue 'Til My Very Last Breath So These Poor Dogs Don't Get Bad-Mouthed Or PTS Just Because Of Their Name!!!
It's The Heartless People In The World That Need Telling (In My Eyes, They Should Be PTS!!!)Last edited: 2013-07-27 18:46:48 by R. - 2013-07-27 18:40 R.
- NORA - I've Read Somewhere That Apparently Dogs With Bull Terrier In Them Have Pitbull In Them... Think This Is True?
&& For All The People That Think Pitbulls Are 'Dangerous' Are Counterfactual TBH. Some Of Them MIGHT Be, & This Is Down To Their OWNERS!!
So If You Want Someone To Blame For Dogs Bein 'Dangerous', Take It Out On The Poor Dogs 'Owners'... NOT The Dogs!!!
I Wouldn't Even Call People 'Owners' Of Animals If They Make Them Fight, Or Nasty Towards Other Animals!
In All Honesty, If I Had The Chance All The People In This World That Made Poor Innocent Animals Suffer Would Get PTS
Has Me RAGING People Thinking Like This Of Certain Type Of Dogs... Just Because Of The People That Bring Them Up Incorrectly!!! - 2013-07-27 18:27 R.
- & This Little Fella Does'nt Look Like A Pit Bull.
- 2013-07-27 13:16 R.
- Can I Just Say, Why Do Loads Of People Think These Type Of Dogs Are 'Dangerous'?... They ARE'NT If Brought Up Correctly!
Has Me Fuming People Thinking This!!! - 2013-07-27 10:05 Nora
- I am hoping that as Manchester dogs home have taken him in, that means they consider that he is more of a staffie cross, and he doesn't have pitbull in him
- 2013-07-27 09:59 Nora
- Even if he is a cross, the dangerous dog act of 1991 refers to types of breed, so if he has any pit bull characteristics he can be considered a Pit bull terrier type under this act, therefore banned.
It is possible to get a exemption on these dogs, if he is not considered a danger to the public and certain conditions are met.
I assume no chip was found.......poor lad....if he is a banned dog, his best chance is for the owner to come forward as he/she may have a exemption for him - 2013-07-26 20:13 Unknown
- Let us all hope for a happy outcome here. All xd.
- 2013-07-26 19:52 Kretka3
- Hi All.
I don't know what they will do - I've been told in our shelter we can not keep him. He is a pit bull - banned dog and that they will probably do it. And that is why I wrote in advertise "probably". I am only trying to help that poor dog find his owner, as I don't want him to be PTS. I am not even sure if they would inform us what happen with him. The dog fallowed girl who brought it to our shelter as she didn't know what else to do. We had him for only short while before MDH collected him. - 2013-07-26 11:30 R.
- Lets Hope This Fella IS'NT Another Wilf!
JACKALEE - Could I Just Ask, If He's Not Being PTS Within A Week (Everything Crossed He's Not) Then Why Has It Been Put Down That He Will On The Missing Pet Register?
Has Me Thinking As In Who The Hell Posts These Poor Dogs Up, 'Cause In My Eyes Whoever Posted It On The Other Site Are Irresponsible (Especially With Their Words!) - 2013-07-26 10:53 Nora
- Jackalee, thank goodness for that, I questioned it myself as they are a rescue....he at the Manchester dogs home, they have been very unhelpful almost to the point of rudeness about another lost dog, refusing to check a lost dogs details with another dog with a similar description taken into their care recently ...which maybe why some people are very concerned about this one....and because in the national pet register details it actually says "will probably be put down within a week if not claimed"Last edited: 2013-07-26 11:24:48 by Nora

- Kretka3, thank you for registering the found on our website. I am going to amend your description as its giving the wrong signal, Manchester Dogs Home won't pts unless seriously ill.
- 2013-07-26 08:58 Unknown
- Carol I absolutely agree with you: seven days is far too soon, and grossly unfair to the dog. Hope Mr David Cameron can help. Hopefully an owner will be found, or someone will give this poor dog a new loving home. Paws, and fingers xd.
- 2013-07-26 08:20 Carol
- That's awful to put a dog down in7 days I am going to email David Cameron to get a bill together and passed in order for dogs not to be put down unless they are ill this is disgusting , this is another WILF xxx
