There was a possible sighting of Charlie yesterday at 1:30pm, walking down Red Lane near the bowling green looking skinny and mucky.

Charlies owner has received a reported sighting of Charlie today - approximately 2pm near Whitworth High School. The lady who saw him is certain it was him and the sighted dog was very scared and timid.

There has been a previous reported sighting of Charlie in this area.

Charlies owner can't get there until a little later this evening, but if you are in this area of Whitworth, please look out for him.

All crossed this is Charlie.

Hi Bo, thanks for the alerts. The Bolton vets dog went to Leigh cats and dogs home and was reunited later that day with his owners. The dog on the web link at the JRTrescue is remarkably like Charlie. I have tried ringing but no answer so I have emailed requesting further information. Thanks again and I will keep you updated x

It's great news after nothing for weeks I can't tell you how happy I am. Went back to search in the park tonight and met a lady. She has been followed by Charlie the last 2 mornings . She confirmed that it was definitely him from the poster and is going to carry food and a spare lead from now on and try to gain his trust. The bbq is a great idea. He has been sighted at 9am approx both days x

I don't have a lot of detail, but I have received a message from Charlie's owner that there have been 2 separate sightings reported of Charlie today - on the infirmary side of Cronkeyshaw common.

Jane has been to the area, but no sign of Charlie when she got there.

jane,i live in OL16 area,yesterday some builders near me found a jack russell that was slightly injured,they were directed to my house because i also own a jack russell.Together with a few more neighbours we searched for its owner,the builders rang animal warden and was advised to take it to a vet,not long after we located the owner and he was returned.Sorry it wasnt charlie i hope you find him soon.Iv only made the connection after noticing your last comment and asking the builders if it was the dog they reported

All the information the wardens have is that it was left at a vet. Rang all the vets in rochdale and all say they have had nothing handed in. Not nsure what to do next to trace this dog x

spoke on the phine and just come across the biggest loophole to not getting your dog back. Dogs that are found and are registered with the wardens ARE allowed to stay with the finders but potential owners ARE NOT allowed to know where the dogs is to check for themselves!! We have to wait for the wardens to decide if it is a match and contact us. I have never heard such rubbish, surely any found dog should be made public and the potential owner should be able to check for themslves, especially in cases like Charlie who has been out fending for himself for 4 weeks and will probably not look much like his picture or basic description that the wardens have!! Sorry but I find this very upsetting :(

New sighting of Charlie in little woodland area near Shawclough Primary School on Friday earlier in the week chasing sheep on fields behind Oxford pub. So sorry you've had no recent sightings Jane - this does happen with lost dogs so try not to worry too much...just a case of trying to work out where he is lurking now.

I know how hard you have been working and that you have walked miles postering and posting fliers already. With the schools going back next week, it may be worth making sure that there are posters up around any local schools, if you haven't already. Kids notice everything, so you want to make sure they know he is missing.

Please try to stay positive - all it could take is one call. All crossed that call will be very soon. x

Hi Claire and honeyharvey, kept watch again last night and my partner spotted what he thought was a small fox but this could very well have been Charlie coming out of the pathway I think he is hiding and running down the side of Greenbank school where he has been sighted twice now. The food has gone again and it is deffo dog paw prints on his bedding not fox or cat prints. I would be very happy to meet up at the tesco express at 3pm today and look for both Harvey and Charlie, any help gratefully recieved x

Hi Jane I am helping to look for Cleo as I help doglost but I am more than happy to help out. We were told today that dogs are sold in the pubs on Whitworth Road so it is worth putting his poster in every pub in the area. They are pretty good at putting posters behind the bar or on the door. Also every entrance to the woods where he was lost too. If you want to meet up and give me some posters and explain where he was lost that would be fab. Also Harvey may have been seen at Tesco Extra on Whitworth Road he is a huge dogue de bordeaux also missing xx If you want to meet up tomorrow after lunch 3pm that would be great. I have been in contact with Charlies owners via facebook this evening. No news yet on the last of the possible AW dogs, but I have emailed general advice and information.

Charlie went missing on a walk about 3 miles from home. He is a shy and timid dog and was sighted close to where he was lost this morning.

In light of this sighting of Charlie this morning, I have also sent Scenting and plotting advice and discussed with Jane how it may be used to help find him.

Bumped for todays sighting. All crossed there is good news of Charlie very soon. x

• A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (55732)
• Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
• You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
• Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
• If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
• If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
• Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
• DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
