A year has now gone by & we have had no definate sightings of Gringo I suppose all we can hope for now is that sometime in the future he resurfaces, when he first went missing I really thought he would be found in no time as he is such a distinctive looking boxer but it would seem he has disappeared for good. I will keep checking in here just in case, for all you people who are still searching I hope you find your dog soon. Gringo whereever you are you will never be forgotten, maybe one day we will see you again till I hope you are safe & happy xxxx YvonneLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

How did Gringo go missing??When someone takes anothers beloved pet, they don't think of what their actions have done to the animals owner. If i was a magistrate, I would treat them the same as a criminal and sentence them. I hope you find Gringo and that whoever has taken him in, finds in their soul to return him where he belongs.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have PM'd both Gringos Owner and the admin here at doglost, i have an address in Ayr foryou to check out. I saw this boxer in Dalmellington Rd also about 3 months ago and have been looking for him since. i did see one tied up aoutside my local shop recently but no brindle on tail so i assumed that was the same boxer. On leaving my friends on Saturday i saw a white boxer fitting Gringos description leaving a house a few doors away. Dont know if its the same boxer i saw tied up at shops but need to check this out. If Gringos owner or Admin at Doglost could contact me i will give the address. I keep driving past hoping to see him again. We stay just off the Dalmellington Road so i hope its same dog as previously sighted. xxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Gringo is so distinctive and great looking that postering everywhere may well make him too hot to handle. Yvefinn, I'm from Edinburgh so not 100% sure of the area but my I got my springer from a farm in Mauchline and I still keep in touch every now and then with the breeder. I can certainly ask if its near her that she keeps a look out and posters if no-one else has done that area. Let me know xxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

it was about 2 weeks ago. i was walking my dog down the burn at the bottom of my street and my dog tried to attack this white boxer. he didn't seem to have an owner but started to play with a staffordshire bull terrier that was being walked by a man who looked around 20-30 years old. it was the last time i saw the dog and i live in ardrossan. after i saw the dog i keep seeing his picture and i have attempted to look for him but no success. it was a white boxer with a black collar on and is a male. i know what it is like to have a dog stolen or lost and i can't get this boxer out my head now. i hope this might help you.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thanks sheba & shelley, I cross check most sites I come across, Ive sent posters to lots of rescues, -I really do not know what to do next-possibly resend posters, I think Gringo's family have lost hope of getting him back but I just cannot give up & I won't, I now think Gringo could be anywhere in the UK so I have contacted irish & english rescues too, think I will need to get a list of every rescue in the UK & send them posters- it is unbelievable that no one has seen Gringo since he disappeared-he is so distinctive looking- on a brighter note a white boxer was found 6years after it went missing because of a microchip however his family had moved on & he was rehomed- I would hate for that to happen to Gringo though I would try to understand if his family do move on - I would have him back myself no matter how long he had been missing- Gringo please show yourself soon sweetheart xxxx YvonneLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Had a phone call tonight from lady in Kilmarnock she seen a white boxer today with a young lad who acted weird, tried to hide the dog by pulling him into shop doorway when the lady tried to talk to him, she says it was all a bit suspisious like he did not want anyone to see the dog close up, I know it is a long shot but is there anyone in the Kilmarnock areae who can keep a look out for him, he may not be Gringo but as this lady describe him "tall for a boxer, well looked after, muscular & really handsome boxer" Gringo is all of these things, she can't remember if he had any brindle which is the down side but she is definately going to watch out for the dog again & phone me, I have a good feeling about this one, thank you YvonneLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Gringo's back story is a little complicated, so make it as simple as possible for the media. Try to keep the whole thing to six or seven sentences broken into about three paragraph.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It has been brought to the attention of Doglost, that some people are using the Private Message facility to contact owners offering information on the whereabouts of their missing dogs. But they are requesting a monetary payment to supply such information. We can confirm that these people are using a foreign IP and are not from the UK. Sorry folks this is a long story- thestory behind Gringo In 2003 my husband's Aunt & Uncle died within 4 week of each other, they were only in their 40s, this left their severely disabled son Gordon without carers, Joe( my hubby)& I brought Gordon home with us, Gordon had Down's Syndrome , severe epilepsy and used a wheelchair, the minute he arrived Bonnie ( Gringo's mum) kept fussing over him, Gordon took a seizure, we pulled Bonnie away thinking she had triggered Gordon's seizure but she kept doing the same thing and Gordon kept having a seizure, it took us about a week to realize Bonnie was'nt causing the seizures she was trying to warn Gordon & us he was about to have one, Bonnie was'nt trained to do this, she had not known Gordon before he came to our home, anyway one morning when I was still in bed & Joe was out back Bonnie flew upstairs into Gordon's room setting off the alarms on his door which alerted us, Gordon was having a seizure in his bed and we had no idea, Bonnie saved his life. Not long after Gordon came to live with us Bonnie got pregnant ((Clyde) and on the 1st August she had a litter of 8 pups, Gordon was fascinated & excited so we told him he could pick one of the pups to have his name he picked a white pup with a flash of brindle on his tail we named him Flash Gordon (aka Gringo), 19 days later on the 20th August Gordon died very suddenly & totally unexpectedly we were devasted, he was 23yrs old and his health had been at the best it ever had been. I clung onto Flash but knew I could'nt keep him, many many people wanted him but I kept saying no, I knew there was that special family & home waiting for him, a few weeks later I received an email from the Kordakis family, they had to leave their boxer in the US when they movd here and desperately wanted a boxer could I help, Tony Kordakis is a Pastor of the Church I felt I had found the right home & family, in my mind Gordon was with God & his pup was going to livLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
