After 8 weeks Franni has been caught. She was living on farmland and jointly with local residents and volunteers they managed to catch her. Move this girl into the blue...yippee!!

*** FRANNI *** I am absolutely delighted to tell you that after 8 weeks 'on the run' Franni is safe, well and back with us! I have gone quiet about her for the last few weeks because we have known where she was and we didn't want to scare her off. She was living safely on farmland, every night the manager of the RSPCA, Ruth from the RSPCA, me and other members of the team would take food and watch her. We have been trying to catch her but the little love was having too good a time and wouldn't be caught. With the help of local residents and the local farmer finally we caught her last night. She has gained lots of weight and was allowed us to stroke her. For now she will stay at the RSPCA in a special large kennel so that she can recover from her awfully big adventure, gently get to know humans again and be monitored by the staff and a vet.
We have had to buy a large trap, pay for the use of a smaller trap and may well have to pay a reward. We also want to buy gifts for the various people who have helped with 'Operation Franni'.
Thank you all for your concern and help with this.
Would you all share this post so that we spread the good news. Many thanks xxxLast edited: 2013-10-03 00:25:10 by Angus

Thinking of you Franni and hoping you are alright. We desperately need a sighting of you so that we know where to search. The information given below is very helpful.Thank you.

Oops . I'll try again! RING Karen immediately to let her know you have seen Franni and tell her where. If theres more than one of you there please have just one person drop the food whilst the others stay away, then that person should also walk away and ring Karen. Do not try to catch or entice her towards you. Walk away fm her so she does not feel threatened. This will be the first step to catching her. Karen will take it from there. It isvery important not to scare her off..too many people near Franni is likely to scare her even more .. hope that makes sense! Slowly slowly catchy Franni! Lorn
Haven't heard of any new sightings
Tiga
I gather there have been some more sightings, does anyone know about these and where are they being reported?
Lorn
There are still people on the look out daily also making sure posters remain
up and spreading the word. Personally I am checking the golf course and surrounding woodland looking onto wild park and the university each day which is where she was last seen nearly two weeks ago now. People have also mentioned searching the race course area! A sighting would be good right now!!

Oops .. Sorry pressed wrong button on mobile! Wld love to see some posts to reassure us that all you lovely helpers are still on the lookout for this young dog! Come on Franni, pls give us a clue where you are..it's time to go bk to yr new home.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Are there any searchs going on for Franni this weekend? Although no sightings recently she's likely to be staying in the same areas as she has bn seen before. Remember she will be looking for water and food .. either scavenging or rabbiting? Dogs that get lost often go bk to the area from where they were first lost .. so if you want to search it's well worth trying there and near places she has bn before. She is prob going to stay within those boundaries..a rough circle/triangle usually. Please don't give up as she still needs to be found. Wold love to see some posts on here to reassure everyone that

Page bumped for publicity..thanks Shereen. JB has already posted on page, but think we may need a new sighting of Franni before Tiga can track. Hopefully the article in the Argus will bring us one. If anyone has the link to the article please would they post on this page. Thanks. Come on Franni .. show us where you are.
pip
I have just read about 'Lexi' a gsd that has been reunited today after being tracked down by an amazing tracker dog called 'Tiga' I understand there has to be a scent article for the dog to find a scent is this possible for franni?Last edited: 2013-08-29 19:43:04 by pip
pip
There is a small article in todays argus (29/8) explaining franni's missing status and directing ppl to brighton dog watch facebook page so fingers crossed someone will come up with something helpful and possitive soon. Been round seaford today lots more posters up. Come on franni where r u now.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Lorn Please mention on here when the article goes into Argus as this page can then be 'bumped' Thanks.
pip
No sightings again yesterday but put more posters up and handed a few out to dog walkers who hadn't heard about franni so a few extra eyes on the look out now. Also put some up in seaford and will put some round peacehaven today. Will not give up anything is possible come on franni give us a clue.
Lorn
Lots of people working hard to get her home. Posters up everywhere and people out every day looking for her. Hopefully we will get a glimpse of her soon. I believe there maybe a little article in the Argus as well.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Oops sorry just realised that was yesterday you were going (very small print on my mobile!) Did you have any luck? Please do not give up on Franni .. she is bound to show herself again soon. Good luck searching.
Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
Good luck today pip. Franni is likely to stay in places she has been seen before .. dogs usually do circle/triangle & stay within that area. Hoping there are lots of posters up still so you get more chance of people reporting sightings. Remember Franni will be near/go to place to drink in this warm weather. Very best of luck. Come on Franni .. Pls show yrself again.
pip
Is any1 interested in meeting somewhere tomorrow (weds 28) to go on a search of woodland areas in areas franni was previously sighted? Me and my mum have been out a couple of times from peacehaven but don't know the areas as well as local ppl will and we're going again tomorrow if any1 is available for help with local areas then we thought we could meet up and get a search going.
Lorn
No sightings for a week now!
Lorn
Yes there was a confirmed sighting of her on Monday evening and experienced people went to try and catch her but no luck. We have had no sightings since. There is an organised search scheduled for early Sunday morning details to be confirmed! Come on Franni let us take you home!

No sightings for three days now. Not even sure if she will still be in the Brighton area. Stay safe Franni!
Lorn
Many people been searching today with no joy she tends to show herself at night and early hours when it is quiet. As we are not sure where she is and whether she is still in the area it's important to poster further afield and spread the word. It was shown on the screen at race night and I believe heart fm have been informed! Come on Franni let us get you home!
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Great that Franni is being seen, but as mentioned by Lorn, she will be disorientated as well as scared after 5 days lost. Please do as Lorn suggests, if you see Franni make a note of where stay there quietly if you can and contact owner. Karen, if you get a chance to read this take along some nice sausages or similar with you, hopefully she will be hungary and along with your familiar voice and smell it will help tempt her close enough to you, to reassure her it is really you. Is there someone who can pop into the stables on race hill and let them know? Good luck today, I will check her page again later x
Lorn
FRANNI UPDATE She was seen at 10 to 6 this morning running in the road at the top of Manor Hill into the grass verge in the direction of the TV mast. She seemed disorientated. She has moved from Patcham to the racecourse area. Please do not approach if seen please call Karen with sighting.
MissGosh
I can see this post has had a lot of views but not too many comments. Just to reassure that there is loads of awareness on Facebook in the local Brighton groups - people have been sharing like mad to help get Franni home. On Sunday there is a car boot sale at Carden School Field - maybe you could print some flyers off and circulate at the car boot, as most of the people there will be very local. I have been spreading the word amongst my doggy friends and will keep doing so. Keeping you and Franni in my thoughts xx
