I am delighted to tell you that we were reunited with Rosie earlier this afternoon.
She was "trapped" on an enclosed thicket between slip roads and motorways and quite inaccessible to the general public but the fire service gained access from the motorway armed with a search dog and IR camera and found her quickly.
Lois and I cannot thank you enough for your help and support at this difficult time.
Best regards

- I have just had a very happy and relieved owner on the phone. Rosie is now back home and playing with her companion as if nothing had ever happened. She was hungry and is in need of a good brushing, but is otherwise fine. Owner would like to thank everyone who helped get her home, in particular the Fire Brigade who went above and beyond the call of duty.

- I have sent you another photo of Rosie, full body. Can you put it on this page please. Thanks

- I have just spoken with Rosie's owners. Rosie was seen after the accident running around in a triangle of green area between the A42 and one of the slip roads. The fire unit which attended the accident have been most helpful and today they will be searching this heavily overgrown triangle and other areas in the immediate vicinity to check that she has not been caught by her harness. I have explained to owners that Wispa and I would gladly come and track Rosie, but we obviously cannot do so on a motorway intersection without an official escort. They will pass on my offer to the fire service.

- I work at EMA airport and have emailed the above page around to all of our staff along with Rosie's photo to keep a look out. What about contacting Radio Derby 01332 616161 has anyone done this?

- Just spoken to owner. Rosie is wearing a red collar with brass tag and owner's details/phone. He is more or less sure she is also wearing a black Macuti harness. Have explained she will probably stay around the area. Farmers, highway agencies, police, staff at Donington Park services have been advised (photo etc in their staff room). He is doing all the right things. I'm crossposting to all sites/ FB, Rescues etc, etc. Paws and fingers crossed she's found soon. Is sending another photo which I will forward.

- Dogs who escape after RTA usually stay around the area where they last saw their people. It's not a hard and fast rule, but is frequently the case.
- 2013-08-07 23:19 Owl
