oh blimey, what a rollercoaster, I've just seen that very well spotted by Di picture of Archie on the NAWT website, he looks so so forlorn, so pleased he's home safe & sound & whatever has happened to cause problems in a relationship or a breakdown dogs should not be used like chess pieces, I've been there & done that & got the t-shirt, our marriage broke down & we ended up sharing custody of our dog, even though he was a birthday present to me, we both loved him & I wouldn’t take him, he led a long & happy life being loved & spoilt by both families – bless you Archie xLast edited: 2013-08-15 15:02:04 by Paula Griffin's Mum

I was so, so, so, so, so happy to hear that Archie is home! Thank you Spangles for alerting me. Dogless, you are now Dogagain!
Di, you are truly, truly amazing! You are responsible for getting sweet, dear Archie back home to his loving Dad. It was no fluke that you search sites! And, this was truly meant to be. I am so grateful to you myself, as their plight really got to me. The cruel woman responsible for this heartless act did not plan for the might of the DogLost family, but now I bet she will never forget us! No one messes with our dogs! I would love to see HER face when she finds out :-) Dogagain, do stay on as a helper. If you go back in to where you registered and tick the box to receive alerts, you should be alerted when a dog goes missing form your area and you can post on here, help poster or simply support the owner. You have a bit of knowledge yourself now which they would appreciate. Or you can even just come on here from time to time and leave a post on any dog's page. Give Archie a big kiss from me too! X (and let us know if manage to do Dogtopia's toilet trick :-) ) Welcome home beautiful Archie boy! xxx
Di
I'm absolutely delighted this handsome boy is back with you, dogless ! You owe nothing ... if ever one of mine were " absent" for whatever reason, I'd be inconsolable ... that's why we all try to help wherever we can. It was actually a total fluke I looked there ( and NAWT don't update their site regularly, so it was just luck, plus Cath for putting herself out too).
Give that lovely lad a big sloppy kiss from me & my lot - would have loved to see his reaction when you turned up ! xx

Hi every one, What can I say, you girls and guys are something else!!!!
I am sure that MI5/FBI would benefit from your expertise.

I could not believe it this morning when Di phoned, as soon as I saw the photo I knew it was Archie. Thank God the staff at NAWT were sympathetic.

Thanks to you all and especially Di and Cath I owe you big time.

Archie is now at home with me and as well as being loved will certainly never be van arable again.

I in turn would like to volunteer in any way I can to help others in this situation. once again thanks to you all.

So pleased Archie is back home where he belongs. (To take him like that was such a spiteful, and callous thing to do) Welcome home Archie. Stay close now

Such fantastic news. Di, you found him and recognised him, I merely confirmed your thoughts on it being him. I've already offered my toilet flushing services to Archie's dad....just because.
I don't know what happened at the AWT but unless they were given Archie's chip paperwork surely they should of scanned him and called the chip company 'just in case'.
I hope they did everything the right way but there has to be a lesson here for all dogs that are given up and are chipped.
Di
This is Archie - he is home ! Thank-you Cath from Dogtopia for identifying him for me from the photo & for putting up with my whittering on !
Welcome home sweet Archie x
Jenny
Well spotted, this boy looks identical - same name - got to be him hasn't it?

Publicity is your best bet - Made him hot property - Can you get his photo in local paper? he is quite unusual in his markings also and idea of his size would be helpful.
I don't know how you can be so rational, but good that you are being controlled, you need to really think laterally about where he could have been taken and who with. Is his paperwork/microchip data etc still at house? or has that been taken? Are his toys/bed still there? Neighbours usually see comings and goings, you might get a clue about what time she left, and details about It (mine would be able to give full details!)
I wish so much that Archie is being well cared for and loved.
If MRS DOGLESS is reading this, if you think you were justified in your actions, tell someone your side of the story. Its Archie's happiness that counts now.
Spangles
dogless....the 8 hour time frame may have been set to throw you of the scent!!! she could have travelled 15 mins down the road, sat drinking coffee for 7 hours then returned...you say you had been on a night shift, so presumably he was taking during the night, no rescue centres are open 24 hours to take new pre arranged dogs in, so.....thinking logically as an outsider, she has most likely prearranged a new home for him, possibly with someone that knows him and was willing to take him on.....look closer to home, and if your estranged wife is reading this, whatever your troubles are differences are with your husband, Archie, like a child should not be the one to suffer, if dogless want's to keep him then for god sake work it out......and if it doesn't suit you to be a co owner, give him the chance to make arrangements so he can keep him.....hope for this babies sake he is found soon and that in the meantime he has been left with someone who is taking care of him
dogless
Sorry let me explain, I use the eight hour reference in the context of she probably traveled no more than 3 to 3.5 hours in either direction. Not much help but may rule out some locations.
She won't tell a thing about it and unfortunately now Archie is no longer a cute puppy and the reality of owning a dog no longer suits, I feel that she probably no longer cares as much as me.

I have today reported him missing on Petlog and have been phoning rescue centres , starting local and gradually expanding out. Thanks for contact numbers Dogtopia.

Thanks to you all for your help and good wishes.
Jenny
"Wife returned eight hours after without Alfie" And said what? Does she love him as much as you! Does she want something in exchange! Not sure we have a whole picture here but if wife is just out for revenge get your thinking cap on and try every avenue where this boy could be. Good Luck
dogless
Thank you all for your comments and advice, I'm following up on all the advice you are giving me.
Thanks!!
FLY
worth asking/watching her 'friends'/family they could be looking after him, was there someone who used to dogsit?/look after for holidays or another dog owner who walked with them? A relative some distance away?
try recent phonecalls on her phone or house phone good luck he's lovely.

In touch with owner. We are working on ways to go forward. Any other help appreciated. Please can we all share this. This may be a marital dispute but who would be so cruel as to take a beloved dog. If wife cares about Archie, she should do the right thing and work out a sharing plan - which can be done. For Archie's sake. Have tried to point owner in right direction. x

Excellent advice there from Dogtopia. Whilst this may appear a civil matter, if Archie is your dog and not hers, then this is in fact theft. Stealing is stealing no matter how you look at it. Hopefully, she will find her heart and do the right thing and return him to you. Poor Archie did not deserve this!
DogtopiaPetServices
Hello. Start with flushing your wifes head down the toilet until she tells you where Archie is (joke!!) if this fails try the following. They are rescues and kennels in our area....
Gemini 01268 725825
Acres way 01268 770402
Hectors Gate/Lee Housden 07764 766643
Bareham Kennels 01375 891421

Contact your microchip company and tell them that Archie has been stolen/taken from you without your consent. You may get a good response from the police also. If your wife has stolen him or given him away a visit from some police officers may jolt her memory.
As he was removed in the middle of the night I would suggest that a friend or relative is holding him. If she has signed him over to a rescue/kennel they can rehome home him very quickly. If you make sure your microchip company are aware of the circumstances then if he has been sold on/rehomed then when the new owner tries to change the chip details he will be flagged up as stolen.
I will share this on my Facebook pages too.
