Found dog 92950 might be worth a look, although no gender is given and it's described as a lab cross.
Clare Baker
Cheshire west and Chester council have put a pic of a dog like this on their Facebook page. Maybe worth a look :)

Just had a message back from the lady that saw the dog " I saw her about 11:15ish but when I got back at about 12:45 she was gone and haven't seen her since. I don't think she had a collar on. She definitely looked like a stray though." Having looked at Piper's page, she says "I'm not sure it's the same dog the dog I saw had much darker fur " Could still be a grubby Piper?
csquaredb
The Mead is a block of Flats/houses that are built near the play ground on Rushett Drive - it's between Rushett Drive and Glory Mead in Dorking.

Fingers crossed xxxx

Just picked this up from the Dorking selling pages "I saw a dog earlier on its own around goodwyns, dorking! It was a Labrador, maybe cross with a staff. Very skinny and looked like it had bad skin! I think it was female and had sandy coloured fur! Very hungry, she was trying to go through the bins outside the mead!! Ive just got home and she isn't there now so not sure if she's been picked up or not but just thought i'd let everyone know!!" Have asked her for more details on timings, collar etc and asked her to have a look at this page. If anyone's down that way, please keep your eyes open. Will update when I hear anymore.
csquaredb
More info from the lady that saw the dog: Dog was seen at 8:20 yesterday morning. Donna didn't manage to see whether or not it was wearing a collar or not - happened very fast. She turned back to try and find it, but it had gone. She also went back to have a look around later in the afternoon, but no sign. Could have been boy or girl. She's had a look at Piper's picture and says "this is kind of the one I saw defo the same colouring....but like I said it all happened so quick and took me by surprise that I cannot say of it was this exact dog...but yes if it's not its very similar.....the dog did look in good condition ie like its well looked after".
Nanna07
I have put this on Labrador forum and facebook pages, ourselves and several others walk up that way often. Please let us know if you get further information.
csquaredb
I know it's a long shot and post mentions a he, but just picked this up on one of the local selling pages: "Hi I have just seen a dog run straight across the great tattenhams lights in front of cars at burgh Heath heading towards the downs...he's on his own...he is a light colour dog and he looked like a lab but he was so quick so tell for definite please circulate this thank you!" If anyone's up that way, please keep an eye out

Any update Piper?

the dog you are suggesting that may be Piper has been returned to its owner - I have read the recent posts - it is difficult sometimes to see the most recent post when there is a lot of activity. she does look similar to Pipers photo - so wished it was her too. Piper is in my prayers for a safe outcome - please someone must know where she is and Pipers mum must be desperate to know.

Any links/possibilities welcome. Myself and MJ are still looking for Piper

Pc - highly likely that she would be advertised as a much loved family pet. It happened to someone locally - her dog went missing, then was stolen and advertised on Gumtree for £350. The lady had to buy her dog back (and is now a very active Dog Lost volunteer). Links would be great.
Shereen
yes please Pc if you could copy the links here, that would be brilliant thanks
Pc
Hi, I'm not sure if I'm barking up the wrong tree here but I flicked through the classified adds last night ( gumtree , preloved ect) and found a fare few adds for rehome ect ( for money) that I thought could possibly be piper? Is it at all likely that she was recovered on the basis of selling? I know some of the adds mention loving family pet ect however I am always suspicious ... Is this an area that your already keeping an eye on? Would you like me to find these adds and copy the links ? Also is that photo of Piper the most recent? As I am checking the photos for a slim yellow lab?
Jan S
As one of my dogs was very poorly dog I haven't done a really long walk from Chateley Heath for a while. We used to walk across the road bridge and right across to the river the other side of Wisley and walk along the tow path. Lots of boats going along there. Has much postering been done over that way, at Locks etc and is there a way of communicating with the general boating community that potter up and down that stretch, in case a boat picked her up ? Maybe we are concentrating too much on the Leatherhead area.
ClaireC
Also give your local Royal Mail Sorting Office a poster. Piper may be sighted by early posties out on their deliveries likewise milkmen (if they are still in existence) in your area. Local Florists are another good postering outlet for when they are out and about. What about a local Radio Station maybe they could put out a request for a missing dog to their listeners. Ask friends/family to display a poster of Piper in their car. You would be surprised how many people are drawn to a poster in a car. Hope these suggestions are of use and apologise if they have already been done. Good luck xx
PaulaK
Ive spoken to Lab Rescue about Pc's post earlier - not Piper sadly
Nanna07
The cycle race is coming through the area on Saturday, lots of people about. Also Paws in the Park is in Kent this weekend people coming from all over the area.
MJ
It would be interesting (and essential) to know what Piper's dog walker is doing so that we do not duplicate.
MJ
Lisa. Entry below yours (11/9) regarding the gumtree add. It was a boy and Piper's owner had already contacted the lady. Welcome back Paula! What next? newspaper coverage? Door to door fliers locally to where she disappeared?

Ive left a message with Lab Retriever rescue re the dog you mentioned below Pc - thanks

There is a Yellow Labrador listed on the lost & found pages of Gumtree. Although it says found sitting in rain in Woodingdean area of Brighton it maybe worth a phone call! No photo & doesn't say if male or female. Just to telephone : 07961826730. I've tried ringing the number but no answer at the moment. Will keep ringing until I can get some more details as there are a few missing yellow labs on here. Fingers crossed xx
Nanna07
Been over to Ripley today and did a long drive round both ways on country roads, just in case.
Did notice that Cobham have a heritage day on 14th lots of things going on so would be a good place to hand out flyers, sorry that I can't do it.
Jan S
Thanks for that ! Been really struggling to think of the name, couldn't find it on the internet either, but that's probably me !
Wondering if notifying as many schools (in relevant areas) as possible is a good next move ? It would seem most likely now that you are looking for a family that have taken her in. It is always said that children notice dogs more than adults do. Don't expect that applies to any of us !
csquaredb
The school Jan mentioned is called Parkside: 01932 862749
Jan S
Trying to think what the school opposite the garden centre is called ?
Have they been asked to keep a look out. Hopefully their pupils come from a wide area around there.Last edited: 2013-09-12 08:28:18 by Jan S

I put a poster at the gate of the Squires garden center there. It was still there on Sunday

Travellers site: River Lane, Leatherhead, Surrey, KT22 0AY
Jan S
When you come down Oaklawn Road from Oxshott you turn left towards Randalls cemetery, there is a small foot ball training ground on the right and between that and the cemetery there is a travellers site. It isn't a very large site but worth letting them know. There is a community dump along there as well. If you turn right at the end of Oaklawn Road you'd be going towards Stoke d'abernon, The Woodlands Hotel ?, Q.E, Foundation, I believe somebody has notified them and the garden centre near there. What about the big school opposite the garden centre ? Name escapes me and then the Chelsea training ground ?
Piper
If Piper has been taken in by someone, and they happen to read this, Piper is due for her annual booster & Kennel cough injections. (she was booked in to have them done the Monday after she went missing.
I did contact most of the places people have suggested, of course they are not always available when I am free... and I don't know where the traveller's site is, I was looking out for them when looking for P. but didn't see any, can you tell me where to find them.
MJ
Dog found was a boy and has been reunited. Lucky him!
MJ
Just texted Piper's owner. Ad posted yesterday in Gumtree: found yellow lab sitting in rain in Woodingdean (near Brigthon). Gave the number for her to call.Never know.Fingers X! Last year, a well intentioned man picked up a stray dog in Twickenham and took him away for the week-end to Devon, with his dogs. The owners were looking for him where he got lost and were frantic as he needed medication. The guy came back to the area after the week-end and saw the posters, with the mention "need epileptic tablets every day" and realised that he should not have taken the dog away from the area he found him in. What if he had lost the dog during the week-end, in Devon...let's not think of the consequences....You never know, the same might have happened to Piper....?Last edited: 2013-09-11 08:15:10 by MJ

Lucy, did you have any joy with Zen George? Would also be worth telling Dorincourt on Oaklawn Rd and also the Queen Elizabeth Foundation which have extensive grounds on the Leatherhead to Stoke D'Abernon Rd, which would join up with the woods where the sighting was. Have driven round the area several times over the last week, but no sightings I'm afraid. Pachesham Agility are back training this week after the summer break, so I'll reshare to remind everyone to keep an eye out.

We have left posters all along that road, but was a the day after the sighting. Might it be worth doing again? It isn't a walking road so just the business' so not worth posters going up.
Jan S
Have you spoken to the staff at Widlife Aid, Randalls cemetery, the council rubbish dump and the travellers site near Randalls ?
Still hoping for good news. Walked at Oxshott with my dogs today, saw your posters.
Carol
Is the dog warden aware in that area ? Xxxx
Piper
Where she showed me was just off the A244.
If you go into Oaklawn Road from the roundabout on Oxshott Road, you can draw in on a rough/earth parking place on the left. The dog was seen going into the wood on the right, i.e. well before you get to Tyrwhitt House. So N/E towards Oxshott according to my map ( actually, M J's map, thank you so much for it)
One of the many things I am struggling with here is that she was not lost from home, I have been learning fast about the Cobham area but still do not truly know my way about. So, sorry, Princes Covert not on the map that I can see, so I can't tell if it is where you are looking.
Tyrwhitt House, Leatherhead Golf Club & Pachesham Golf Club all promised to look out for her, I also called stables & vets in that area.
PaulaK
Dont know mike but we believe heading towards princes coverts direction
mike_p
Can someone please give a better description of where the possible sighting took place?
As far as I can tell the road was the A244 heading NW toward Oxshott.
In which direction was the dog crossing the road: toward NE or SW?
If heading NW, there is a huge area of woodland called Prince's Covert. (http://www.clarendonpark.co.uk/princes_coverts.html) It is actually open to the public. In theory you're supposed to make a small one-off payment for a key but access is very easy anyway.
The north end of Princes Covert is up near Chessington, so searching that far may be sensible.Last edited: 2013-09-09 18:13:57 by mike_p
pixies peeps
Has anyone put Piper on the local Guardian facebook page at all.https://www.facebook.com/yourlocalguardian
Piper
The person who sighted her was two cars behind where the dog crossed. All 3 cars slowed to let the dog over, she said it was going quite slowly as if confident, or as if it had sore paws. The other two cars went on, she went back round the roundabout and parked where she had seen the dog go into the woods, but couldn't follow as there is a fence, & it is a private wood. She never saw well enough to say whether it was wearing a collar or a muzzle, so all we know is that it was a yellow Lab. I agree that someone must have taken her in, and thinks she was badly treated, not realising what a vital part of our family she is & what misery losing her has caused.
MJ
Carol can you de-pink me or is this not possible? I am trying to remember what I wrote: the posters at Ockham common are still in place - I didn't see any press coverage although I live in the area - may be next step in more press coverage and door to door. The lady who saw her did not mention or was not asked about the muzzle but she said if I remember well that the dog was walking slowly across the road, or as if had painful paws...A door to door and press coverage would reach anyone, even without a computer????Dogs can remove a muzzle if not too tight around the neck, but it might be hanging around neck. At least they can eat....
Carol
Does anyone know if the person that sighted her so clearly identify whether she was muzzled or not xxxx
Carol
Pilots mum and nanna07 I agree a lab always comes up to you and yes I also wondered about the sighting was she wearing a muzzle, if she wasn't then she either got it off somehow or the sighting wasn't her , I can't stop thinking about her and wished I lived nearer , poor owners I really feel for them , lets keep everything crossed that the finder will give her back ( if there is one ) xxx
Nanna07
Do we know if the person with the possible sighting spotted a muzzle?
How likely is that she could have removed it herself?
It does feel like somebody must have her.
Nanna07

Pilot's mum
I agree with Carol - it is very strange that, in a fairly populated area with lots of walkers, joggers etc ,there has not been a confirmed sighting.
Most labs will run up to people especially if they are hungry.
Carol
Someone must have taken her in surely , she can't eat being muzzled , my theory is someone has her and won't let her go as probably thinks owner muzzled her , this person probably hasn't a computer and can't see that the owner did NOT muzzle her ,just a thought ;-/ so if u do have piper and have a computer and can read this PLEASE give her back xxxxxx sorry MJ I pinked u by mistake xxxLast edited: 2013-09-08 11:26:19 by Carol

Yes very good idea JB!!! We need to keep the momentum! I walked on Ockham Common yesterday. All posters are in a good shape which is great. We need to make sure that they stay in place and are clear, or replace them. May be more local newspaper coverage is needed. I saw nothing in the local papers I get in. and some door-to- door leafleting perhaps????
Carol
Good idea JB xxx
Tiga
Are you getting any help from the dog walker that lost Piper? Maybe he could walk his dogs in different areas, perhaps with all those dogs off lead they might come across her in the undergrowth, especially if any of them recognise her scent.
csquaredb
Heard from a friend today that Zen George has kindly agreed to run Fern's story in the Ashtead & Leatherhead Local magazine, which gets distributed all round the area. Would be worth giving her a ring to see if she could also include Piper's details. Believe her print deadline is 12th September, so you would need to contact her asap. Her details are: Zen George, leatherheadlocal@btinternet.com, The Ashtead & Leatherhead Local, 01372 376420, www.ashtead-leatherhead.com

Still looking every day on Ashtead Common, but sadly no joy.

Piper
I put Piper into the local (Cobham) paper c.10 days ago, but I will certainly try the others you suggest, and the race too. I did google Surrey Running Clubs, but didn't find any that were near the area, it would help if I were better with a computer! Thanks as ever for everyone's help & suggestions, it has been a great support.
MacIntosh
Keep hoping Piper will be found soon. Is this link any use to try get editorial postedas they ran story on stolen pups ... http://www.thisissurreytoday.co.uk/
There is a race on 22/09 on Ashstead common http://www.trionium.com/ashtead10k/

Can only think of Leatherhead advertiser although i expect it is too late for this week as it comes out tomorrow.

I know they have had messages about lost dogs before.
MJ
It is also free in Esher/Walton/Hersham.Piper's owner, could you organise it? We get the Herald now but others get the Guardian.Any others around?
Jan S
Can you get some coverage in the local newspapers ? The Guardian is given away free in Epsom and Leatherhead, there must be a local paper for Cobham as well.
Nanna07
Can't believe there has been no news.
We dropped posters at the estate office and local vets as well as talking to other owners walking on Ashtead Common.
Come on Piper, show yourself. Please.
Nanna07
We walked Ashtead Common early this morning(and yesterday) and passed on the info to all we met. Shall be out there again tomorrow evening but I can probably get a poster down to the ranger office if needed.
MJ
Walked on Ashtead common this pm and spread the word. Might be worth contacting the rangers there...just in case....?
Tiga
When I was tracking with Tiga there was a yellow helicopter with ELECRICITY in huge letters on the sides and it was flying very very low, it might be worth contacting them to see how often they fly around the area. It seemed to be following the electicity pilons and was as low as they were so would be easy to spot Piper.
csquaredb
Have been walking up round the woods near where the possible sighting was, but no joy this morning I'm afraid.
sallybee
How about sending the details to Surrey Hills Gliding Club over at Kenley - possibly someone in a glider might just spot her from the air? A yellow lab could be easy to spot if running across a green field somewhere. Oh I am racking my brains trying to think of ways to help being so far away from the area, but I will keep thinking, keep praying for a safe return, and will keep checking for news on here. Come on Piper - where are you hiding lass!
PaulaK
Everyone trying so hard its great. She is from Clapham Fiona
csquaredb
Have posted on Pachesham Agility page and all the selling pages local to Ashtead and Leatherhead I can think of. If it was her, she could easily make her way on Ashtead Common and then on to Epsom. Would be worth alerting City of London Corporation who look after the Commons. Keeping everything crossed xx
FionaTurton
If she is trying to make her way home .. where in London should we ask around ... ??
Nanna07
Piper they should all have had that yesterday but no harm in making sure.
FionaTurton
Try SWT Run Club as they are based v close and have regular run events over Ockham Common
MJ
Great stuff Piper's owner! I have driven around the area of the possible sighting and added posters at Squires garden center outside of Stoke d'Ab, also just before Tyrwhitt House and then at Oxshott heath car park. Not easy to park anywhere there
Piper
I have just called Leatherhead Golf Club, Pachesham Golf Club & Lower Farm Livery Stable, giving them Piper's (& my)details. Left messages at Dane's Hill school, and Tyrwhitt House. Local vets are all on emergency calls only, so I'll do them on Monday, along with Queen Elizabeth's Training College. I googled local running clubs, but none seem to be very near. Ever hopeful...

I am looking for running clubs with Facebook pages so that they can share the page and the info more easily. So far I have managed to send a message to the Surrey Running and Athletics Club and the Surrey Adventure Running Club. I will carry on making contact. 31 other local contacts so far via Facebook. My wish for today is for a family to get back from holiday and find Piper sunning herself in their garden. I don't ask for much!

Mmm Unfortunately I don't know the clubs around there as I live in Haywards Heath in Sussex .. but there is list I`m sure if you Google Running Clubs in Surrey ..
Tiga
Good advice Fiona, I am also a runner and am always telling owners to contact running clubs, cycling clubs and ramblers etc as they are out covering a fair distance every day, whatever the weather. When I was tracking with Tiga we did stop a number of runners and cyclists and they did take a contact. Which is the local club to this area Fiona?
Nanna07
Been out for a good drive around but no sightings. Posters left at golf club, runtolive and local pet shop as well as several nearby buildings/business'.
MJ
Great feedback from everyone! Thank you Bonnie dogs. Great idea re running clubs Fiona! Will follow up.
FionaTurton
I am following Pipers post and keep hoping all the time she will be found safe and sound . I am a runner and we often come across dogs when doing our Sunday long runs . Most distance ( marathon and half marathon runners ) expect to run a good 15 -25 miles each Sunday with somewhat shorter runs during the week and we often run Coss Country . Its really worth contacting all your lical running clubs to tell rhem you are looking for Piper as they may well catch sight if her ...

The sighting was last night around 5pm - there is a small roundabout at the end of Oxshott Road (near Pachesham) - the sighted dog crossed the road there and went into woodland.
Nanna07
We don't know the area at all well to walk in but we are close and have been driving past there over to where she was lost originally. We will walk there tomorrow and Saturday if you want posters going up let us know, and as an exact a location as possible. Please let this be her.
Jan S
If you can confirm the area later this evening I will certainly walk there with my dogs tomorrow, only wish I could get there this evening.
I'm imagining this is going towards the Yeheudi Menuhin School ? Suppose they are still on holiday. I do hope this is going to be the lead that brings her home to you.
DogLostAngus
bumped for the sighting - lets hope that it is Piper and that owners can find her in this new area
Piper
Someone near Oxshot saw a Labrador last night, it crossed the road in front of her and went into the woods towards Bookham. She lives in Stoke D'Abernon and can show me exactly where sometime after 5pm this evening, does anyone know the area?
MJ
Although not posting, I am still actively searching and spreading the word. I have driven all over the area around Cobham and Ockham and Silvermere yesterday. Refreshed people's memory. Checked posters are still in place. We need a sighting, a clue, a sign.... anything will do!!!

Hope Piper is found soon x I'm following her and praying that she will be in the blue soon. can understand anger towards the dog walker, a stupid thing to do but how would they know this would happen. Hope Piper is found safe and sound

Good evening, I am the finder of dog 56628 and she is definitely a chocolate labrador. Thank you for checking out the colour of the dog I found, as mistakes can easily be made. I wish you luck in your search for Piper.
sue
Saw 56628 in found and wonder if its the same dog ? Same area although its described as chocolate, have they got that wrong ? Same area , told owner to have a look
PaulaK
Have been searching other side of the A3 this morning with mj. Will try and get back later today again

Watching this story with interest and wish I could help.
Lots of dogs are quite scared and go to ground.
Others work to find their way home.
I have to say I have read that the dog walker has lost one other dog before this.
How true it is I do not know.
Bit scary to read this.
Good luck to Piper's owner, thinking of you and your family at a very difficult time.
Pat

Not fair to blame dog walker, dogs get lost everyday as we all know by walkers and owners alike. I'm sure they feel terrible.
Have shared on FB and twitter and researched report here at BDCH but no news so far.
Piper
I didn't mean to tar all dog walkers with the same brush, I just hoped that, if someone has found Piper and thinks that we are cruel owners, they might read my posting and hand her in. I know at least one good dog walker in the Cobham area! (and ours has been putting up posters in Woking apparently)
PaulaK
The dog walker that lost Piper is irresponsible we know that but not all dog walkers are the same. I happen to know one who is very responsible and who spends alot of her time searching for dogs lost in our area. Please dont assume that all dog walkers are the same
MJ
Back from a 2 hours walk/drive. A few posters now in Cobham and around. Waitrose did not want to display a poster. I ran out of posters so didn't put one at Sainsb....
MJ
I will go back and walk in the area today. I will put posters up around the shops in Cobham, main street, Waitrose, Sainsbury's if this has not already been done.I keep on driving that way after the walks and have not seen any.....
PaulaK
Went for an early mooch around this morning as busy for the rest of the day - please keep sharing Pipers details with friends and family et - you can click on the FB Post button at the top of this page to share on your Facebook page if you have one

so sorry to hear dear Piper is still missing. I was at The Shell garage at Burnt Common on A3 yesterday. Spoke to a nice lady who rides regularly over Ockham common. She will tell others at her yard in Ockham and also people she knows at another yard. She said lots of people ride there someone must surely spot her soon! Have suggested an animal communicator (psychic) to Lucy. My neice has had good results with her in the past, she helped with her horse and one of her dogs. Susanna(Cobham)

At least the rain has stopped the "regular" visitors to the carpark!

Ockham Cricket Club have a friendly match on tomorrow so plenty of locals - could be worth popping over with some leaflets and ask around?
PaulaK
Walked round with mj again this morning, went from ockham bites cafe round back crossed roundabout of A3 and M25 which is where tiga followed scent i believe and quite deep into chatley woods. found the patch the bmx bikers use, sime areas to shelter there. No signs of Piper though
sallybee
Have shared on FB and spread the word will all my dog world friends and asked them to spread the news - quick. I can't imagaine how distraught you all must be but lets see if we can help re-unite you with your gorgeous girl. Good luck xx
Tiga
I suggest that the posters indicate that she was muzzled by the dog walker because of scavenging while on walks and not because she is dangerous. The owner was unaware that she was being muzzled.
BigGSDPatlucky
I do not live near or I would be helping search.
I feel for you and your family this must be a terrible time.
Any dog that is lost is terrible, but as a Labrador owner it seems worse.
They are such friendly dogs.
Some people might not catch her , as with having a muzzle they may be scared to.
Hope she is found soon, my thoughts are with you.
Pat
Piper
I wonder that too, Carol. Also that they might think that we do not deserve Piper because she was muzzled, when it was not us who muzzled her. So if they read this, she is a dearly loved member of our family, even my disabled 87-year-old mother has come down to help find her! and I promise never to use a dog-walker again. I cannot afford to come down as often as I was, so many thanks to all who are continuing the search, I will still come whenever I can manage it, or the moment there is news.
Carol
Wonder if someone has taken piper in and is kindly looking after her and hasn't got a computer etc would be possible as no sightings of her, just a thought xxxxxLast edited: 2013-08-24 10:29:26 by Carol

MJ just a thought but is there a local Farmwatch group in the area and also Horsewatch would be good to let them know about Piper if not already done so. Really hoping for some good news soon. Julie x
MJ
Yes back for more tomorrow.I have asked Lucy to contact the local police and ask for possible reports of dogs "worrying" livestock. A local land owner told me that this was the process if a farmer or land owner saw a dog "worry" their sheep or other livestock. They would obviously not contact DogLost as their interest would be more towards their livestock.Something to keep in mind for future reference perhaps?
PaulaK
Just back from meeting MJ over there - now have a set of binoculars for checking things out at a distance. No news though Im afraid. Meeting again over there in the morning when its quiet to walk full lap

Really feel for you.........hope you find her soon xx

I gave a poster in to the Black Swan y'day, and we did the Plough last Friday. Thank you so much to JB & Tiga, an exhausting day, but fruitful. I'll be back between the Car Park and Semaphore Tower today, thank you everyone for your support.

I will also go back there today for a last walk. I just sent a complaint to Surrey Police re the men on the Common. It was horrendous yesterday in broad daylight. It does restrict where we walk and search. It is unacceptable.
PaulaK
Huge thanks JB and Tiga, we have more clues now. Glad you came yesterday as it has rained heavily here overnight and im sure that would not have helped. Angels poster and Pipers are up in that cafe Bullt, we commented on it on the weekend, the staff there are always very helpful. I will print a pile of posters this morning and hope to get back over there after work today. I know Lucy appreciates everyones help. I have contacted friends who ride horses over there too asking everyone to look out for her. A week today since she went missing :( Show yourself girlie xx

Has anyone put up a poster at the little cafe by the parking area just off the A3 ? The lady was very helpful & pro dog when I called in there about 6 weeks ago - she took some of the Missing GSP Angel and was going to put one up there (hope she did !) and n a couple of places locally. Good luck, x
Lisa Baker
The Black Swan & The Plough are the local pubs & both are very supportive if anyone can get posters to them? I'm tied up for the next two days although hubby will be back out with our 5 Goldens everyday! Am posting on the Medicine Gardens FB page & the East Horsley page to raise awareness as well Ockham common is not particularly pleasant after dark - not dangerous though! Have friends that live in Plough lane so will make them aware too. If there is anything else I can do to help, please let me know as I live in Cobham, used to live in East Horsley/Ockham & know the area well x
Tiga
Just got home with a very very tired Tiga. Tiga tracked from Painters Road towards and across the M25/A3 junction (!!!) into Ockham Common. From here we went up to the Semaphore Tower and then onto Ockham Manor where he lost it a bit after we spoke to people in that area. We went back into the common back to the Tower and then over the bridge on the M25 and back to Painters Road We then headed towards some houses where they were very helpful. Thanks to Charlie who escorted us across some fields to the river but the sides of the banks were too steep and Tiga was not interested. After another loop round that area we drove to the café and headed from the café back to the Towere to see what Tiga could pick up from there. By now he was very tired and we called it a day after stumbling across too many 'doggers'. By the time we got back to the car park we felt very uneasy and decided to leave sooner than later. As we left the Tower Tiga seemed to want to go behind the Tower again. I suggest anyone able to put posters up needs to put them up in this area - there are some up but I think more need to be put up within the common on the footpath signs. The pub needs to be visited as there were lots of customers in the garden at 4.30ish - so I guess a good food source after hours. If anyone wants to help in any way please feel free to go to the common and walk your dogs. Come on Piper we are trying hard to help you.
MJ
Dropped a poster at Cobham Court Farm, a large farm by the side of Painshill Park and Chatley Wood. The lady there will inform other farm workers. She also thinks that the river is quite an obstacle and not easy to cross. Then walked on Ockham Common. The smell of cooked bacon, on the car park, coming from the cafe, is quite strong...:-)))

everything crossed that she shows herself very soon. Will continue to share xx

So sorry that today didn't bring any results for you. Have you tried leaving out a piece of clothing, an old jumper or similar, that has your scent on it, in the area close to where she was last seen, in the hope she might come to it if she is hiding. Hoping tomorrow is the day.

Piper's owner (Lucy) again: just back from another day in Cobham, everyone has been so kind, I have searched far & wide, and put up more posters, fly-leafed a lot of cars. Not sure what to do next, except haunt Ockham/Wisley Commons.

Went to the bottom of Plough Lane this morning onto the land where Piper went missing. Searched, whistled and called but no joy this time. This afternoon we went to the field and meadows near plough pub along by river. Took our retriever in the hope she might help. No luck today but will keep looking. My heart goes out to you, what a worry!

MJ
Just back from a few hours of walking, driving, distributing leaflets. Areas covered: Downside Common, Bookham Road which goes under the M25 and ends into Bookham Common. Talked to farm and yard workers there. Then back to Chatley Wood where she ran off. Met lovely couple with golden retriever who had had a leaflet through their front door and joined the search. Very nice of them. Then walked with 2 colleagues across the fields from Cobham to Pointers Road. The river is quite an obstacle and I wonder if Piper would have crossed it. There are also swans around there.Going to email nursing home around Cobham (they probably have large bins!:-))) ) and farms around Cobham.

I'm too far away to help but sharing on my dog groups on facebook. I hope she is found very soon x

I am Piper's owner, THANK YOU to everyone who is helping.
We made A4 "Missing" signs, which you should see around Pointers Road, and we put small versions through letter boxes and on car windscreens. I will be back in the area tomorrow placing more, but thanks for your offer.
She is typical Labrador when it comes to food, will deftly steal a sandwich from your hand, and adores rolling in fox poo etc.
Safedog Crash Tested Car CratesBaggy Dog
I’ve found that it helps to print out an A4 sheet of paper cut into business-card size slips, each with brief details and your phone number on. Give them to all the local dog walkers, postmen etc. you meet. Then if someone has news when they’re out and about they don’t need to find a poster or log on to the site to contact you. If you'd like me to make up an A4 sheet of these to send you then just let me have email address. Good luck, hoping she's home very soon. Great that she's microchipped.
DogLostAngus
We have been studying google earth this morning - I fanyone can get some posters up at Downside Common & near to Cobham football club - this would be useful as these would be the first areas with housing that Piper would come across if searching for food - she will be very hungry by now being a lab and if still muzzled she will not be able to catch any food - if you are searching please have smelly food with you to try to entice her in
PaulaK

There are people out looking for Piper now - It appears that she is lost in an unfamiliar area as she was being walked by dog walker at the time she went missing - If anyone is local and can help please call owners and advise where and when you can walk - - please carry a slip lead and water bottle smelly treats - she is not aggressive but being a lab likes to eat rubbish on walks hence the muzzle - the area is of concern to me as it is sandwiched between the M25 & A3 - If you see her please do not chase but offer food from a non threatening height and try to contain safely
