I had the unfortunate experience of witnessing a dog get hit by a van this morning.

This was on the Plumstead Road East in Norwich, between the junctions of Dussindale Drive and Green Lane at 8.30am. Two dogs came bolting out of a field and into the road, but while one made it safely to the other side, (though disappeared), the other wasn’t so lucky and was clipped by the van, somersaulting back to the roadside. He wasn’t dead, and managed to pick himself up and limp away. No owners were present though, so I don’t know if the two dogs had escaped from somewhere.

Sadly, although it hadn’t been his fault, the van driver didn’t stop, as did no one else. I did briefly, but couldn’t find the dog, and although I notified the police, who promised they would contact the dog warden
