- Fantastic news, so glad he's safe and back at home where he belongs. Thank goodness the lady called you. I'll let my contacts know they can stop looking. Take care, Elaine xx

- We also own a Welsh Terrier and know what you have been going through, but ours was missing for a much shorter time, in Ashridge. So, so glad you have been happily reunited.

- We've just found him!!! Someone who lives in Longfield drive saw him walking along the railway embankment at the end of her garden. She called us and we caught him at the railway crossing at the bottom of Hervines Park!!
Thank you so much to everyone who helped - in particular Kay and Elaine: thank you! - 2013-08-26 10:28 Kay
- Walked through the woods to Hyde Heath, walked round the village, then back through woods another way. Met cyclist and dog walkers, all aware of Lester and looking out for him, so those woods will be well covered. I'll pop down to Hervines Park a few times - as so many dogs run loose there, people may not realise he's lost if he turns up there, so I'll keep checking.

Those woods towards Hyde Heath are familiar to Lester so that's a good area to cover. I'll go out towards Little Chalfont now - thanks for your help and advice. - 2013-08-26 07:17 Owen

- Hi Sandy, From Stanley Hill Cemetery, up to White Lion Road and along to Finch Lane, there are fields and woods. There used to be a footpath - not sure if it's still there, but if he's doing an anti-clockwise circuit, he could be along there. There's a Chinese Takeaway along White Lion Road at the top of the fields - smells from there could attract him.
The fields around Hervines extend over to Hyde Heath. I just stayed around Hervines yesterday, then crossed the railway line, down to School Lane and Tescos etc, so I could do the woods between Copperkins and Hyde Heath this morning, if you'd like to try around the cemetery. As he's a friendly dog, he may be hanging around residential areas, particularly if he can smell cooking, so worth driving the streets first thing as well.
I'll cook some sausages now, and then get over to the woods.
Good luck. - 2013-08-25 21:52 kitty
- Hi Owen/Sandy, we met earlier today on the edge of rectory woods. Just to let you know I've passed Lesters details onto my clients and friends with dogs and have also requested the poster goes up in Seasons. Hope you have some good news soon. We will keep looking. Anything I can help with please let me know. Elaine

- Thanks Kay, we really appreciate your help. I am Sandy, Owen's Mum. The walk you did today was the one I had done when I lost him. We had walked from Chesham Bois Common, down to Copperkins Lane and to Hervines Park, over the railway to Old Amersham, past Barn Meadow, up rectory Hill etc Normally we would continue to Long Field Drive and back to Hervines. So it is possible that he could have retraced his steps and Hervines is very familiar territory for him. We heard that he was seen across Rectory Hill running in a field next to the Scout Hut at about midday Saturday but nothing after that. He is very independent and likes to run away but has never been away overnight. I walked through the woods beyond the rugby field today and spent a lot of time around Station Road, First Ave etc When you say Hyde Heath Woods, do you mean those woods beyond the rugby fields? OR further to Hyde Heath? That sounds like a good idea. Also the fields from Little Chalfont to Amersham Valley - I don't know these. Can you get to them from Station Rd public footpaths? We could do one and you the other if that's ok for you?

- Hi Owen, I'm in Bois Ave, not far from you. I did Hervines Park woods, down to the old town, back up through the Station Rd/Rectory Hill woods, then back home through Chesham Bois woods and common. I see you've been around the same area as I saw your posters. I met a couple of your friends out with their dog, and they'll be keeping an eye on that wood. Lester might be doing an anti-clockwise triangle - some lost dogs do. Your friends thought he might have headed to the old town - did you see him heading that way or could he have gone towards Hervines Park/Hyde Heath? I'm happy to go out again tomorrow morning to look for Lester, I might try Hyde Heath woods and the fields from Little Chalfont down to the Amersham valley, unless you'd like me to try anywhere else. Just let me know.

- Thank you very much Kay! Smelly food is also a very good idea, thanks again

- Hi Owen, I'm in the area and will go out this evening to look for Lester. He'll be attracted to food smells, so cook with windows open and check around restaurants, Tesco etc. Carry smelly food when you're out searching.
Good luck, hope Lester's soon back home. x - 2013-08-25 14:51 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
