Good morning! What a beautiful day!!

We are so much enjoying every ones good wishes! Thank God we are in a position to say that our wonderful little POPPY IS HOME.

We have been following a couple of leads for a few days, but continuing to look for Poppy in case we were following dead ends, we were about to travel to Northern Ireland as we’d seen one advertised that looked just like Poppy, but were also following a lead we’d been given from a newly acquired facebook friend. We were given a number by a lady who had advertised a wanted ad on preloved looking for a Yorkshire Terrier, someone responded to her advert this week and left her a voicemail offering her a dog, she told me about this and I asked her to text him for a picture, he replied saying “dogs been stolen” TOO WEIRD! (by this stage he'd probably seen my appeal on preloved but we don't think he's seen facebook) We then put up the reward in the hope this would tempt him or a neighbour to come forward. I phoned him on Thursday evening and said “I’ve heard you have a yorkie for sale” he hesitated, then replied “not me love”…. Talk about smell a rat!!!

My amazing new friend xxxxx at xxxxxx has done some incredible detective work and tracked down an address for the person wanting to sell the yorkie- the Police weren’t particularly interested. So, last night xxxxx and I headed to the address in Huyton and knocked on the door of the man who we suspected had stolen Poppy. CRAZY WOMEN!! He didn’t come to the door- instsead he opened the window, (we'd caught him on the hop, late on a Friday night) xxxx told him we'd had a tip off and asked did he have a yorkie- he said he did and we asked to see it, he opened the door and shouted up the stairs, “dog, come on dog” I called “come on” and as fast as lightning Poppy was down the stairs and in my arms licking my face!! I was away! He made some half hearted attempt at saying that he had bought the dog 2 days ago and “what about my money” xxxxx told him to “get lost” we got in the car and drove away!

It’s totally surreal!

Lois is over the moon! Poppy ate beautiful marks and spencers chicken last night!! She is a frightened little dog who has most certainly had her spirit knocked out of her. She is very jumpy, and sore in places, has bulging eyes and looks terrified, but we’re seeing little bits of her old character already and we will treasure her back to happiness!!

Everybody on here has contributed to Poppys safe return, from practical advice to spiritual and emotional, you have been a fantastic support to us and restore faith in this tough world we are living in.

You can see from the picture last night, we did head to the police station and they will take it from here- ….xxx

I've made contact with Poppy's owner and will update the page and work on a group photo. Her story has gone in the Ormskirk Advertiser and is on the front page. I've had a quick look for an online link but up to now have not found it.

I'll update the page and photo/s a.s.a.p. and start sharing the details. Family are doing a great job already and the word is spreading. They are offering a substantial reward.
