Her owners are ecstatic and want to thank everyone who helped.

Yay! Im so tired but so happy. She did her usual run along the road under Dinting Arches, people were spotting her along the route and then she got into the cricket club which is fenced and so she had to stop, her owners split up and caught her. Cassie is clearly part greyhound. Ive just got to take down the posters now. A wonderful community effort from local people, Cassie's page on facebook has 432 comments so far! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201743275444129&set=gm.10151582261782816&type=1&theater

have advised to keep Cassie indoors as much as possible for the next couple of days, feed little and often and bathe her feet.Last edited: 2013-09-01 14:58:29 by glossoplass

Great, maybe she fancied a bit of fielding, or the sandwiches at tea time? x
Gillian
Brilliant news,Cassie has been found safe at a local cricket club :o)

Lots of people looking out for Cassie. Please, please do NOT chase her. Good luck Kaz with the scenting. x

Plenty of sightings but she wont stop running. Lots of people out looking for her too, but she is so fast, she is running in a huge triangle on dangerous roads, so it is imperative she is caught soon. Hopefully, Kaz will be scenting today, plus a couple of food stations. She has got to be exhausted. I and Ben my collie were out over 5 hours yesterday. Please could you bump due to sightings. Thanks.
Gillian
Thanks for asking the owner to do that. I've tried to suggest it on the FB page but without much success. Poor dog has been running for hours often with more than one person following plus a scooter at one point! She must be exhausted. Hope tomorrow brings better news. I'll try and get over myself at some point if I can.

I walked along Dinting, had a look in the school field, church grounds, cricket pitch and other areas with no sign unfortunately. Ive shared on Twitter and asked the local taxi drivers to keep an eye out.I will go out again tomorrow. I've advised owner to stop people chasing Cassie has this just has her running scared. Hopefully tomorrow will bring good news.Last edited: 2013-08-30 21:58:03 by glossoplass

yes The Plough used to be a pub under Dinting Arches. Its flats now. Sounds like she's trying to get home.

She's running so fast! She was in Simmondley earlier, then tea time was seen running along the A57 outside Glossop caravans, then she went back up to Gamesley and 25 minutes ago was seen near the Plough - not sure where that is but could be Dinting? Seems she hasn't stopped running for ages - so scared :(
glossoplass
Gillian can you tell me where she was last sighted? I will walk my dog there.
Gillian
She's been spotted loads of times today and people have been trying to catch her but she's scared and running off. She's also on quite busy roads which is a worry.
Goldenfrodo
Fingers crossed that Cassie will recognise her owner and allow herself to be caught. Good luck x
Gillian
Cassie has been seen twice this morning, near the Hare and Hounds in Simmondley and also walking down Simmondley Green towards Green Lane. Owner tried to catch her but she ran away from her.
glossoplass
I'm hearing from FB and Twitter that a similar dog to Cassie has been seen over the past day, in Charlesworth, which is just up the road from Gamesley. Someone tried to entice the dog but it ran off and it has also been seen eating from bins.I have left a message on the number listed.
