Just had a phone call from the dog warden with the brilliant news that this boy has been caught.
He has some injuries from running into fences, but overall he seems to be ok.
his owner is on his way to collect him.
Just to say thank you so much to everyone locally who has pulled together reporting sightings, searching and setting up food stations to try to catch him- you have all been brilliant!!!

Text message from co ordinator minigirls as follows .........
' More sightings this morning in Castle Ings Gardens. Dog warden aware and attending '
Please proceed with caution if you see this dog and try not to spook him as there is such a danger with traffic. X

Spotted just over an hour ago running down Kent Road & Acres Hall area of Pudsey, LS28. Tried to coax it & tried to cut it off in my van but was really scared & ran off down to Valley Road where I lost him. Girl said she thought she knew who it was & showed me where it might live, but wasn't that one. Had quite a big gash on his left side like he'd done it on a fence. Didn't look as though been in a fight or been hit by car.

There is a fawn lurcher on here called Rocket that was stolen and the van involved was from Leeds. ID is:53430. Might be worth calling the name see if theres any response when he's next spotted.

Yesterday he returned to the same garden twice and had some food so we are planning on setting up a feeding station there in the hope that he will return and we can keep tabs on him xx
Michelle,Leeds
The problem is the dog is not staying in the same area so would never find him/her. Hope the dog is ok as he/she wasn't injured on Sunday but the poor dog had no road sense at all and is so nervous.
yorkielass
Has anyone tried walking another lurcher/sighthound round the area the dog is in. I know my lurchers respond to their 'own kind' more than other dogs. Just an idea :-)

thanks Michelle. think same dog as this one is wearing a dark collar too.
the Leeds dog warden is aware and has also been trying to stake out this dog.
he is very nervous when approached
Michelle,Leeds
The dog is wearing a dark collar possibly a flea collar. We could not get closer than approx. 5ft then he would run again. Will go have a drive around today as not far from the area.

Sightings reported this afternoon around 4pm of a lurcher type dog running around the New Farnley area, looking as though may be injured. Some attempts were made to catch the dog, but they managed to run away.
There is a possibility this may be the same dog.
Did anyone notice if the dog sighted on Sunday was wearing a collar?
Had a drive round the area this evening but didn't see he dog.
Hope they are safe.
Michelle,Leeds
We went back to look yesterday around the area but no sighting of the dog. Hope the poor dog is safe x

Have tried to follow up for further information on this dog.
The police have a report filed from around 12pm that the dog was sighted around Near Elland road also running scared around 12md.
The local emergency vets have no listing of him/ her.
Will see if there is a dog warden report tomorrow and report the sighting
Hope they are safe
Xx

We attempted to catch this dog yesterday around 3.30pm it was on the Armley roundabout we spent an hour following the dog. It is extremely nervous and would let us get near. The dog was lucky not to of been hit by a car. It ran off in the direction of Armley.
