The Cotswold Show is at Cirencester Park (Glos) on the 7th and 8th of July and there are many BACS gundog events on both days so lots of Springers will be there, so could be well worth a visit.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have put posters up in shepway vets and a few of the shops that were open yesterday in Shepway. I will put more posters up tomorrow in shepway area too. I think it would be worth speaking to people near to the Ulcombe Travellers site as she is a gun dog and could prove very useful to them with the coarsing and hunting that they do up there. If you speak to people who live near to the site they may have seen her with the travellers.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Has Ulcombe itself and surrounding villages been postered. Has anyone aske about near to the Travellers site as she is a gun dog they may have taken her in I know, by word of mouth, that some of them do hunt and coarse. What about postering the A20 near by? Still cant print off posters but they are in the post to me from Sherlock Bones and will get them up around near me as soon as they arrive. If the owners have any search parties out at all please let me know as I would be only to pleased to help out and am only abuot 15 mins down the rd. I hope Quince is back home soon.xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I havent been able to print off any posters as my printer is broken but a good idea if someone else can put up posters in Shepway shops and Willington Street shops and Senacre shops as these are all local busy areas. The local sorting area is in central maidstone for this area. Sorry I cant be of any more help than that . If printer wasnt broken I would have done the posters myself.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

They may be Wildlife Trust or Woodland Trust managed, in either case they will have a Warden plus Volunteers helping to manage them!!!Both have websites with reserves/woods listed on them.Hope this helpsLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

shellyc- I rang around all the local farmers as soon as she went missing to see if she might have been spotted. Haven't heard anything back. We haven't got any forests nearby- we've combed the woods we normally walk in top to bottom and know the owners. There are some more woods a few miles away; I'm not sure whether they're monitored, but I'll have a look and see.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Thats a good idea Quinces owner.Have you also taken posters to all farms in the area and Game Keepers(as he is a springer they may see him while on shoots etc)? Also do you have any forestry Commision managed sites (forests etc) in the area? You could look on the Forestry Commision website to see.You could then take or email the poster to the Rangers. Also National Trust sites(look on the National Trust website)and do the same.I hope you find Quince soonxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I went and had a drive around Northumberland Road yesterday afternoon to see if I could see her- she has two walks a day with us and would normally be pestering someone to let her out at the time I went. While I didn't see her I did notice that a branch of Vets4Pets was nearby, so I emailed them when I got back and the other vets in the area to be on the lookout.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Jayne- That would be a great idea but each RD in Shepway has a different post man and they are mostly covered by different people each day. I dont have a printer though so cannot get one off pc.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It sounds similar and very simialr in the face. I have only just come home for the day and so have not been able to get on here until now. I only left the msg quickly on my dads laptop. I wish I had stopped but i didnt feel confident enough to confront a group of about 4-6 teenage boys as I had my young son with me. I was driving passed and didnt get a great look at whether her tail is docked or not i was more trying to see if her marking matched Quinces and memorize them so i could look on here as soon as i got to my mums house. I cant even be sure if it was a boy or girl as it had feathers on its underneath. I am so sorry that I cant be of more help u must be frantic but I I will keep my eyes peeled and will store the number from the poster in my mobile so i can call straight away if i see it again.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It would be a good idea to get a poster to the postman who covers this area of Maidstone so we can check out/eliminate this Spaniel.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
Quince's owner
Hi, this is Lucinda, Quince's owner. Quince has got three patches that run in a straight line down her back: one on her bottom that goes over her tail, one slightly higher up and one midback. Right next to the midback one is a second that comes down to her belly on the right hand side. She also has lots of freckles on her legs that you can't see in the picture (it was taken before all her markings came through.) Her tail is docked and has white feathers coming out from the end. She also has a little tuft of slightly lighter brown hair at the top of her head after her blaze finishes. claremarie77, is this like the dog you saw?Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just seen about 10 mins ago a springer spaniel being walked on a lead in the NOrthumberland Road area of Shepway in Maidstone (ME15) by a group of hoodies. It had a very similar face to Quince but had lots of Liver patches on its back and its fur was quite sticky uppy rather than smooth. I am not at home today so cannot do much but thought nif I posted on here someone else could contact owners. It may not even be Quince but I thought better to post msg than keep wondering. I will keep my eyes peeled in future though. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Might be an idea to ask the Ramada Hotel and Tudor Park country clubs if you could put a poster up on the members board. A lot of people from Quince's area are members of those clubs both golf and fitness and are also doggie people. xxxxLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
