A big thank you to Derbyshire police, who recovered Meg following information received. I will not go into further details as we do not want to compromise police investigations. Meg is in good condition but very glad to be back home with her people.
Esther
BRILLIANT ! I am so pleased. A lot of people locally knew she was missing and were watching out for her, all thought her being stolen was despicable. Welcome home Meg
Splopjam
What fantastic news, so happy for you after what must have been an awful and traumatic time... and so hopeful for all the other people who are desperate to be reunited with their dogs after many weeks. Welcome home Meg!!

Meg has just been returned. I don't know the full story, Rottie just called me as she had a call from owner. But as Rottie is a passenger in a land rover at the moment, it wasn't easy for her to hear or be heard. No doubt we will get an update later on.

There's a black lab at Leigh Dog and Cats home, doesn't give any more details unfortunately, scroll through to dog number 2435 http://www.leighdogsandcatshome.co.uk/straydogphotos.html

Still keeping a look out in our area de6
DogLostOwl
It is a long haired GSD who has a page in the found section ID 58421.
Smirnoff
Sorry, but apparently this definitely isn't a labrador. It's something like a wolfhound cross.
Smirnoff
There's a report of a large black dog (described as perhaps GSD) on A52 yesterday. Moved away from A52 to the Long Lane/Thurvaston area. Could this possibly be Meg? Vets and members of the public trying to catch her.

Advertised in this weeks Countryman's Weekly magazine. I hope it brings some news
DogLostOwl
I have just had an update from rottie, and the jumper only had Meg's scent on it so it looks as if the sighted lab was Meg. Wispa immediately got a matching scent which led down the Kirk Ayton road, in the exact direction that the sighted lab was heading. Meg has probably found somewhere to settle by now, so may be close to the shelter of woodland or barn, probably with source of drinking water nearby.
rottie
not silly suggestion, i do not know much about this but did say might be worth leaving bedding or something familiar incase goes back to same area, will try to get kevin later.

ok, this was a lone black dog from what i can gather, could be that was one of the boys who seem to wander that area although tracker dog did seem to get a good scent. Will check with owner that scent item given only had megs scent on it, i know where she was lost from they have other dogs however dont think would be the black lab dogs mentioned so shouldnt have got their scent.
barbrob
Ive just spoken to someone even more local to the sightings last week and there are 2 black labs who frequently wander that area and down into wirksworth, they are both males....and have an owner.

black lab spotted by a lady at the kirk ireton turn (near wirksworth turn godfrey hole)this was thursday 26th and also friday 27th. Owl very kindly has been out with lovely wispa the tracker dog, she look us down into kirk ireton and then a large circuit around which led us on a road heading towards wirksworth. We were unable to track any further as light fading and a busy road with no grass verge, we need another sighting and then owl will come out again.
