Hi, thanks for all your help. He is chipped but the number is a French ID. Guess I need to work out how I can get the chip transferred to a uk database now I now international chips don't work. Thanks again everyone.

There is a dog on lostdogsuk ref WDC-280913-1619, who looks identical. Have spoken to owner of this one & he says it is his. He will phne the warden & update doglost when they are reunited. Yippee.
