great news now able to say pepper is in a car on her way home.
thanks to support from a pet detective
and our family we were able to track the movements of the two women to cctv at a local business.
that business had contact info for the women and the pet detective went to the address.
my heart felt thanks to this dedicated super professional detective for his work. Together with the support of doglost.co.uk and others we have a great result.Last edited: 2013-10-08 22:11:03

Are there any minicab firms around there. If they disappeared from the cctv they may have jumped into a cab. Worth sending a poster to any minicab offices locally and also the local postmen/sorting office as they notice new dogs around. Hope you get Pepper back soon x
Angel
Where was Pepper untied from? Who tied her up?

Do you know the two women caught on cctv in Scrubs Lane at about the time Pepper was stolen? They may have information leading to the recovery of Pepper. Please contact DogLost on 0844 800 3220 or 101 in strictest confidence. There is a substantial reward on offer for Pepper's safe return.Last edited: 2013-10-07 21:40:25

have emailed cctv image but its not great.
bank manager confirms that these are the two women who untied the dog but police feel that
they are 'do-gooders' and not furtive enough to be thieves.
anyway we need to make things clear enough so that they provide information and a safe return.
they might be eastern European [polish] and they may have come from job centre on harrow road
so we will poster and show image on harrow road tomorrow.
any other ideas of places to poster/look like churches or community centres
they may have gone down the cannal as cctv down scrubs lane did not seem to show them

I was at Kensington Car wash today in Scrubs Lane and asked the guys and girls there to keep an eye open too. One other guy at the unit behind also had heard about your dog as he walks his dogs (Plus the Rottie guard dog at the yard opposite) on Wormwood Scrubs every day. Word is out so be positive....one more thing I'll poster the shops in North Pole Road tomorrow as I couldn't see any there and the Butcher's know everyone about with a dog and also see lots passing. They're really helpful there.

Can you email photos of the women to admin@doglost.co.uk..do we have approximate ages for them?

Well done Pepper's owner & thank you for the update. With more info hopefully Pepper will be handed into a police station or rescue or vets soon.i will pop this up on Doglost West London Facebook page.Last edited: 2013-10-08 13:19:18

Great that there are more photos of these women, and I am guessing they are local to Scrubs Lane if they had flowers and shopping with them. Can you tell if they had a supermarket carrier bag, or the type you get from corner shops? There are local shopes on Harrow Rd that they may have used, or maybe Sainsburys, Ladbroke Grove if they were on a bus? Worth postering both, as you say....and bus stops. Someone must know something!
downinguk@gmail.com
update with progress.
police went to bank but could not view cctv just got bank managers statement
copy of bank cctv due to police on Tuesday tomorrow.
we called in a near by shop and got cctv image of two women walking to bank.
bank manager confirms this is the two women that untied the dog.
so we have image of two suspects with some flowers and shopping.
they are two white women so we can rest a little easy about some possabilities.
we feel the women are opportunists wanting a cute dog.
any ideas about finding these women we have some local knowledge
will spread our poster campaign into the local shopping area.
will update when we have more
mardyscot
I'm a local dog owner so will let all know in both big and Little Wormwood Scrubs. Dreadful thing to happen, fingers crossed she'll be home safe and sound soon x

The Mayhew Animal Home have animal welfare officers who liaise with the travellers and are definitely worth speaking to if you haven't done so already. 0208 969 0178

I've been sharing Peppers details on twitter & word is getting out there that she is missing. Your doing great with getting as many posters as possible out there & hoping Pepper will be 'To hot to handle' Use social networking as much as possible word spreads well via Facebook & Twitter. Your local council should have a Traveller Liason Officer based there so it maybe worth speaking to them first thing Monday morning.I really hope you get some good news soon & your lovely girl is returned to you. Good luck x

Thanks Mark
We have already put posters offering the substantial reward at the entrances to three travellers sites in brent we know of. The latimer site was our best hope but no sign of her.
We have not postered brent cross site yet but will do that this afternoon.
Any one any info on how to be proactive with the traveller community looking for dogs.
The cctv reportedly shows two white respectable women an older one and a younger one so we thought
'do-gooders' but not hearing anything from authorities makes this seem less likely.
Our chip company ANIBASE is closed at weekends but has a web site but this lack of progress really gets stressful.
Thoughts of future actions
- getting photos from cctv
- ads in paper
- some form of proactive searching
any ideas welcome.
marc
dont like to say this but have you looked around the travellers site under the west way by latimar rd w10 found one of my dogs there once worth having a look or even putting a poster up by the sports centre there
downinguk@gmail.com
owner had meeting with police who will look at cctv on Monday afternoon to identify the people who untied the dog if possible and where they came or went to with perhaps help from London transport.
owner put up more posters in areas of west London that have communities with lots of dogs etc.
thanks for all the support from doglost community.
lesleyjane
Pepper's link getting lots of re-tweets so the word will be spreading and I really hope she is home soon. Are owners keeping an eye on Gumtree and pre-loved in case she is being advertised for sale?
lesleyjane
I have just tweeted Pepper's link to Brent & Kilburn Times, Nik...I am sure they cover that area.
Unknown
Get posters up in the park. Local dog walkers will spot someone they don't know. I'm not sure if the Willesden & Brent Times goes as far as Scrubs Lane, but get hold of the local paper.
downinguk@gmail.com
Thank you so much for the support guys, we are devastated. I have changed the first picture to one far more like what she looks like, complete with the blue collar that she was wearing, if anyone is willing to re-circulate

Just spoken to Pepper's owner. It is very likely that Pepper has been stolen. There is CCTV footage of two women ,one young the other older, outside Barclay's Bank on Scrubs Lane. They had come from the direction of the bus stop opposite. Police have been informed & will be following this up..
I will put Pepper up on Facebook Doglost West London & request twitter.Last edited: 2013-10-07 21:56:15

The Mayhew Animal home is just round the corner from here, I have tweeted to them to get the word spread. Glad she is chipped, was she tied up outside bank? Do they have CCTV?
