There is a found dog ref 70383 that could be BillyW found RG30
xxlynne
I don't know what "pinked out" means but I was concerned my recent entry didn't lift him to the top. BillyWillum went missing in Reading and this dog was found in Faversham Kent? and now is in Taunton Somerset looks like him but BillyWillum had not collar on, cant see how he made it to Faversham /and then Somerset. I note he is reserved. Last edited: 2014-05-04 17:30:26 by xxlynne

xxlynne for some reason you've been pinked out? Have you checked this dog that I saw on Dogs4Adoption? I did contact them with the link for BillyWillum to check if it's him x

There is a very very similar dog on Twitter @Dogs4Adoption www.dogs4adoption.co.uk called Spud about a year old. Phone 01823 490333. I have posted on their Twitter page BillyWillum's missing details hopefully someone can check please?

Hi, Bobby is no longer on the website at Wallace Kennels. Is there anyway we can find out if he was Billywillum? x
LYDNSYD
Had a look at the piccie of the dog in Wallace Kennels & there is a good likeness. The Dog Photo on DogLost is a 'lookalike' photo so perhaps the people from the Rescue Centre he was being transported from can confirm either way if this could be BillyW ..it would be lovely if it was him.
Wallace Kennels
Wallace Kennels have an unclaimed stray in that arrived on 31st October and he looks very similar. There is a photo of him on www.wallacekennels.com (I Need a Home - under the name of Bobby)

I have spoken to the Dog Warden regarding the found dog in the Colchester area (i.d 59824) and sadly this isn't Billywillum as the owner of the found dog has been in contact with the D/W

xxlynne
We collected 59824 but the recipient Rescue who handled BillyWillum confirmed he was not BillyWillum. We have called the new boy Billy. We pray we will find BillyWillum. We are exploring the Terrier found in Colchester but location brings severe doubtsLast edited: 2013-11-11 18:30:42 by xxlynne

found ref 59824. Informed person on mobile number above. she wil pass on details to rescue centre who were transporting Billywillum when he went missing.
LYDNSYD
All Posters in my allocated area have now been replaced with new ones. Come on BillyW - we're waiting for you to show yourself!!
Clare
Im sure as i was putting them up someone pulled a few off because as i went back up that road it was missing from the lampost.I thought at the time maybe imagination but maybe not.
LYDNSYD
Wendy, Engelfield was one of the 1st to be done also the Post Office & Garden Centre have Posters.
Replaced the poster that was torn down near Homebase - put so much tape on it they will have a struggle to tear it off again. Clare the other poster you put up on the lamppost nearer to Dunelm has also been ripped off sadly I didn't have a spare with me to replace it.
WendyP
Hello everyone, I've been following this little dog's post since he went missing - has anyone been to Englefield Estate and asked if they've seen anything? They own loads of land around the area, they may have seen him or heard something. I really hope he turns up soon x
Clare
Yes LYDNSYD i agree its a shame we have had no further updates or signtings. Its hard to know where to go next with no clue as to areas he may be in. Strange about the poster but maybe kids ripping them off and to be honest in all this rain im suprised any are still up. If the Forest Lodge dog can be ruled out maybe a repostering (if there is such a word)is the only option at present.
LYDNSYD
Went to Homebase in Calcot yesterday and noticed that the Poster that Clare put up by the Pedestrian Walkway that goes over the M4 to Theale(between Dunelm & Homebase had been ripped down - the top & bottom part of the poster was still there but the middle bit with the picture had been torn off - Odd!! I am going back to Homebase tomorrow so will replace the poster. Didn't see one in Hombase itself but they are closing down in 3 weeks time.
I think it might be a timely reminder to all of us in team WillumB that we may have to do another poster replacement run. The one's I put up are rain damaged now sadly.
Has the Rescue Centre been able to contact the people who handed in BillyW to eliminate the Forest Edge dog - it would help to know where we stand as far as this dog goes.Last edited: 2013-10-31 15:40:13 by LYDNSYD

Tony (Cavalierman) is part of that Rescue whose care he was in. I presume that Rescue will be following the thread. I will text Tony. I didn't see him only 100 yds away running. As I have said the forest lodge dog looked in very good nick to be found 2 hours drive awayLast edited: 2013-10-28 20:16:04 by xxlynne
LYDNSYD
With all this rain most of the poster are now rain damaged - I will try to replace them as soon as I can. Shame there hasn't been any news from xxlynne or any sightings of the elusive Billyw - Hope he is still O.K.
Nadine Widdows
I put posters up at Bradfield and Ashampstead Road yesterday. Come on little man, show us your cute little face. x
LYDNSYD
Gone very quiet on BillyW ....is xxlynne able to contact the people who handed him in????? .....it would be nice to know either way. The dog in Forest Lodge has a thin white strip on his forehead ...did Billyw have one.
Shereen
Lydnsyd thats a good idea...xxlynn do you think that is possible?
LYDNSYD
Just to add to cavalier man's comments ... according to the last reported sighting BillyW had moved on from the Eastbound services and was seen running along the hard shoulder of the M4 just past junction 12 which is the Theale/Calcot exit so in other words heading back the way the transporter came. I'm assuming the rescue centre he came from doesn't have a photo other wise I'm sure Shereen would have added his picture. If this Is he case isn't it possible for the people who handed him into the rescue to look atthe Forest Lodge JRT photo just to confirm or eliminate whether this is Billyw
cavalier man
billy had a black head and last seen running across the car park of m4 east services towards burfield lakes....loooked so so many times but no way he would be in milton keynes.......just hope he does turn up
Clare
Can you get a photo emailed from the rescue that he came from. Surely they have a good one of him?
Pootle3008
Hi cavalierman - the photo does look to me like Billy Willum but then again, like you, I only saw him once he'd escaped and was running through the car park & field. What do you think? It does look a lot like how I remember?? It says that he was found an hour away from Reading which could make sence because he has been gone now for over 2.5 weeks so could easily have run that far??? I pray that it is him but how can we be sure???, x

Thanks Nadine,Areas 17 and 19 need doing in this area.x
LYDNSYD
Gosh, the latest lookalike picture is really different from the one in the original posters. If this is a likeness he seems to have more black than I was expecting which is a bit of a surprise.
Nadine Widdows
Hey Shereen... I can either poster those three areas late tomorrow eve or mid morning on Tuesday. To the owner... we have found doggies after weeks and weeks of being lost so as hard as it must be, please try not to worry... we will find your gorgeous little man. So wish I didn't have to spend the day with a dear client tomorrow... would prefer to be searching for little one. Fingers crossed for some sightings. xxx

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for everything you are doing to find Billy Willum. I am so inspired by people like you, and so very thankful. I was there when Billy Willum escaped :-( We looked for ages but nothing :-( and I cannot stop thinking about him and praying for good news. I check this update several times a day. People like you restore my faith in humans. Thank you for your sustained and determined efforts in trying to find one little doggie, xxx

Shereen -I put a Poster up at Moor Copse Nature Reserve and as I drove past today I saw you had added yours. We have walked our dogs there a couple of times but they want you to have your dogs on leads - although some don't comply. It is quite vast and the car park is usually busy. It is a very interesting place & you can get access to the fields that skirt the M4 so might be worth a look.
Shereen
Dark lane done (including flyering some of the big properties) and trout farm (left several with the Farm),the junctions and footpaths at the end of Dark lane leading to Back lane and footpaths etc...the little village (no idea the name of it) between Common Hill and Ashampstead Road...Manor farm lane(including the lane opposite) leading to the footpath that leads to Sulham Hill ,The bus stop opposite the Greyound pub in Tidmarsh,...The Road that leads to Bradfield (incl footpath opposite juction).
Popped into the Moor Copse Nature reserve and someone had already done there...(That area is interesting, will try and take my dogs up there next week and do more there! )...If you zoom in on the map,the square concrete thing in the field between Nunhide Lane and Moor Copse wood...any ideas what that is???...is that a shelter or something else? (in fact there are three of them one in each field appearing to be perfectly in line with each other!)

THANK YOU XXXLast edited: 2013-10-20 17:45:19 by Shereen

I've postered sector 15 & 18 Tidmarsh Lane & Engelfield Road. All the pubs in Theale now have posters (sadly didn't have time to stop for a drink) Put a poster through the letter box of Theale Village Hall and Put up a poster in Theale Golf Club + other places. Went to walk my dogs at Sulham Woods and had a look at the Posters I put up 2 days ago - sadly with the downpour they were damaged so had to replace them. These plastic pockets don't seem to be very sturdy these days. Now all we need is more sightings of BillyWLast edited: 2013-10-20 16:55:27 by LYDNSYD

Hi ive just postered along Nunhide Lane. Given posters to the Pincents Manor Hotel, Homebase, Bowling, Dunelm Mill and drove around putting some up in bus shelters and on post boxes etc in Carrington Road and Dorking Way. Put one up at the Beausheep Community Centre in Linear Park. As it was unfortunately pouring with rain not many people around to ask. Fingers crossed for some good news soon x

Looking at the picture of Billy I have seen a similar dog on the Dogs Trust website. This dog is at their Kenilworth site and is called Clyde. Worth a look.

Will print off more Posters - would it be worth adding the last sighting to the Poster info. Savacentre allowed me to put 2 posters up by the sliding doors at each entrance. and Valley Vets in Pangbourne & Tutts Clump have Posters. The Farm Shop on the A340 near to Theale Golf Course took a Poster so that area is covered as well as Engelfield Plus Theale Railway Station & Sport Fish near the station put up 2 posters. He may have ran a bit further along the motorway so will need suggestions as to where else needs postering.
Clare
From looking at the map it looks like this would be Nunhide Lane. Does anyone know if this is a residential area ?. I can poster here tomorrow Shereen. Im happy to knock on doors as well but only have 20 posters as my printer decided to give up after that.Last edited: 2013-10-19 13:40:24 by Clare

I was going to do some postering today but ended up searching all day for Tinks a Cockerpoo who has just been found Yay. Tomorrow I hope to poster Valley Vets & Tilehurst Vets. I will hand in a poster to Engelfield Post Office & Garden Centre & then if I can will visit the Fisheries by Theale and put a Poster up at Theale Railway station then go on to Savacentre to see if they will put a poster up. When I walk my dogs at Sulham Woods tomorrow I will put posters up there.
Of course as we don't know where Billy has gone - he might have taken the opposite turn and headed to M4 Junction 11 so I guess if anyone is free may be Posters could be put up around that area. Any of the surrounding areas would be a help. Thanks Clare for your help. The more the merrier. Last edited: 2013-10-17 21:28:36 by LYDNSYD

LYDNSYD
Sorry to have got everyone's hopes up but the dog I saw wasn't Billywillum. I was driving along the A340 to Pangbourne & In the field between the turn of to Engelfield & the turn off to Bradfield - I saw a White Terrier dog with a Black Head running in the huge field adjacent to the roadside. I couldn't see anyone with it and it suddenly dawned on me that it 'could' be Billy. It was rush hour so I couldn't stop straight away but did turn back and parked up by the side of the field. I then did a search but couldn't see him but my husband who was in the car waiting for me spoke to a couple who lived in the houses next to the field and explained that I was searching for Billy ...as it turned out they were the owners of the dog that I saw ...a white terrier with a black head ...darn!! While I was searching for Billy I spoke to a very nice man who lives in Engelfield village and he was kind enough to help me look. He wasn't aware that Billy was missing so I will hand in a poster to the Engelfield Post Office & the Garden Centre tomorrow. It strikes me that not a lot of people know that Billy is missing mainly due to the lack of Posters. I'm happy to Poster in Theale & I know Shereen has appealed for help in Postering ---surely some other DogLost Helpers reading this can also assist. The more Poster that go up the merrier. It is very feasible that Billy could come past Calcot, Theale & the surrounding areas so help is needed to find this lovley little dog.

We have just had a sighting called in ...!

fingers xd its him...this was in a field on the A340 just before the Bradfield turn off...very close to where he went missing.Looked like he was chasing something.

LYDNSD who sighted this dog is just nipping back home for a slip lead and food then back out...hopefully she will see him again...so have a slight new area to poster if anyone can help?....if sighted DO NOT CHASE ...offer food down and back off and keep doing it until you can gain trust.Last edited: 2013-10-16 18:16:58 by Shereen

more posters out today..done some searching and spoke to some anglers but still no news.....so many Rabbits around there...just hope its a case of him finding an ideal area (there are loads there) and settling ,and eventually being sighted..There are so many bits of land inaccessible to humans though round there...he could well be there without being sighted :(Last edited: 2013-10-12 19:15:52 by Shereen

I spent an hour this afternoon looking around the roads and fields on the north side of the motorway but sorry no sighting.
Shereen
I did make a report with Network Rail, and not heard anything back yet....but will update as soon as I am contacted by them. There was a report of the police doing a rolling road block on the M4 the day before yesterday as he had been seen on the motorway again, but they were unable to catch him.he scarpered off the motorway again.

Have spoken to and alerted Mould haulage who are putting memos with details and contact numbers around their depot's for their lorry drivers and they are all dog lovers so very keen to help.

Also Called and left details with Reading Lake Hotel who are also alerting people.

Left contact details with Burghfield Golf Course.

tryingto make contact with the manager of the petrol station on the Moto services ,have left a message but will keep trying him.

no bad reports by Highways in charge of the M4 either, so hope its a good sign.Last edited: 2013-10-09 18:11:30 by Shereen

Sorry to see that BILLYWILLUM is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (58157)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
