- What an amazing result! Well done and many thanks to you Cohema and all at the Kit Wilson Trust for Animal Welfare for caring for Dusty so well and reuniting her with her rightful owners. I remember sharing the photo of Dusty when she was first found in Rye and handed to our Dog Wardens. Sadly although I checked GSD's lost I did not recognise her as Dusty .. looking at her after all the tlc from Kit Wilson Trust she looks so different. Thank goodness you were able to sort out the problem with the microchip and once again it shows how important it is to have one for your dogs. Thanks for the lovely reunited photo .. the waggy tail says it all :)
Welcome home Dusty!

- We at The Kit Wilson Trust Rescue Centre were delighted to have been able to re-unite Dusty with her owners after such a long time. Who knows where she has been in those years and she certainly was very neglected when she was found. It was our pleasure to care for her and know she was going back home to such good people.Last edited: 2017-02-12 15:22:29 by Cohema

- What wonderful news that stolen Dusty is home after all this time. If you read the doglot news section about MPs attending a meeting on the 14th March you will see how important it could be to all pet owners. Perhaps you will then consider contacting your MP

- So pleased that KIT WILSON cared for Dusty.I wonder how many rescue centres would have PTS due to health issues. Kit Wilson has been open for many years and has saved many cats and dogs.Well done all at Kit Wilson xxx

- Just occasionally miracles happen - DUSTY'S STORY........
Well what a week it has been!!
For those of you that don't know the story starts in October 2013...... our beautiful dog Dusty was taken from us by thieves and despite a huge effort from family, friends and strangers alike we were unable to find her and as much as we hoped we had to accept the fact that she was gone forever.
Fast forward to this week and Paula received a call from the Kitwilson Animal Trust in Sussex to say they had been handed a dog from the dog warden and when they scanned her micro chip it was our Dusty........ unbelievable!!
Since being taken from us, Dusty had been severely mistreated, she was found in a weak and emaciated condition with sores all over her and with a severe skin condition, plus her rear hips and backend are collapsing after her ordeal. Collette, Sylvia and the Team at The Kitwilson Animal Trust nursed her back to health and we will be forever grateful for what they have done. We also would like to thank them for re-contacting PetLog after there seemed to be some kind of mix up in the PetLog system when the dog warden initially contacted them.
A long journey ensued as we raced down to pick her up and thank the wonderful people who had cared for her and got in touch with us.
Finally last night at around 7pm - after nearly 3 1/2 years - Dusty returned home to New Range!
She is now an old lady and can live out the rest of her years happily where she belongs!! - 2015-11-17 22:15 Bee

- Sadly the dog above is not Dusty.
I spoke to the owners last night.
Who then looked at the picture of the RTA.
The picture at the rescue.
I cannot find any lost dogs on any sites that are similar colour.
