http://hometown.aol.co.uk/ianwebblara/myhomepage2dog.html I stumbled across this site and they have a a fantastic website showing pics of all found dogs. There is one fitting your description. Check it out - the dog warden has two district areas within his web site, so make sure you access all. Paws crossed. I hope you find him. Big hugs xxx Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Very long shot but there is a grey & white bearded collie cross in the Wirral shelter, I know Rollo was chipped, but worth a look? http://www.wirral.gov.uk/wirraldogs/Detail.asp?DogsID=2864Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

have come up with a theory of what may have happened to him. could be wrong but seems very strange that there are a few sightings a week for months and then nothing at all, and nobody has seen or heard anything of him for about 6 weeks. HE IS CHIPPED,but no news from dog wardens, kennels, police, rail track etc. and no body found. It seems more and more that someone has got him and perhaps has moved on, because there has been great coverage of this missing dog, and it would be recognised. This is not the end - he may be found yet - however long it takes.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

some friends and I went on a 150 mile day trip to look all over the places where Rollo has been seen in the past. We put posters up and asked everywhere we could and stopped dog walkers to ask, but there has been no sight of him for 6 weeks now. We shall keep on hoping there is some sighting of him. He must be out there somewhere.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Been looking at maps and cursing the fact that my old but good laptop can't run Google Earth! I trust you have posters up at the Porthleven golf course - the links are always a good place for rabbiting.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Sable, I had an email from you but it mysteriously vanished just as I was about to open it so please would you send it again? Thanks. The other thing I could mention is that if there are any hardy souls willing to go trekking about in the snow, you have the advantage that in Aberdeenshire you will certainly get some opportunity for following tracks if you haven't pulled him in by then. thank you so much for that information. I have passed it on to the owners. I hope it gives them motivation to keep going with the search for Rollo.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I see that Rollo was sighted late September. He could well have gone a couple of months unseen. Teddy down in Herts has done that, has even gone for longer and then surfaced. Rollo is a lot younger than Teddy, half his age in fact, so is in his prime. Dogs living feral usually stake out a territory which is roughly triangular. The size of the triangle varies with the dog and the terrain and hunting/scavenging opportunities. There will of course be fewer sightings now because if the increasing hours of darkness which will enable a dark dog to get around unseen. There is no reason for Rollo's people to feel they have to give up. I see he went missing in April, so to be seen 5 months later means that he has found some survival skills and can go on indefinitely. Collies and collie crosses are some of the best survivors living wild.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Can EVERYONE PLEASE look out for this dog, who may look a lot different from his photo after all this time. He could be in these areas - Nigg, Portlethen, Cove, Charleston, Banchory Devenick, Netherley, Muchalls and all areas connected. He seems to be making his territory in these areas. There have been no sightings for about 5 weeks now, but there is still hope of finding him after the other Doglost stories of dogs on the run for a lot longer. He will be nervous and may not want to be approached, but please call the owners right away on these numbers. 07753 605223 or 01224 318067 or 07980 920473. He need to come home to his owners, who miss him. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Apparently the trap has caught nothing although the door was closed on it and nothing inside so the owner is thinking something else is eating the food. I live a very long distance from where he has been seen, but I have a friend who works for the council and she is going to ask the bin-men in that area to look out for him and also put up a notice in the community centre in Cove. I would go and have a look for him myself but I do not know the area at all and there is so much ground to cover. I am still hoping for a safe return but the owner has been running an ad in the paper every day for the last 6 months and is going to be stopping it soon, so I suppose that will reduce his chances of being found. Could anyone set a trap in the area where last seen, also perhaps do a bar b q to get all the smells and set the trap with food.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just spoken to the owners and this found dog has white on his nose and Rollo does not. I think the owners are on the point of giving up now as it has been 6 months since he went missing and although he has been seen, it has been about amonth since the last sighting. Is there anyone who lives in that area could have look in the woods around Cove or any wooded area where he may be sheltering? Last time he was seen he was limping.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just looked at that one. Thanks for mentioning, it's hard to tell from these particular pictures and not likely as Rollo is thought to be still on the run, but Sable please will you check these photos against each other? I'm not suggesting he has legged it to Sheffield, but if a dog gets picked up by someone with a car he can end up anywhere.Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I work on the outskirts of Cove and drive from Portlethen every day using the old back roads. I've had the telephone number in my purse for months now in the hope that one day I'll see Rollo. I've spoken to everyone at work that I can and we even have the phone numbers and photo up in our Reception in case any visitors to the office sight the dog. I won't stop looking until we find out what's happened to RolloLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

This information was passed on today: 'Rollo is still going around. He has been seen very recently in the COVE area. The owner now has a humane trap/cage to try and get him. PLEASE call these numbers immediately if you see him. 07753 60223 or 01224 318067. He has been missing a very long time but is still alive and needs to come home to his owners. He is nervous of strangers now after being on his own all this time, but PLEASE everyone - help to get Rollo home."Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have seen the ad in the newspaper every day since this doggy went missing and it must be costing a lot , but what is money when you are so desperate? The last ad said there were sightings around Netherley area, ao I cannot help thinking that travellers may have her as they were in an area at Catterline, (not too far away) when she went missing. How about finding out all the traveller sites in the area - the council will surely know where they are? You could check each one out on sevearal occasions, or get friends to help. If it was me I certainly would do so. Just a suggestion, but my heart goes out to you every time I read your ad in the paper daily. Success and best wishes to you xLast edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
