mathers22
Fantastic so pleased well done everyone xx
Nicky
Amazing result.

It was really hard warming to see the number of people looking for Tim. Lots of people giving up their time because they were so touched by a man and a dog they'd never met. I only meet the Dog Lost lady and the lady that owned the farm close by, they really were fantastic at coordinating.

Well done everyone involved.

Just the news I was hoping for - came straight back to the PC when came in from walking our dogs. Wonderful news and a lovely photo too. Such lovely people in the area too, helping out and you all played a part in getting Tim back. Well done everyone!
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
So pleased all turned out well, what a little monkey Tim is. His owner and son had seen him 3 times this afternoon. Janice and I walked across the fields and met Mike, walked on a bit further and found we were being followed. We stopped, he stopped. All crouched down with backs to him, Mike tossed a couple treats and bingo, he couldn't resist. Once back on a lead you would have thought he was any other dog out for an afternoon stroll. He was thrilled to meet up with his dad, jumping up with lots of kisses for him.
We couldn't have done it without all the help from the local people so a massive thank you to you all.
Jessbenem
Brilliant news, I've just come back that way after dropping my daughter off at work, as I was looking out of the car window I wondered if he might follow his his own scent back the way he came. So glad he can go back to Cornwall, a place I love to take my dogs several times a year.😊😊😊😊

DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Great news & praying for a happy reunion, probably best if everyone else stays clear or by the main road at least, so as not to muddle the scent of Tim's owner and so as not to spook Tim. Sometimes the best action is just to take no action. Wish I could be there nail biting with you though.
Jenny
Apparently Dad's sighting of Tim was off the road in fields near Hampreston Church. this was at about 12.45 today
Jenny
Thankyou for helpingJessbenem, Dad (Peter) just rang to say they had seen Tim in fields on the same side of the road as Haskins garden centre on a farm, just past High Meadow Lane(going west along Ham Lane). He wasnt sure of the name of the farm and rang off to call Tim.
Jessbenem
Have been to Longham church Three times since 12 haven't managed to meet up with anyone, would have loved to have met up with Peter and KathB. I'll keep looking and hoping for a happy outcome. My daughter has shared on her Facebook.

Hope Tim shows himself to his Dad today, lovely to see so much support for this dog
Jessbenem
Walked on common, have told several more dog walkers who were unaware. Did extended usual walk, in from Mountbatten rd. over great barrow, down towards the angel, back round and out at laying fields. If we're not successful today posters would be great around this area, at least 5 could be put in good visible places for dog walkers to see. Will be at Longham for short time today.
SammyD
Where abouts is Tim's dad waiting?
SammyD
Was out searching yest, but no good. Been in comms with Helen today and will go back to Little Moor Farm today to see if he's taken food left. Will come to church opposite Haskins for 12
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Fingers crossed everyone, Peter is in place just waiting for Tim to process who it is and that he needs to go to his dad. This is going to be a waiting game now, calm and quiet. Any planning to meet at the church check in here or on the Facebook group for any updates before leaving home.
EllieBT
Sorry I can't be out looking today. After we walked yesterday I took a drive round the area and noticed a path on the opposite side of the road to the Angel pub where lots of dog walkers were heading in the direction Tim was seen. Thought it would be a great place for a poster to spread the news and get local dog folks on the look out. Will try to walk there tomorrow if we can and hand out some notices. Really hope to. If Tim's family are about tomorrow look for me with two Borders.
DogLostGnasher - Area Co-ordinator, East Dorset
Come on out Tim, dad's ready to take you home !
Got everything crossed for today xx
Jenny
Hi Peter(owner) is with Kath B at the moment, in the area Tim has been sighted. He also took a bundle of posters with him. thanks and here's hoping.
Jessbenem
Thanks for the update. Will there be anymore posters available? There are several places they could go around the common, if they haven't been placed tree already.Last edited: 2013-10-19 08:49:41 by Jessbenem

Anyone interested please meet at midday at Longham church, car park opposite Haskins Garden Centre.
Jessbenem
Damp but dry at the moment, I'll take my dogs out at about 9, but check here to see if anything else is being organised. The Angel car park or Haskins car park is a good place to park if you are not local. Some of the Ferndown Common paths will be pretty wet so wellies might be an idea. Best of luck to everyone who is looking for TIM.
Wookie's Mum (HLC)
Good luck today everyone, I can't come today, doing a taster day dog grooming course at Kingston Maurwood college in Dorchester but will check the posts on here & my phone threw out the day. Helen
beautygirlcassie
I hope today is the day that Tim is found. Good luck with efforts to track him down today. Hope he's safely tucked up somewhere, and keeping away from the busy roads in this area.

Yes please I'd like to be there to help in any way I can....can't arrive till early afternoon
My contact number 07795 175349
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
There are plans afoot to organise a search tomorrow if anyone is interested. A little more organising to do yet so please keep an eye on here for more details.
Kathb
Ferndown common is a great place to be looking people, anywhere from Canford bottom to Haskins as far as ferndown upper, stapehill road, the thatch pub, no indications of him having crossed any major roads yet, luckily.
Kathb
I will stay in the area tomorrow in case I am needed and I will text my contact details to Peter so that he can get in touch if he wants me x
Jessbenem
Live very locally, will walk the dogs that way tomorrow. Lots of access points onto Ferndown Common along Ringwood Road, down Angel Lane, opposite The Angel. Has The Angel got a poster? If anyone is meeting up I'd try and join. Hope TIM is found soon. It's not raining here at the moment.Last edited: 2013-10-18 21:47:02 by Jessbenem

Such a shame that there is now a change in the weather, poor Tim, I hope he has found somewhere warm to shelter. We can't thank you all enough especially those travelling from afar to help.
Wookie's Mum (HLC)
Still no news after spending the afternoon walking along the bridle path from Little Moor Farm (parallel to Ham Lane B3073) across Stapehill Road along the path threw the fields & pop out on Ham Lane opposite High Mead Lane then carried on left along the pavement up to the church & up along Ringwood Road A348 to Pompeys Lane along the bridle way to the other bit of Pompeys Lane & back again to the farm. I did that this afternoon with Elspeth from Dorchester & her two border terriers.
I've just spoken to Peter, he wants to come & look with his son tomorrow & or Sunday but if they do it would be nice if someone local could show them where we've been looking & walking (as its difficult to explain on the phone when they don't know the area. I'm not around at all tomorrow (Saturday) so if someone could give Peter a ring & arrange something that would be great. His landline & Internet is down at the moment but the number I've spoken to him on is 07708 480133 - thanks Helen
Nicky
Hi I'd like to help tomorrow. Is the best place to look around Ham Lane and the church by Haskins? i will be driving down from Bristol so I want to make sure I focus in the right area.
Thank you.
Jenny
Dad's phone line/broadband is down, possibly for 24 hours they say. please contact me if any news on 01637 877506 number. thanks
Caroline
So hope he responds to Peter's voice tomorrow - but if not I can come and search on Sunday so will be in touch for details and to find out if anyone else going on Sunday as I don't know the area at all. Everything crossed.
Kathb
I have been to all of the places you mention Labradorloopy and more, posters are there and no new leads, everybody in the area seem to know about Tim and are keeping their eyes peeled. Need more sightings :(
labradorloopy
Hi, I live very locally, in West Moors. Happy to help with searching if you need me.I'm around Sunday and all next week (on A/L). Good luck. One thought - there is a local primary School, Hampresston, off Ham lane, maybe the children/parents could have posters to help spread the word, also Knowll Gardens, The Old Thatch Pub, Garden Centre on way to Ferndown( can't remember name) and businessess in Ferndown Industrial Park. I could help with this Monday onwards. Last edited: 2013-10-18 12:59:44 by labradorloopy

Been here 2 hours & not seen anything, give it a few more minutes & i'm heading home, sorry no news
Jenny
Peter , the owner , (my Dad) and my brother are planning to go back to the area tomorrow to look for Tim. This depends on what happens today. thanks for all your efforts.
Jenny
no he couldnt make out the colour but said it did have a metal tag. Tim has a blue collar and metal tag with his name and telephone number.
lmoore - Area Volunteer, Wiltshire
Could the man that saw the dog remember the colour of his collar.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
EllieBT have emailed you with Wookiesmum HLC number do contact her to help...tx
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
Its great that so many people are out searching for Tim. If you can, get together and do so in an organised fashion and always with your back to the main road. As Poochpal says he is staying in a safe area, so a softly softly approach to the search is needed so as not to spook him. Good luck - you are all doing a great job.
Kathb
Talbot woods is a good way off from here and is very built up and I feel that if he was there, he would of been spotted between here and there, I am inclined to believe at the moment. Everything crossed, today is the day
Wookie's Mum (HLC)
Haskins have been told, my sister in law works there & I emailed her the poster yesterday so hopefully it will be up today.
Hadn't thought about lighting a BBQ, have got a disposable 1 out, no sausages at home but have grabbed a 1/4 beef burger out of the freezer, off to meet Kath this a.m.
Shereen
5-6 miles is feasible given the circumstances....so don't rule it out...the best thing to do is to see if someone local can physically meet up with this person to point out exactly where sighted and in which direction the dog was heading in....it may be that he ran and may of settled in the area and then put lots poster there and in the surrounding area.

is there anyone local who can do this?....also to mark any possible sightings on a map, giving times/dates,so you can build up a picture .
Jenny
I have just heard from the man again who said he saw the dog in Dulsie Road, Talbot Woods at 5pm Thursday. This seems to be 5 or 6 miles from the last sighting, so not sure if this will be Tim.
Jenny
I have just had a call from a man who thinks he might have spotted Tim in the Talbot Woods/ Ensbury/Dulsie Road area. He almost grabbed his collar but the dog ran off. He thinks it was probably a Border terrier but he wasn't positive.I am trying to contact him to get the exact location.
LazyFastDog
Hi, Have Haskin's staff been made aware & the church? Hope He is traced by the trackers. I have tomorrow off if I am need to help search? I can bring my dog along if it would help?
Has a BBQ been lit with some yummy sausages on it? May entice him out of hiding as he must be hungry by now. :-(
Wookie's Mum (HLC)
I'm meeting Kath tomorrow morning & going to the area he seems to be in. Peter (owner) has sent me 3 things unwashed socks, a piece of sheet Tim likes to dig at & a bit of Peters clothing, so fingers crossed. Helen
EllieBT
Can I help in any way to find Tim? I am near Puddletown and can come over to Wimborne and can do anything which is needed.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
I am not sure what items have been sent, it was suggested that it was clothing worn by the owner to keep Tim in the area. I think K9 would need something with Tim's scent to be able to track him, I have asked them to contact the owner direct to discuss the possibility. At the moment he appears to have found a safe area so hope he stays there.
Kathb
I have a location to place Tim's items, so far Tim has not crossed any major roads and is still close to the scene of the accident, He has been sighted twice today and once last night on and around my address, I am happy to meet you Helen tomorrow, so I can show you where we need to focus efforts to try and close in on him. X Kath x
DogLostGnasher - Area Co-ordinator, East Dorset
Is it possible to enlist the help of someone like k9 search team to assist with the search now your in possession of Tim's scent ?
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Well done team Tim...tx helpers for going out searching...the first sighting came in via the posters so please ensure you put more up in the area...Now I have Hlc aka Helens number I can phone to update with any news sightings.
Wookie's Mum (HLC)
I'm home now, we've (me & our dog) walked miles round & round in circles threw fields, down bridle paths & along the road, bumped into 7 people also looking for Tim & paired up with Sue & her dog for the last hour. No news I'm afraid. The bits of fabric have arrived from Peter (owner) while I've been out looking for Tim, but where's the best place to put them. Coz if that's was Tim today that was seen he isn't near Canford Bottom roundabout, I can take the fabric out tomorrow a.m
Jenny
Thanks again everyone. Its very kind of you to give up your time. Just to let you know, the Echo have been in touch with Dad and they are going to put a piece in the paper along with Tim's photo. Fingers crossed
Wookie's Mum (HLC)
i'm still in the area i can meet u ? where about r u ? helen
Wookie's Mum (HLC)
tracey rang me earlier to say that she thinks she may of seen Tim, i've been walking round for over an hour now & spoken 2 lots of passers by & 3 people who were also looking for him. i'm now back @ my car given our dog a drink, i thought having our dog Wookie with me might help?
lmoore - Area Volunteer, Wiltshire
Have jus phoned the lady that owns this farm and she knows exactly where the person means so is heading back to check it out. She was out searching for him. Fingers crossed for him. Com on Tim
Amberpops
I really hope it was Tim, let's get this boy home to his dad, well done all volunteers, it's such a lovely thing you're doing helping Tim's owner
Jenny
Have spoken on the phone to the lady who saw a dog - sighting was in undergrowth in fields opposite Haskins Garden Centre near a chapel. Have checked area on Google Earth - perhaps in Pompey Lane area. Many thanks to everyone who's looking.
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Sighting rung into HQ 2 hours ago by the Huskins roundabout on the Ringwood Road heading towards Ferndown in some undergrowth.
Caroline
Is there any way of doing a radio appeal as well, perhaps Dorset and surrounding counties?
Wookie's Mum (HLC)
No news to report I'm afraid but I have just had Sam from Hillside Vets (Corfe Mullen) on my phone who got in touch with the Echo & The evening Echo want to run a story on missing Tim, the Echo are going to get in touch with the owner, so fingers & paws crossed it will spark an interest.
Wookie's Mum (HLC)
I'm going back there this morning (when the traffic has died down) will see if the beef smacko's have gone,(although animals could eat them) forgot to say I rang our vets Lynwood at Wimborne, Hillside vets Corfe Mullen, registered with the Dog Warden, tried the RSPCA but just got the answer phone which tells you to contact the dog warden.
Jenny
Thank you so much to everyone out there who is helping to find Tim .We really appreciate all your efforts and have been amazed at the response. We will keep hoping.

The owner lives in Cornwall, Tim is people and dog friendly so may have been picked up by someone not aware of the circumstances.
It is great that there are so many people helping, we just need that one sighting to know that he is safe.
Caroline
Also wondering in which direction owner lives, in case he's heading that way although realise it's a long way. Last edited: 2013-10-16 21:35:53 by Caroline

Roughly how old is Tim and is he neutered? Wondering if he has any 'street value'. Does he like other dogs ie would it be helpful to take a dog to look for him?
DogLostBobble - Area Co-ordinator - Somerset & East Sussex
I heard about the accident on the travel news - I am so glad there are so many of you working to find Tim and get him home. Good luck - you are all doing the right things to try and get him home.
Kathb
I have put out 22 posters this morning, 8 more to go, I have done all the local vets and 3 of the 6 exits off the roundabout, colehill have bin collection and the boys took a poster and promised to keep a close eye out for him on their rounds. Hampreston first school are going to put the board out in their playground at pick up time to let local mummys waiting for their kids to spot. I am home now to sort my own animals, then going to canford village, merley and holt to get a few more out... keep searching everyone and Tim, we are coming!!! show yourself :) xxx
Wookie's Mum (HLC)
Well it's WET & wild here today, but I printed off 6 posters this morning & stuck them in A4 pockets (hopefully they'll stay dry as I put the opening at the bottom) and off I went in the car with our dog to Old Ham Lane (near the Fox & Hounds Pub) we didn't see anyone to speak to, only idiots like me out in the weather today, Wookie & I walked threw the underpass (under the A31) past the back of Jewsons to Wimborne Road West B3073, then back threw the fields to the river near Canford School, I put up 5 A4 signs in the plastic pockets & popped another copy threw the letter box of the Pub, so fingers crossed someone knows something & will be in touch. Peter (Tim's owner) rang me this morning, he's very grateful to everyone that's trying to help find Tim & is sending me some of Tim's blanket which I will take back to where I went today, I also left a few beef smacko strip treats in places that I will check, good luck everyone Helen Last edited: 2013-10-16 15:14:12 by Wookie's Mum (HLC)

That would be great if you can do some posters Inkie's Mum. I was going to send some to another helper but they would be up much quicker if you are able to do them.

I am 2 minutes from accident site and will print posters and get them into the local area, can I suggest yout Share dog lost poster to Dorset Dog Rescue, comfycare and dawg dawgs rescues who work in the area, shout me if you need me to help in any way, I have stables, dog cages and can get to the location very quickly if you need me
Jenny
Thanks again to everyone. On the day after the accident we had a look round for Tim in the Canford Bottom area. We left Tim's details at the Fox and Hounds pub and at a local farm house. I have given details to a local vet - vets2you and with the 2 council dog wardens. We are now thinking about coming back to Dorset to do the scenting.
DogLostPoochpal - Regional Co-ordinator - South West - Police Liaison Team
Thanks every one, as owner and family are so far away all help will be much appreciated. If anyone local is willing to have a garment posted to them ready to place in the area of a sighting (probably near the site of the accident) please can you contact owners direct on the numbers above or pm me via Doglost Southwest Facebook group. I can also post posters to anyone able to put some up for us..
Wookie's Mum (HLC)
They can send stuff to me (smelly t-shirt etc) there is an subway type thing that goes under the road metres from the round about, accessed from the lane that you go down to go to the fox & hounds pub.
I've just looked on google maps on the iPad - Fox Lane is where the pub is, you go down past the pub, the pub would be on your left then go past at the sort of T junction turn right on to Old Ham Lane the subway type thing goes under the A31 to Ham Lane. I will get some posters that way tomorrow.Last edited: 2013-10-15 21:46:22 by Wookie's Mum (HLC)

Helen - owners family are so far away - can you advise if there is anywhere that Tim could hide up - ideally we'd like to get scent to the area (possibly a T shirt of owners etc) - but no idea where and they're not local - if we can keep Tim there - it would be fantastic... but we'd need to get items to a local - wink - wink!!
