- Hope things work out for this boy. As for showing aggression. I think I would be aggressive if I had been chained up for a whilew. Thsnks for trying to help him. Large paws xd.

- Must clear this up...Daneline passed on message that a home had been found for Sasha and it was presumed it was daneline who had done this...it now transpires that Daneline were told by the kennels this was the case...Local media are looking into this as story given by kennels appears to be different...please everyone let the journalist speak to the kennels and dog warden without everyone ringing them...and lets sort this out...

- Well done Daneline for giving him a chance. Im sure i'd be agressive as well if i'd been chained up and left. Great work everyone involved. Being on this site restores my faith that there are still good caring people in this world.

Hope he can be saved xx - 2013-10-24 00:07 digbysmum
- Of course he will be aggressive after being chained up for heaven knows how long. Is it really worth trying to find his owners as they obviously abandoned him when they no longer wanted him. This lovely boy certainly doesn't deserve this and I sincerely hope that a rescue place can be found for him asap xx

Rufus' the abandoned dog to be destroyed if owners don't save him
AN ABANDONED dog found at a farm in Middlewich is to be destroyed if his owners don’t claim him by the end of this working week.
'Rufus' will be put down this Friday if his owners don't claim him
The dane cross-breed, who was found chained to machinery at a farm in Byley just over a week ago is said to be aggressive and will be put down on Friday, October 25.
‘Rufus’, who was named by Middlewich Police, was handed over to Staffordshire City Dogs Homes by Cheshire East dog wardens.
The owner of City Dogs Homes, Gordon Oldfield, was initially going to put ‘Rufus’ to sleep earlier but since speaking to The Guardian has agreed to keep him longer to give the owners a chance to reclaim him.
“He’s been with us a week,” he said. “This is usually the maximum amount of time we keep aggressive dogs but we’ll give it until Friday to see if his owners pick him up.
“If they fail to do so then he will be passed onto vets who will put him down.”
'Although he's in good nick, he's very aggressive'
Kennel Assistant Mandy Latham added: “Although he is in good nick, he’s very aggressive and tries to bite us which means he’ll bite anybody and therefore cannot be rehomed.”
An Informant contacted Middlewich Police in the early hours of Saturday, October 21 after finding him abandoned at their farm.
Police kept Rufus in custody for three days before Cheshire East Dog Wardens picked him up and handed him over to Staffordshire City Dogs Homes.
Middlewich Custody inspector Simon Meegan said: “The informant called us saying he had found a dog that was acting very aggressively towards him.
“The dog was frightened and bearing his teeth, but he eventually calmed down.
“He’s a big, healthy and strong dog however we don’t know whether his aggression is due to the treatment he has received or his temperament.“
The owners of ‘Rufus’ should contact Cheshire East Council dog wardens immediately on 03001235021. - 2013-10-23 22:02 Fairy Tails Dog Grooming
