Have seen a dog at a rehoming place in Essington (nr. Wolverhapton) called Bainsley who looks so like your dog. Please have a look on their FB page and let me know what you think. It's Caars Animal Rescue. Click on the photos and scroll down quite a way he's been there since October ? I met him when I went there the other week and he is a very friendly gorgeous chappy.

A couple of weeks ago we were told of a skinny black lab stealing food from fishermen at Hollowell reservoir. A few visits to the area have proved unsuccessful. On Xmas day a lady from guilsborough called Monty's owner to say she had just seen a black dog drinking from her birdbath. it all sounds promising that he is still in the area, but is now does not want to approach people so needs people in the area to be extra vigilant and if possible shut him into a garden.

This was posted on a page i shared dont know if any help but thought i better share Layla shared Found this on Daventry Express page, not sure if it will help.
P 18 this week has a small clip about a possible puma at west haddon which 'looked black and the size if a Labrador'. Isn't it more likely to be a Labrador given that a black one is missing from that area.

Sorry Lizzy. If I am with a client I can't always answer the phone and I suspect you were the 'witheld number' so I couldn't call you back! Have phoned Leigh - the dog there is a bitch, so not Monty (but thank you Amanda for trying!) And am waiting for someone to come back to me a reward (email last week?) Thank you - Anne x

59393 not listed on here so I assume this dog has been re-united with his owner (?) I suspect it is the dog advertised as 'found' in the papershop in Bugbrooke..... and I'd already checked that one out!!
As for the FB link..... can someone explain to a complete technophobe how I make it work (Enid Blyton language only please!)

have shared on FB and also on Duston Dog Walkers FB page - will put a poster up in local pet food suppliers (Collins pet foods, Hardingstone) as people come from around the area. Do wonder if he was picked by a "helpful" passerby? Sure you have had lots of good advice - have you plastered the area with posters and if poss get the local people, papers, radio involved. Hoping for good news soon -stay safe Monty xx

Spike. Photos cropped and updated. Many thanks x

The image size on the poster measures:- 9 X 10, your image is 5.3 X 7.7, the program they have used has pulled out and squashed down the image to make it fit the frame. Try cropping your image to achieve a matching 9 X 10 size ratio. Try to show more of the dog and less of the back ground, less than a quarter of this photo is of the dog. I would suggest you crop the photo horizontally just above his head and then just below his near forepaw. Then crop it vertically just to the right of his near hind paw and just to the left of his near fore paw. this should give a much better poster image.Last edited: 2013-10-29 20:35:42 by Spike

Amanda. Thank you for posting. I don't think it IS Monty but is difficult to tell from the photograph. I have emailed them. (incidently.... does anyone know how I improve the poster photo? It seems all distorted??) And - Bertie050 - I saw your listing for YOUR Monty when I initially came on the site! Two black lab Montys!! I couldn't believe it! Am so pleased you are back together. Well done!
Amanda

Hi, my monty, also a black lab went missing hundreds of miles away from home. He has managed to find his way back to me at an unfamilliar location so don't give up! Check allfarm buildings and can you get local radio and papers involved as they were very helpful when my monty went missing yesterday

Sorry to see that MONTY is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (59006)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
