So desperately saddened by this news, made all the more poignant because of Jamie's miserable existence before he came to this country. It seems so cruel he was denied the happy life Donna works so hard to achieve for all the dogs that come her way. I would like to offer heartfelt thanks to the Dog Lost team and Shereen for continuing to offer help and support in the face of very testing circumstances. Donna deserves huge credit too for her tireless devotion to duty and for making brave but tough decisions tonight. Above all, I'd like to pay tribute to Jamie's beautiful, gentle spirit. This wasn't the journey we wanted for him and I am so very sorry that he was let down.
Shereen
Very Sad update...Jamie was involved in an RTA earlier tonight and had sustained injuries that were devastating for him,so much so that the decision was made on advice of the vets to let him go on his final journey to Rainbow Bridge .We are all heartbroken for poor Jamie,we all worked so hard to get him back and we all wanted the same thing for this dear boy. What I am thankful for ,is in the last 4-5 days of his life,he had settled and wasn't so scared and although he didn't want to get close to people,he did have a little doggy friend who he really liked.for some reason he had been crossing the road and the accident happened when he was coming back to the trap tonight. We were so very close.

I would like to thank the land owners and volunteers for all of their help , all very kind people.

Please can we keep this page for tributes for this very special boy.

Run Free in the sunshine Jamie,so sorry we couldn't get you in time.R.I.P XxxxLast edited: 2013-11-10 01:10:11 by Shereen

Thanks for the advice Donna. I'm only 5 mins away and have plenty of spare dog and cat (more smelly) food should they need it dropped off. Will await Deeppurple's return.
Donna
Hi All - please do not all rush to the area, this is vitally important. Depurple1 - please can you ask them to keep placing food in the area twice daily dawn and dusk and DON'T try to catch him. I know it is hard but just feed from a distance so we can attempt to build a routine and then allow us to trap once he is returning to area. Please call in any sightings to 07766021465

just returned from searching woods where vickip described in her post , but nothing so dense, so many places for Jamie to hide, praying someone sees him somewhere very soon, went up hog-oak/ash ford lane as well .
Donna
We have had no further sightings of Jamie since he was seen in Warfield Nuptown - on Hogg Oak Lane where it meets Ashmore Lane/Path. He made of to the North side. If anyone is able to get out today I would think best place to start. If we have any sightings today I will update on here straight away. Please keep pushing his posters and details on fb. Thanks everyone for all your help. Lets hope we can get him home soon Dx
Mary
Sorry guys wasn't able to get out there today but am back on it for tomorrow. Please can you post an update of last sighting and where you want searches to start tomorrow so our limited time and daylight can be used lucratively. Praying for good news soon x
bennett
I so agree with what plwoodhouse has just said. I have been following this thread since sharing on facebook and so willing Jamie to be found. You are truly inspiring and I too have been checking this day and night in the hope to read that Jamie has been found. Not sure I can be of any help as live in Langley Berks and would only be available to help in the evenings but would be very willing if needed. xx

piwoodhouse
Have been following Jamie's thread and willing this lad home. I think the sheer grit and determination you're showing at such a fraught time is truly inspiring. You can win any battle if you work as a team. Good luck everyone xx
Shereen
yes well it is 100% about Jamie and getting him to safety...I don't care about anything else . I just hope he can stay safe until he is caught,he is a clever boy so I hope in the right circumstances this can happen soon.we have some amazing volunteers out there....and have massive respect for them.Last edited: 2013-11-04 17:50:38 by Shereen
Clare
Lets remember we all have a common cause ie the safe return of Jamie. Emotions are running high and everyones disappointed and frustrated that he hasnt been caught yet. Lets all try and keep positive and send positive energy to keep him safe until he can be found and reunited. We're all on the same side x

Can I just add further to Donnas comments getting hold of tracker dogs is not at all easy firstly there is not that many in this country that are willing to volunteer for free and those that do have huge workloads which has to be prioritised as harsh as that may sound its reality . The tracker dogs we used last week were successful In what we asked them to do on the day ...
BB451 Kent co-ordinator
Donna, I'm going to give you a call in about half an hour. would you be kind enough to have a list of the sightings in order of when they happened so I can work on a map to plot the sightings and look for repetitions which will show us the route he is taking please? (I'll text this to you as well) xx
kaz
Donna which is the best number for people to call if he's sighted??
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Sorry ladies have just picked up on these posts due to B.....y Fireworks going off on the weekend....ie over 100 dogs a day reported as lost, found and in most cases reunited...all of us here at Doglost have been doing the best possible to assist...will phone Shereen now and ask for her assistance...though I know she has been as busy as most co's this weekend...and it will probably go on for a few days...try and keep calm and think about Jamie....tx everyone...
Donna
kaz - Everything possible that can be done is being done. The posts on here are kept to sightings and facts. If you have a problem please contact me directly as this is not helping Jamie. There are so many people doing so much, however we are reliant on a sighting of Jamie to progress things. As frustrating as this is for you we are working non stop to get Jamie back.
kaz

Donna
Kaz - Comments like that are not helpful. Everyone is volunteering their own time willingly to help. I and lots of others have been working constantly on this to try and find Jamie and will continue to do so. people with trained tracking dogs have been out most days. We cannot do much until we can locate the area he is in and only then will we be able to act. Dogs Lost is a wonderful organisation full of people who all volunteer their time and efforts freely. We need to remember that they do this out of choice. We are so grateful that they do and hope that everyone will continue to help with our search. Jamie is everyone's priority and we are all doing our upmost to get him back safely.
kaz
Thank you Nat x
Nat
yes I agree, it is so frustrating to think we may be so close to him. Everything crossed that he is soon back home where he should be.I am happy to help where I can.
kaz
Hi Nat, like I said ALL help is VERY VERY MUCH appreciated and the support has been outstanding just frustrating to know he's out there and we can't do a thing to either find or catch him x
Nat
Hi Kaz, I haven't just been keeping an eye out for him. I spent 2 hours walking around Hogaok Lane area yesterday afternoon then drove up to the Golf Course to ask around. I searched early mornings both Saturday & Sunday around Binfield as well as Friday evening. I know other people have been doing the same. We are really trying to bring him home. The probelm is I am back at work now & the help I can give during the week is limited. I really hope he is home with your Mum soon.

No sightings reported since early yesterday morning. Please keep postering as far and wide as you can and cross posting on fb.
Its a long time for him to be out and the longer he is the less chance we have of catching him. Any sightings please call 07766021465 or 07900636256 as soon as you see him if possible.
Ellie
Well done you guys, you are certainly doing a grand job. I'm too far away to help out, but you clearly have a great team there helping out. Good luck with your rescue and fingers Xd that Jamie will be home safe and sound ASAP!
bettybrice
hi vickip thanks for your info any little thing will help, i was up there yesterday looking and put the posters up, spoke to a few horse riders as well , i hope he is still i that area and there is another sighting today x
VickiP
Just after the nature reserve, Julie (heading northwards). I will give that number a ring now. I noticed Jamie's posters are at various posts along the lane too.
Julie
Is this the bbont widlife reserve or next to it? just looked on their website as am at work today and there is a warden for it so would be worth calling them in case they are about there today working. no. is 01628 829574
VickiP
No sighting of him, but a strange occurance worth reporting. My rescue (Ex hunting) pointer went missing for about 20 minutes - we were almost at the Ashmore Lane turn - but he shot off into the woods on the right (on Google Maps this is the area called Chawridge Gorse) of Hog Oak. A few minutes after running off from that direction I heard a high pitch yapping noise, which I'm sure wasn't my Humphrey. As I said, it was 20 minutes before he came back. Now he could have just found pheasants or rabbits, but the yapping noise was worth reporting I think.
depurple1
I rode up and down Hog Oak Lane and Hawthorn Lane late yesterday afternoon and got my OH to walk our dogs down Ashmore Lane. I also rode round Hornbuckle Farm which borders Ashmore Lane. Sadly didn't see Jamie.

On Hog Oak Lane, there was something moving in the bushes between Ashmore Lane and Drift Road, just before it turns into fields on the left (I could hear movement and there was a bird alarm calling), but I have no idea what this was. I stood until my horse lost patience but didn't see anything.

I have let people I know who live/work/keep horses in the area know Jamie is missing and they are all keeping an eye out.
VickiP
Going back to Hog Oak Lane now to walk the same route as yesterday, armed with food this time. Will be back around 09:30 to update.
bettybrice
my life's on hold till i get him back, i pray every day that someone will be in the right place at right time, but 5 days now the support is amazing thanks
Clare
Try and stay positive Betty. He has been sighted everyday usually more than once so we know roughly where he is. He has lots of shelter around there with all the farms etc so im sure he wont be out in the cold tonight. Hes clearly a resilient dog we just need a lucky break like someone to be in the right place at exactly the right time and get hold of him. Dont give up hope you have a lot of great support here. Its still early days x
bettybrice
another cold and dark night for my Jamie to suffer, feel like i'm not going to get him back, thanks to everyone who went out today, so grateful for the help,
Nat
Just come back from there. There is a brown jack Russell running around opposite the golf club but he belongs to the livery stables.
Clare
Ive been driving all round that area for the last hour from the start of Drift Road in Winkfield to Birdshill Golf Centre and back through Hogoak Lane. There was a dog being walked that looked very similar colouring to Jamie on a long lead there (it was a black and white collie, i did stop to check). I was there 20 minutes ago and didnt see him x
kaz
Unconfirmed sighting on drift road...birds hill golf centre end ... 20 mins ago Last edited: 2013-11-03 15:40:16 by kaz
Nat
Just returned from hog oak lane and no sightings. So many places for him to hide though.
Clare
I know where you mean Thanks Vicki. Im going to have another look around from the Drift Road end before it gets dark. Hope he doesnt go towards Moneyrow Green and the motorway but as you say lots of woods to shelter in before that xLast edited: 2013-11-03 14:32:44 by Clare
VickiP
He was halfway along Hog Oak Lane - heading north to where it meets the Drift Road, which is just east of the A330/A3095 roundabout at Birds Hill Golf Course. If he were to cross he'd then go north towards Moneyrow Green. But there's alot of wood and covering to hide in on Hog Oak Lane, so I'd hope he would stay there.
Clare
Hi VickiP Was he heading towards Drift Road in The Holyport direction or the Legoland direction do you think?
VickiP
Hi - it was me who called in the sighting at 09:45 this morning. I was walking north along Hog Oak Lane and just before the turning on the left to Ashmore Lane I noticed a collie eating from an orange sainsburys bag. One of my dogs ran up to him, and it wasn't until I noticed no other people around that I guessed he was Jamie. Unfortunately as I got nearer he shot off - North up Hog Oak Lane, in the direction of Drift Road. So that would be my recommendation for search area - you can park on Drift road and walk south along Hog Oak. This section (north of Ashmore Lane turn) is rarely used by dogwalkers as it comes out on the Drift Road.
Clare
Ive walked around but so many fields and places to hide. Like Richard says lots of people out with dogs so fingers crossed for another sighting. Hes really covering alot of ground . He must have gone down Bottle Lane and Wellers Lane from where he was yesterday x
Rippleoak
Faiths mum, we at Ryslip have got a poster up, have been out searching and also told all our clients to look out for him and made them aware.
Richard
Just got back from hogoak lane where we walk up Hawthorne lane hog oak lane and back with my 2 cavaliers but no luck lots of people with there dogs so fingers crossed
Nat
Ok thanks, found it! I will head there in a while.
Clare
Its Hawthorn Lane and Hogoak Lane Nat. If you go to Ascot Road then turn into Nuptown Lane youll find it. Lots of walkers around that ive asked some who have come to help look.
Nat
Where abouts is this please? I cannot find it on google maps
Clare
On my way there now x
Donna
Jamie has been sighted: We are hoping that as many people as possible will help to see if we can track him today. He was seen in Warfield Nuptown - on Hogg Oak Lane where it meets Ashmore Lane/Path. He made of to the North side.
If you are able to help today please go there. You will need to take food as the only chance you will have to catch him is on sighting sit in floor - no eye contact or talking and toss him some food. Continue to tempt with small amounts of food until you can grab him. I will update sightings as soon as called in 07766021465. if any one who is available could start looking as soon as possible, the more people the better today please.
Clare
Hi Faithsmum I know Ryslip Kennels are aware. Someone went in there on the 31st Thanks x
Faithsmum
Might be worth asking Ryslip Kennels if you can put a poster up? Just up the road from Stag and Hounds Pub
poshbird
Betty we are all worried and desperately want Jamie to return home safely . This site is indeed designed to be used as the central point of information to help and coordinate the search .
Dependant on what information or sightings we receive is how we decide to act. ,sometimes we need more people sometimes we need less we decide this using what info we have and using our past experiences of what's working or not working .. There are so many people involved time can be of the essence so we update one central point ..
Nat
I have just driven around Binfield & no sign of him. Stopped at stag & hounds & jack o Newbury as well as the churchyard for a good look around.
bettybrice
hi poshbird i would be grateful if you would please, please, keep my husband and i informed of all things concerning jamie,we are sick with worry for him, as it seems if i want to know anything i have to come on this site. betty- royLast edited: 2013-11-02 20:19:23 by bettybrice
EmmaY
We've put a poster in Brownlow Hall with a map of where he's been spotted. There's an art show there this weekend so hopefully lots of footfall.
I'll happily join the search tomorrow. Will check back in re: details.
poshbird
Hi Mary we may well be organising a coordinated search tomorrow if we do details will be posted on here x
Mary
I will try get out there again tomorrow. I wonder if it would be better if anyone searching should all meet up at the last place he was seen and coordinate a search from there that way we won't all be covering the same ground. I don't know, but I just think it would allow us to cover the area more thoroughly

Yes Betty but in
First instance they should ring the two numbers above please and not the house number ...it makes a coordinated controlled approach to Jamie easier and quicker for us x
bettybrice
poshbird the number the house has in spinning-wheel lane is one of the numbers above, the other at bottom of post is my house number thanksLast edited: 2013-11-02 16:58:30 by bettybrice
bettybrice
thank you clare
Clare
Ive postered at the Wyvale Garden Centre and outside the Stag and Hounds Pub which is now closed. There are several open sheds in the carpark which he may use to shelter so worth keep checking in them. Also postered Howe Lane and the Jack O'Newbury Pub. Put a poster up on the board of the All Saints Church as there was no one around to ask and had a really good search all around the churchyard. Also gave one to Tesco in Warfield who said they will put it up on their noticeboard. I dont know how long these will stay up in this weather and unfortunately run out of posters now till i can get some more printed on Monday. Fingers crossed for a sighting x
poshbird
Can I please request that no other telephone numbers are given out to anyone except the two numbers above who are the main contacts and who are coordinating the search , we are doing all we can to find Jamie but by other numbers being given out this is hampering our search even though we know it's well
Meaning ... If Jamie returns to the house on spinning wheel lane they should contact the above numbers in the first instance ...
bettybrice
thanks clare think he would be looking for food by now, no chance of getting him in the dark
Clare
Im sure hes hiding out somewhere nearby There are so many sheds etc on the farms he could go into. Im off now to poster while its stopped raining. x
bettybrice
no Clare they haven't seen him they have my phone number and no calls yet x Betty getting worried now
Clare
Betty do you have any idea if hes been back to take food from the house in Spinningwheel Lane at all ?
Clare
Im going to go out this afternoon and get a few posters up x
Julie
Just got back from couple hour walk, no sighting unfortunately. We covered Billingbear, the bridle way, have asked people at the Archery club to look out for him as people tend to be ther all weekend, past fields behind old school, ryehurst lane, bottle lane and bridleway behind sewage works. If someone can it could be worth putting some posters up or leaflet dropping some of the the houses in the area. There are quite a few people about in gardens today so may increase the chance of him being spotted.

Nat
Just back from walking & driving around Binfield area. No sightings I am afraid.
Julie
Not a problem we are only a 10min walk away. we will go out the same area tomorrow morning. There are plenty of stables, open farm buildings and places a dog could find shelter for the night about this area, so he may well still be about.
bettybrice
thanks julie for your time tonight appreciated a lot , hope he is spotted tomorrow in or around same area as today so we can get a trap down easier in day light thanks again betty
Julie
Afraid we had no success at spotting him tonight, We have just been out for walk from binfield down to the church, past the old school, right down to the end of the lane which runs past binfield football club. There are good views over the fields behind the old school from here so a place to check from tomorrow. Then back along cabbage hill lane and back up into Binfield along tilehurst lane. There are normally more dog walkers and cyclists around the area and roads north of binfield at weekends so I'm sure he'll be spotted tomorrow.
bettybrice
thanks mary i hope he decides to stay in same area Last edited: 2013-11-01 18:29:41 by bettybrice
Mary
I hope there's no confusion. He was sighted this afternoon behind the OLD school site, all saints school near all saints church at the bottom end of the village. I drove there again this evening but didn't see him. Covered from felix farm, Howe lane, hazel wood lane, Stubbs hill and church lane. I will get out there again tomorrow
bettybrice
Thank you so much Clare, nNAT.EMMA, i wish he did understand we are trying to help him, but self preservation has set in again, he is an expert at it after living on the streets in Spain , only makes it worse because he doesn't understand any words in English and is so frightened of people ,thank you betty x
Clare
I can help over the weekend as well. I can go back out later tonight if any more sightings. If only he knew we are trying to help him x
Nat
Just come back from searching around Binfield. Sorry no joy. I will try and go out early tomorrow morning.
EmmaY
Hi, I went out looking earlier and we've just come back from the fields behind Popes. Happy to join a search over the weekend if there's one organised?
Keeping everything crossed for you. We got ours back after 3 days on the run, (she was a very nervous rescue we'd not even taken home) a few years ago thanks to DogLost so there's always hope.
Clare
Just got back from Binfield. I searched all around the fields around Binfield School and gave out some posters to dog walkers. Put one up by the playground next to the school and asked eveyone there to keep an eye out and phone the number if sighted. Drove around the area back up towards Spinningwheel Lane. Sorry no sign of him.
bettybrice
hi julie hes ok with dogs just terrified of people so he will run for it , we want him to stay in the area so traps can go down thank you for your offer of help if you see him phone this num 01344649497 thanks xbetty
MaryEloise
Julie - He is fine with other dogs and is more likely to approach a dog than a person. If you go out please drop food for him, the smellier the better but don't call/shout as this might frighten him out of the area.
Julie
I will have a look when i get home from work to see if i can see him. What is he like with other dogs? wouldn't want mine to scare him off if he isnt good with them.
Nat
Just about to leave work. I will drive round Binfield shortly.
lolbeck
Can't be of practical help as too far away but am thinking of Jamie and his humans and hoping for his safe retrun. I don't know the place at all but is Jamie sticking in a small enough area to make the 'light up the BBQ and cook sausages' trick work and if so is there someone who would let you do it in their garden?
Clare
Im going out to look around the Binfield area now xLast edited: 2013-11-01 15:36:22 by Clare

Sorry no joy, been to spinning wheel lane and covered local areas. Will go home for a coffee and try again later x
Shereen
IF SIGHTED DO NOT CHASE,DO NOT CALL HIS NAME (IT WILL PUSH HIM OUT OF THE AREA)..OFFER FOOD AND BACK OFF...OR SIT WITH YOUR BACK TURNED AND NO EYE CONTACT SLOWLY BUILD TRUST GENTLY THROWING FOOD BEHIND YOU.
Mary
Ok I will head out that way, dog biscuits in pocket x
bettybrice
hi Mary still waiting to hear from people, but my family will be going out to last area we think maybe he bolted to the next field from the garden he was in last night, we desperately need a sighting as he's travelling further away from us in Bracknell, all help gladly appreciated
Mary
Is anyone planning to go out looking today. I am happy to help! Have you contacted local radio as that may help spread the word?
bettybrice
jamie still missing last seen in a private garden in spinning wheellrow on the twyford rd last night PLEASE LOOK OUT FOR HIM HE IS FRIGHTENED AND HUNGRY AND WILL RESPOND TO FOOD , THE ONLY WAY OF CATCHING HIM WILL BE TO CORNER HIM AS HE WILL FREEZE MAYBE LONG ENOUGH TO CATCH WE NEED A SIGHTING TODAY PLEASE betty 01344649497
bettybrice
hi poshbird yes home owners will allow traps to be set up , asked when i was over trying to catch jamie thanks for your efforts xbetty
poshbird
Spent from about 10 am this morning until about 3pm looking for jamie with others ,there was a confirmed sighting at the golf course in binfield he was on the driving range at about 9am,golf course has all relevant contact details should he reappear. A sightinging was then confirmed at felix fisheries on howe lane ,owner spotted and so did i twice ,we used tracker dogs and heard a dog whimpering in the woods on the fisheries land, but unfortunately he bolted again.the fisheries owners will keep and eye out for him and have our contact details ...As he seems to keep going back to spinning wheel lane and that one house i have requested a trap to be set up with food if the home owners will allow in their garden ...Last edited: 2013-10-31 21:37:00 by poshbird
Clare
Keep positive Betty With abit of luck he will stay in this area and can be caught. As you say tomorrows another day. I really would suggest getting some posters up if possible. I can do some tomorrow afternoon but if anyone is able to in the morning it would be very helpful.

Just spent an hour driving around hoping to see him but unfortunately not.I saw two eyes in the bushes but it was a huge black and white cat. Then i realized i was in a pitch black dirt track with nowhere to turn round on Halloween so had to call it a day im afraid. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Stay safe Jamie x

I've seen the details on Facebook and have printed out a poster. I have three small J/R crosses and the same number different sounding whistles. We'll walk down the bridlepath near Binfield Dog Rescue this pm. Do you want a poster top and bottom of this route?
Clare
Im heading up to Shurlock Row now x
Heather
My son's girlfriend had a sighting of the little dog last night, he ran in front of her car and she tried to grab him, on Billingbear Lane. We called Donna to let her know. My son and his girlfriend then drove back to look for him last night but could not see him, he was running on the road in and out of traffic. I do hope he is found soon, but is obviously still in the area.

Hi bettybrice can you give a few more details about Jamie ie which direction he was running, if he has been walked to any parks from your house, if there is anything he would be familiar with. I know you havent had him for long but every little helps. Fingers crossed there is a sighting today x

I am sorry to see Jamie is missing, I have shared his details on FB too and will ask my sister to look out for him as lives near the college. I am not available tomorrow but if I am able to help with any searches Friday and at the weekend, let me know. Hopefully he will be home by then.
Clare
Just postered around Dukeshill Road, Horseleile Lane & MerryHill Road. Put one in the Jocks Lane Comunity Centre and surrounding roads. The girls there knew about him from facebook and are watching out as they have dogs. Met some people walking dogs who knew from facebook as well. Postered the park off Harvest Ride and met a lovely couple who has also seen it on facebook and were walking their dog there to look for him so lots of people aware.I dont know how long the posters will stay in this weather but I will do more tomorrow including my vet. All we need is a positive sighting and i will go out again. Come on Jamie.Last edited: 2013-10-30 19:47:54 by Clare

Donna
I have email over pic as for some reason it wont upload.
MaryEloise
Photos have been sent to the doglost email address from myself & Donna. Could you let us know if they've not been received? I titled mine with his ID number.

Jamie is not a working dog, he is a rescue dog who had just been rehomed to a new home and he has managed to get away.

Fingers crossed for him!
Angel
Hi. Is this a new rescue ex working dog? Did he escape from home?

Can we have a picture please!

This dog is really scared but not aggressive. he wont come voluntarily and does not really know his name. he does respond to a whistle and loves food.
