Nancy as she was called has been collected by her family. They live in a nearby village but were looking after horses they have near here when she bolted. They collected her last night, so we had her for 24 hours or so. May she always be happy and safe, as she is a sweetheart of a dog.

There is one called 'Stella' listed on Nationalpetregister.org, that looks similar (ref 54531 (140)). I have notified the owner to the one registered above, but they have already been to see her & sadly it is not theirs.

Happyhound, how nice of you to look after her. Hope her owner is found soon.

Have checked but no one had reported the dog missing to the police at Stafford when I reported her this morning. Even if there was an owner not on f/b twitter or unaware of Dog Lost, surely they would have informed the police? Have just emailed environmental health to notify them and to make it clear I am happy to continue caring for the dog in the meantime, to avoid her going into the local holding kennels which would be very stressful for her. I would revise her age as I thought earlier today she might be about 5 or 6, but her eyes are a little cloudy which makes me think she might be 8 or 9 perhaps. Poster up in local supermarket, and going to vets tomorrow to check for a chip.

I have registered this dogs' details with Stafford police station, but she has not been reported missing, and posted on my f/b and twitter pages. She has had a walk, and seems accustomed to walking on a lead, and seems well fed; without being over weight. I shall get my vet to check her tomorrow for a micro chip
